Hmm that's interesting and curious at the same time. Yesterday i noticed that i sent a message with a link to an Android friend that was offline at that time. I stayed online all the time and after one or two hours my friend came back online (wlan in the same room) and there was still this "sending" animation bouncing on my GNOME client. I tried to copy/paste it again. And what happend was: I got two immediately two little green checks in my conversation view for both messages. My friend hasn't got the first message while being offline. But after came back (and online) she got the first message and my resend second message at the same time. but looking at the timestamp of the messages there was a difference between 1 and 2 hours between my first and second message. [Ring] What happen to a message ...
that i send to one of my contacts while she/he is offline? Will i be lost once and for all? There is always the "sending" animation boucing for a long time. And sometimes a "failure" signature is following. What if there would be a way to cancel it, when i am getting aware that she/he is offline? As there is no contact comes online/goes offline notification right now, isn't it? All the best

[Ring] GNOME keyring
Hej there! Does Ring or Ring client automatically store my password somewhere (e.g. if have Seahorse installed)? It seems that there is no need to enter my password again. Even if i disabled to start Ring on login. Have a beautiful day!
Re: [Ring] Bug or enhancement?
Hmm all my GNOME standard apps save their window state. E.g. Files or Evolution. They all use headerbars as well. I didn't look at their code but maybe here is how that issue can be solved for Ring as well? https://wiki.gnome.org/HowDoI/SaveWindowState What GTK+ version does Ring use? > Guillaume Roguez <guillaume.rog...@savoirfairelinux.com> hat am 15. Re: [Ring] Bug or enhancement?
Yes, i use Wayland as my window system. Will it be fixed on any recent GTK+ version? > Guillaume Roguez <guillaume.rog...@savoirfairelinux.com> hat am 15. [Ring] Bug or enhancement?
Running GNOME Client on Fedora 26 nightly built on 2017-08-14 19:23:42 UTC. Found a bug or do wish an enhancement: Ring Window doesn't save it's state. Expected: It remembers the last state before closing the App window. What do you think? Or does it make Ring somehow vulnerable if window state is saved? Cheers and thanks!
[Ring] Need some help with setting up a Ring account
hej there, first congrats for your 1.0 release! hope you can help me with questions to finally set up Ring! 1. In the setup up (on GNOME Client) i see "Register public username (experimental)" --> I can check and uncheck that. What happens if i choose not to register it? And what makes this registration still "experimental"? 2. Does it make sense to register an anonymous "username" for the public directory and use my real name & foto as my "display name" to enhence privacy? and related to that: 3. Do i get things right that there is no plausible deniability possible with Ring right now? 4. How will you enhance Ring's security/privacy in the future? And p.s. Gerrit, Tuleap, GitHub. That's pretty hard to follow right now ;) Why do you use so many different plattforms instead of one? I know that e.g. GitHub works as a mirror. But why do need that? cheers and thanks!
[Ring] Why is there a different Ring Logo for Windows?
Hej there! Found the Logo different to your Website/my GNOME Ring App/Android Apps here: https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/store/p/gnu-ring/9nblggh43d70?rtc=1# Thanks and have a beautiful day!
[Ring] (When) Will you do security audits or penetration tests?
Hej there! Found that e.g. Briar project recently did that. https://briarproject.org/raw/BRP-01-report.pdf or Ricochet https://ricochet.im/files/ricochet-ncc-audit-2016-01.pdf What about security experts looking at GNU Ring's code? And a somehow related question in addition: Ricochet found a way to provide anonymous metadata-resistant instant messaging. Maybe that's something worth for you to look into? Thanks and have a beautiful day!
