à Experience testing quotes, policies, flat text files

   - Work independently with key business stakeholders and users of varying
   associate/management levels to gather and analyze business requirements and
   interpret needs; identifying process and technology improvement
   opportunities that solve technical and/or business issues of varying
   complexity.  Facilitating the business to make informed decisions by
   providing all necessary information and supporting documentation.
   - Act as primary analyst on multiple complex projects concurrently.
   - Use advanced verbal and written communication skills and expert
   business process knowledge to effectively communicate technical and
   non-technical materials to the business units.
   - Demonstrate thorough understanding of SDLC methodology execution and
   deliverables.
   - Develop project documentation to include process diagrams, feasibility
   studies, requirements specifications, use cases, system gap analysis, test
   cases, and testing plans.
   - Plan and conduct meetings to include presentations to management and
   other IT personnel, design reviews, peer reviews and user acceptance
   reviews.
   - Present evaluations of technology alternatives and recommendations of
   vendors to IT management and business stakeholders in an effort to identify
   resolution and gain consensus on the selection of the most viable solution.
   - Assume responsibility for the resolution of assigned system and process
   issues, tracking project progress and notifying management of issues that
   require escalation.
   - Assist Project Manager in planning and estimating efforts - providing
   input/clarity on business requirements, implementation options, phasing
   strategies, and level of effort estimates.
   - Identify and communicate impact of system changes on other projects or
   systems or on areas throughout the company, ensuring these impacts are
   comprehended across teams.



QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have:

   - Seven to ten years of relevant experience working with the SDLC.
   - Extensive experience with software requirement process is essential.
   - Strong written  oral communication, interviewing, analytical and
   problem solving skills are essential to the position.
   - Demonstrated successful mastery of requirements gathering and
   development of functional specifications; management of all facets of test
   plan development and execution.
   - Demonstrated ability to work at a team player; leading the group to
   develop alternative solutions to complex problems, thinking out of the box,
   encouraging group consensus, recommending the best resolution.
   - Strong negotiation skills
   - Process oriented, logical thinker
   - knowledge of relational databases and concepts
   - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Visio, Excel and Word.

In short, my client is looking for a very talented who has been a SQL Server
DBA over their career and also supported Oracle in the past.  This is a 6
month project that will begin ASAP.  Below is an overview of the position

Candidate must possess extensive SQL Server 2005 experience and Oracle 9i
experience.  Essentially I am looking for a Candidate who has been a SQL
Server DBA over their career and also supported Oracle in the past.  Top
skill needed is Sr. level SQL Server 2005 DBA skills with mid-level Oracle
9i DBA skills.  Mentoring and/or training experience is required.



Currently seeking a SQL Server 2005 DBA for a 3-5 month contract position
with one of our Pharmaceutical clients.  Our client has recently hired a
Jr.DBA and they need a Senior person to come in, mentor and bring this DBA
up to speed before unleashing him/her into full blown DBA responsibilities.



Ideally, experience with mentoring Jr. DBA's would be ideal however this is
not required.  We have had several DBA's interview and they were all more of
Application DBA's and they really need a strong SQL Server Production DBA.

Oracle 9i experience during your career would be a tremendous help mostly
having the understanding to move around in Oracle 9i but really the need a
100% SQL Server 2005 DBA with tasks including security administration,
performance monitoring, installs, configuration, server tuning.  Someone who
has been a DBA thought entire career and does not want a developer.

Should have expertise in converting VSAM Files, Flat Files, and DB2 tables
to an Oracle Relational Database environment. In addition to data conversion
the Data Conversion Specialist should have experience in Data Modeling, SQL,
COBOL, DB2, QMF/SPUFI, XML, and ORACLE Database Administration. These
positions require significant experience and expertise with Welfare
Eligibility System data.
Skill and Experience Requirements
The two Data Conversion Specialists must have significant experience with a
Human Services Department’s Welfare Eligibility System including eligibility
determination, benefit delivery and case maintenance. This Welfare
Eligibility System experience should be with a web architecture system based
upon a contemporary Java environment including an ORACLE database.
