Oh, and I've never seen a repeater, but I have 2 on the air...

2005-01-20 Thread Chris Peterson

Jim,

You're just digging yourself in deeper and deeper every time you post.

Please, do us all a favor and let this thread go.

Paul, thanks for participating in the group. I value your participation
and, because I've heard nothing but good about your stuff from those who
actually own it, I won't hesitate to buy a repeater from you if I ever need
another one.

Russ, please continue to refer us to equipment/vendors that you've had good
luck with. A personal reference carries a lot of weight with me because, by
and large, I've enjoyed dealing with businesses that have come recomended to
me, better than those I've found by chance. Keep it up, no matter what Jim
says.

73,
Chris, KG0BP

And it's my turn to say something about all this. I usually just ignore a lot that goes on here but I can't let this go.
I own two Maggiore repeaters and I'm the trustee of another Maggiore repeater and have used a Maggiore exciter in another repeater. All of them have been working Flawlessly for years. Two of them are in extremely high RF enviroments, sandwiched between two 50 KW FM stations, a two pagers and a commercial pager.  I also own a GE Mastr II and a Kendicom. They don't even come close as far as reliability.
Paul's service is second to none.  If I have a question about anything, he's always there to answer and assist in any way.
Enough said on that subject. Let's move on to another topic!!!

My time to chime
I had been running spectrums for years.2 meter transmitter died in one
machine replaced it with a Maggorie..  nice and clean.. does the job.
I replaced a Hamtronics receiver in another machine with a MastrII
receiver. Until  my Maggorie
arrived.  After I installed the Maggorie I am Not even looking back..
The club said there was nothing wrong with the coverage they had at the
site.. I knew the coverage should have been better... with the Maggorie
receiver the club thought I moved the machine to a Better site..
receive coverage  more than doubled.
The machine is Running 180 watts into the Duplexer.with No desense. The
Mastr II receiver I had in there was getting desensed
I have had micor repeaters, spectrum,GE MastrII's RCA and ICOM..  I
figured I would try the Maggorie.
 I have No regrets
BTW. the Icom was an ok machine. nothing special. got rid of it.
The micor is still on the air in NY(147.345) Islip.
the RCA is my 440 backup.
Spectrum still on the air. 224.5 Monroe Twp,NJ
MastrII is now backups. on 6 meters and 2 meters
Maggorie Boards now on the air. 147.120 Oldbridge,NJ

you don't want to, either. I guess those old HR-2 vintage regency

Spectrum at least had better sounding audio-if it was setup by someone
