Some of the expense for a crane is travel time. Depending on the size of the crane, it may have restricted times that it can be moved adding to the expense of job. If I had a tower that I wanted to have taken down by a crane, I would look around for a crane company doing work in my area. For example, if they are in your area doing a pick of a modular home you may be able to negotiate a lower price. This would mean that you would have to have a very flexible time frame and may have to pay COD when the work is done. There was no wait time as the transformer was all disconnected and already sitting outside the substation fence. Cost for crane was a little over $4,000.00. Yepit's a T1500 series; we have its twin at our club repeater site. I think it is a T1504 or a T1507 I cant remember the number for sure. This is the BpBr version since it has the little adjusting knobs on the side by the so-239 jacks.
