Github user skambha commented on the issue: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/13822 @cloud-fan, PR 15054 was merged this morning and that has resolved the issue the PR was trying to address. That said, the changes that went in there will throw an error that the table does not exist in the database even if it is a temporary view. So the error message is not as appropriate.. In any case, I think it is fine to close this PR. But the tests are valid. Let me know if there is interest, and I can submit just the tests.
