Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: Antenna Tower

2008-04-08 Thread k1ike_mail
Some of the expense for a crane is travel time. Depending on the size of the
crane, it may have restricted times that it can be moved adding to the expense
of job. If I had a tower that I wanted to have taken down by a crane, I would
look around for a crane company doing work in my area. For example, if they
are in your area doing a pick of a modular home you may be able to negotiate a
lower price. This would mean that you would have to have a very flexible time
frame and may have to pay COD when the work is done.

We just had to have a crane come in to pick a substation transformer off the
ground and place it on a flatbed. There was no wait time as the transformer
was all disconnected and already sitting outside the substation fence. Cost
for crane was a little over $4,000.00.

Now, I can only imagine the cost to have a crane take that tower down if one
 ends up being needed.

Yepit's a T1500 series; we have its twin at our club repeater site.

I think it is a T1504 or a T1507 I cant remember the number for sure.

This is the BpBr version since it has the little adjusting knobs on the
side by the so-239 jacks.
