Re: Ways to archieve old reviews

2012-12-10 Thread Lucas Wong
Thank you so much, Christian! So we shall make the education begin in our
team! :)

 Hi Lucas,

People should be closing review requests when the accompanying change is
submitted. That's your archival process, basically. Education is going to
be the most important thing here. People have to get into that habit.

#1 is probably what you want to do to start off, and then make sure people
get in the habit of closing. I know some companies have custom scripts that
help with auto-closing, but I don't have access to them.

 #2 is not doable today.

I know of servers with over 400,000 review requests and no speed issues.
The review requests are being closed properly on those. But all that being
said, I wouldn't expect it to take that long. What version of Review Board
 are you using?

because the huge number of reviews.
 My questions are:

1. If we close all reviews older than, say 3 months, that would left
us will about 5000 active reviews. Will this increase the index
 performance?
2. Is it possible to set the default index page for everyone to
incoming reviews that would work around the slow index page problem.

Re: Configured repository doesn't show on New Review Request page

2012-12-10 Thread Géza Kulcsár
Hi!

It is a valuable piece of information, still, I have questions
remained. 'cleartool lsview' with -cview flag presupposes that there
is a view already set (-cview means current view). Do I need to
provide the command which sets the view in the path field of the repo,
or the application is already needed to be ran on the server with the
view set?

Thanks,
Géza

2012/12/7 Christian Hammond chip...@chipx86.com:
 Hi,

I'm not an expert on the Clear Case setups, but going through the code, we
 do this:

 cleartool lsview -full -properties -cview

If we get an error, we won't show the repository.

We then look through the output. If there's no Properties: with dynamic
 or snapshot, we fail.

Otherwise, it should list the repository.

Hope that in some way helps.

Our Clear Case support is not really a first-class citizen. It's a series of
contributions, but unfortunately not one I know a lot about.

Hi!

When command is issued from console in the desired vob directory, it
gives correct output and even dynamic tag is found among Properties.
But giving the same directory path as Repository Path, it still
doesn't show. Do you know of any tricky options maybe of starting your
application itself? It can be the last remaining root cause, as the
command in itself works and the directory exists and reachable.

In one of your earlier mails, you mentioned some reviewboard log.
Could you please provide a path to it maybe so that I can request it
more exactly from the server technician?

Thanks,

review requests using a Bazaar diff: the upload process works, but no
response comes (the hourglass never disappears). At the same time, each
upload that is attempted causes one apache server process to loop
apparently accessing the Bazaar server...

The bazaar server at this time uses a lot of CPU, 100...150% and more.

I traced one of the Apache processes and got:

Process 24703 attached - interrupt to quit
recvfrom(23, bzr message 3 (bzr 1.6)\n\0\0\0\34d16:..., 65536, 0, NULL,
NULL) = 130
sendto(23, bzr message 3 (bzr 1.6)\n\0\0\0\34d16:..., 157, 0, NULL, 0) =
157
recvfrom(23, bzr message 3 (bzr 1.6)\n\0\0\0\34d16:..., 65536, 0, NULL,
NULL) = 380
recvfrom(23, e, 65536, 0, NULL, NULL) = 1
sendto(23, bzr message 3 (bzr 1.6)\n\0\0\0\34d16:..., 165, 0, NULL, 0) =
165
recvfrom(23, bzr message 3 (bzr 1.6)\n\0\0\0\34d16:..., 65536, 0, NULL,
NULL) = 115
sendto(23, bzr message 3 (bzr 1.6)\n\0\0\0\34d16:..., 142, 0, NULL, 0) =
142
recvfrom(23, bzr message 3 (bzr 1.6)\n\0\0\0\34d16:..., 65536, 0, NULL,
NULL) = 387
recvfrom(23, e, 65536, 0, NULL, NULL) = 1

Any idea what goes wrong?

Thanks,

Frits Jalvingh

Re: ReviewBoard 1.7rc1 uploading diff hangs, server process loops

2012-12-10 Thread Christian Hammond
Wow, that looks pretty bad.

Is this by any chance a public repository we can test against?

Is there anything in reviewboard.log relevant to this?

Did you have this problem with other versions?

Christian
