Re: [RDD] Glassgui / Glasscoder error

2020-01-29 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello Mike,
i would like to suggest also to check liquidsoap logs in azuracast.

Glass coder is connected to liquidsoap who is the interface of automatic
dj/live to icecast/shoutcast(dnasv2)

Gabriele

[RDD] RDImport issue and features

2019-12-08 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello Fred,
i can confirm here rdimport have an issue importing file with filename in
utf8 format.
Will be nice to have also the possibility to check for duplicate just to
not import twice the same song.

At the moment i'm accomplish this by a custom Python script who is
modifying the file name from utf8 in ascii and checking the presence of the
same artist+title in the Rivendell db and if i want also it can check the
fingerprint of the file, but this last is still a working progress.

What do u think about it?

[RDD] pypad delay

2019-09-20 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello, there is a way to delay pypad?
I'm going to explain.. i have around 30 sec of delay in my audio chain and
so the title of the song is sent before the user is hearing the song.

If not is possible to introduce a delay only for icecast and shoutcast
stream?

[RDD] Glasscoder icecast/shoutcast V1

2019-08-26 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello,
today I gave a shoot to glasscoder but I got some trouble.

when I'm trying to connect with Icecast 2 :

glasscoder --server-type=icecast2 --server-url=
http://XXX.XXX.XXX:8015/stream --server-auth-usernam:password
--audio-format=mp3 --audio-samplerate=44100 --audio-channels=2
--audio-bitrate=192 --stream-name="X" --audio-device=jack
--jack-client-name="myname" --jack-gain=0

I got this error:

glasscoder: server "radio.workino.net:8015//stream" returned unrecognized
response
glasscoder: connection to "radio.workino.net:8015//stream" lost

I think the problem can be the double //

and with Shoutcast V1 (I'm connecting to a liquidsoap) in the liquidsoap
log

glasscoder --server-type=Shout1 --server-url=http://xxx.xxx.xxx:8015
--server-auth=username:password --audio-format=mp3 --audio-samplerate=44100
--audio-channels=2 --audio-bitrate=192 --stream-name="The Vintage Club"
--audio-device=jack --jack-client-name="GlassMP3" --jack-gain=0

glasscoder: connected to JACK graph at 48000 samples/sec.
glasscoder: login to "xxx.xxx.xxx:8015" rejected: Invalid password

(all sensible data are hidden)

With Darkice all is working.

Thanks in advance

Re: [RDD] Playback Problem

2019-08-21 Thread Gabriele Fergola
u need to make some try :D

in sheel try to simply do an "ls /var/snd" (without quote)
or you can just execute "mount |grep snd" but in this case, u see only if
it is mounted but not if it is accessible

if u can see all your files it's meaning all is mounted well. If it stuck
or don't see nothing is not well mounted and you need to dig a little bit :D

Gabriele

Re: [RDD] Glasscoder icecast/shoutcast V1

2019-08-20 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello Fred,
probably I found the problem. When the system try to resolve my domain name
the answer contains both kinds of IP (IPv4 and IPv6):

domain.net:

domain.net has address 164.132.XXX.XXX
domain.net has IPv6 address 2001:41d0:401::X

Today I tried to pass ipv4 instead of the name and all was working
perfectly so probably glasscoder is not managing well ipv6.

Is it possible?

Gabriele

Re: [RDD] Cart groups syncing between standalone Riv machines

2019-08-19 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Rob,
probably is not a solution u can put in place for many reasons but if you
have a good connection between the 2 site and private (never do it on
public IP or network) u can think to use a MySQL master-master replica so
every change u made on one side is automatically replicated on the other.
If u don't need the second site update the DB on the first site u can put
in place also a master-slave replica.

[RDD] Glasscoder icecast/shoutcast V1

2019-08-19 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello,
today I gave a shoot to glasscoder but I got some trouble.

when I'm trying to connect with Icecast 2 :

glasscoder --server-type=icecast2 --server-url=
http://XXX.XXX.XXX:8015/stream --server-auth-usernam:password
--audio-format=mp3 --audio-samplerate=44100 --audio-channels=2
--audio-bitrate=192 --stream-name="X" --audio-device=jack
--jack-client-name="myname" --jack-gain=0

I got this error:

glasscoder: server "radio.workino.net:8015//stream" returned unrecognized
response
glasscoder: connection to "radio.workino.net:8015//stream" lost

I think the problem can be the double //

and with Shoutcast V1 (I'm connecting to a liquidsoap) in the liquidsoap
log i can see only really strange characters

glasscoder --server-type=Shout1 --server-url=http://xxx.xxx.xxx:8015
--server-auth=username:password --audio-format=mp3 --audio-samplerate=44100
--audio-channels=2 --audio-bitrate=192 --stream-name="The Vintage Club"
--audio-device=jack --jack-client-name="GlassMP3" --jack-gain=0

glasscoder: connected to JACK graph at 48000 samples/sec.
glasscoder: login to "xxx.xxx.xxx:8015" rejected: Invalid password

(all sensible data are hidden)

With Darkice all is working.

Thanks in advance

[RDD] Sync Time

2019-07-30 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello,
I have a little problem with time sync. All the jingle are fired every
time. I tried to unflag time sync in rdadmin but it did not help and I
still have the issue. How is possible to tell rivendell to don't fire the
jingle? (most probably I added them in wrong way)

The jingle is like songs imported by an event called Jingle.

Is it wrong? )probably yes) what is the correct way to import in the log
the jingles?

[RDD] Jackd help

2019-07-02 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello,
I hope to don't be too much out off topic but I need help with jack.

If I start Jackd like the user, so I can bridge with pulseaudio and
redirect all audio like from browser also to jack, rivendell is not able to
see the session and obviously, if I start jack like root pactl cannot see
anymore jackd .

Is there any solution? is someone just play with it?

Thanks really for any help

Ps. if someone needs I had the centos 7 rpm module for jack and pulseaudio

[RDD] Crash + jackd2 problem

2019-06-28 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello,
I'm on the latest git branch (manually compiled) and after some test, I
found a problem with PFL in rdairplay. When is trying to play in pfl the
track rdairplay crash after freeze.

Jack2:
I don't know how to explain correctly but if I'm using the normal audio
card all is working like expectation but at the moment I'm switching to
JACKD2 rdairplay cut the song some second before the end and always around
the same point. This happens also if I try to make song longer or remove
marker, rdairplay cut the song on the same final part.

Is it some bad setting? how can I solve this?

to

To: Rivendell-Dev

Hello,
trying rivendell 3.0 I noticed segue editor is affected still from the same
little bug like 2.0 version.
Dropboxes still configure rdimport segue level to thousand instead of
decimal how u can see:

16085 ?Sl 0:00 /usr/bin/rdimport --persistent-dropbox-id=1
--drop-box --add-scheduler-code=10s --normalization-level=-14
--autotrim-level=-40* --segue-level=-1000* --segue-length=2500
--fix-broken-formats --delete-source --startdate-offset=0
--enddate-offset=0 --log-filename=10s.log --log-directory=/home/rd/Logs
--verbose 10s /home/rd/music_import/10s/*

I know Fred u asked me to send the patched to git but I'm really sorry I
don't know how to send it. I tried but I fail :S (please teach me how to
do it and I will)

This was the patch i sent some times ago :

Is it possible to put in the next master?

is freeze at 2.19.3 waiting for version 3 so I don't think any major
version will be released.
But how I said wait for an official answer from Fred.

Hello,
this is the patch to solve the segue problem in dropboxes mode on

 cmd+=
   QString().sprintf(" --segue-length=%u",q->value(22).toUInt());
 }

to apply the patch:

create a fie startdropboxes.patch and paste the upper code inside

startdropboxes.patch:
--- rdcatchd/startdropboxes.cpp 2018-12-10 11:01:29.886166332 +0100

   QString().sprintf(" --segue-length=%u",q->value(22).toUInt());

in the rivendell root source code execute:

2018-12-07 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello Cowboy,
thanks for your explanation. I don't want clip or be loud i'm asking only
because i see a discrepancy from my previous automation and rivendell.
My previous when vu meter was to 0 also in audio processor was like that
and that's all.

I prefer to don't add amplifier in the chain to not introduce any noise.

 Anyway great explanation thanks again

[RDD] RDAirplay vu meter

2018-12-07 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello
i ahve a stupid question on vu meter in rdairplay.
i normalized tracks at -13 dB and vu meter show me track volume so to 0 but
in audio processor is -13dB.

If i normalize tracks at -3dB i see vu metere in rdairplay goes over 0
almost near red zone but in audio processor i see the volume is -3 dB.

Is the 0 on vu meter real 0 or is around -13dB?

Sorry for the stupid question

Re: [RDD] Questions On Paravel Centos 7 Rivendell Build

2018-12-07 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello Rich,
fro my point of view u will not have problem to increase size of your
partitions also because u can mount /var/snd from nas/san so u don't need
space for /var/snd.

For gnome u can try also because from the manager u can always decide which
desktop run and if u find any trouble with gnome u can use xfce.

But anyway wait some other answer.

Re: [RDD] Dropboxes segue marker

2018-12-07 Thread Gabriele Fergola
After some more digging into the code i found :

lib/rdimport_audio:
  import_normalize_spin->setValue(settings->normalizationLevel()/100);
  import_autotrim_spin->setValue(settings->autotrimLevel()/100);
  import_channels_box->insertItem("1");
  import_channels_box->insertItem("2");
  import_channels_box->setCurrentItem(settings->channels()-1);

is missing /100 for segue mark

Re: [RDD] Dropboxes segue marker

2018-12-07 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello
After some try i found the problem.
When dropboxes run rdimport is lunched with wrong parameter

rdimport --persistent-dropbox-id=1 --drop-box --log-mode
--add-scheduler-code=10s --normalization-level=-3 --autotrim-level=-30
--segue-level=-1000 --segue-length=0 --metadata-pattern=%a-%u-%u- %t.mp3
--fix-broken-formats --delete-source --startdate-offset=0
--enddate-offset=0

When rdcatchd fork rdimport process for dropboxes don't remove 00 from the
value stored in db what happens for trim value so Segue level insted of -10
is -1000.
For the moment the only way to fix it is to lunch rdimport manually with
correct parameter.

I tryed to give a quick look in the code but i cannot find where the
doubble 0 is removed.

Ps sorry for my bad english

Regards
Gabriele

Thanks for your answer.

I saw that and i have the same problem as *Schwoon. *The problem comes from
the gui because also for me if i'm using it from shell like* "**rdmarkerset
--group=New --auto-segue=-10 --verbose" *everything is working as expected
but if i let rd import automatically with the setting in dropboxes, the
start segue mark is after the end segue mark (EX. segue start 3:57.8 -
segue end is 3:41.6). I think there is a problem with the gui.

And also from shell is no need to set segue lenght.

[RDD] Dropboxes segue marker

2018-11-30 Thread Gabriele Fergola
Hello,
i'm new about Rivendell and i'm trying to import all my song library but i
have a strange problem with segue marker.

When i set it to -10dB and some value from 0 to 3000 nothing changing. The
marker are always at same position and are inverted like start is after
end. What i'm doing wrong?

i have also normalization (-13dB) and Trim (-30dB) active.
