[Repeater-Builder] Am I being Censored ?

When I send e-mails to the group, it takes hours for my posting to
actually post to the group?

Most likely just yahoo and your isp - a friend here in
Temple on road runner takes hours for a post to go through,
while a different isp goes through in minutes. 73, Steve

Two things relate to delay of posts:
1, EVERY new member is moderated for a period of time until the
moderators see that you have decent posting habits and aren't a damn
spammer. When the moderators deem it okay, they will take you off of
the necessity of being moderated.

2, The YahooGroups servers are getting slower and slower. This is due
to one reason, the processing unnecessary SPAM. It's too bad that
people have to generate spam of any type and the mail servers abound
have to deal with it. There is more processor power being utilized to
filter spam than it takes to run these lists and web servers.

So, actually the delay is caused by one thing, SPAM, but two resulting
factors affect you.

I think Yahoo has been having hiccups the last couple of days... I see quite a
few messages on the Yahoogroups site that I never got in my email, and other
messages have been arriving out of order (replies before the originals...)

Very weird.

Hello,

Got this from another Yahoo group, looks like they are trying to improve
things but as most Humans do, they messed up! This is probably not the
problem Paul was referring to, just interesting information.

Paul

From February 28 about 2:30 p.m. (Pacific time) until March 1 about
11:15 a.m. (Pacific time) (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/),
some members of some groups were not receiving email. Some members of some
of these groups were able to see the posts on their group archive on the
Web, but were not receiving them via email. Groups mail delivery is back to
normal as of about 11:15 a.m. (Pacific time). We now have more information
about what caused this.

While we were working on an improvement to our email delivery systems, email
delivery was inadvertently suspended for some members of some groups. This
problem did not affect all Groups users. Unfortunately, while messages
posted to affected groups during this time were saved to group archives, the
messages cannot now be delivered via email. If your group's archives are
open to your members (more info about Archive settings:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/groups/messages/messages-16.html), your
members can access the undelivered messages via the Web. If your group's
archives are not open to your members, you may want to suggest that your
members resend any messages they had sent between yesterday afternoon and
this morning, if they want to ensure that all members of the group receive
them.

Yesterday's work was part of our ongoing efforts to improve the performance
of Yahoo! Groups and was not supposed to involve any downtime for users. The
delivery glitch was the result of human error, and because it only affected
some members of some groups, it delayed both our awareness of the problem
and our efforts to resolve it. We sincerely regret the inconvenience it may
have caused.

Been happening a lot with Yahoo for some reason, sometimes I get peoples
responses hours before I get the original answer.
