When I've installed it, I've found a lot of modules that can not / will
not 'fixdeps' there way in. I'm not sure why, but grabbing the modules
from cpan and installing the individual modules worked out fine.

-Matt
Still looks like fetchmail is trying to route your messeges through
/opt/rt4/bin/mailgate. Somewhere in your fetchmailrc(s) you have
/opt/rt4/bin/mailgate. It needs to be /opt/rt4/bin/*rt-*mailgate.

altho, a not advisable, you could run 'sudo ln /opt/rt4/bin/rt-mailgate
-s /opt/rt4/bin/mailgate'  It'll create a link that fetchmail can
follow. It wont fix the problem with your fetchmail, but it'll allow
fetchmail to pipe your messages correctly.

Sounds like you didnt finish the 'make fixdeps' part of the setup. Some
items (the last time I installed from the tarball) will not / can not be
installed that way. In which case it'll say in the last few lines about
how it could not install 'Thing::subthing' then just head on over to

Click on new search.

You can select all your options on the left if your more comfy.

LastUpdatedBy = 'user' AND Updated = '2012-03-15'

However I dont think it will work once it has been updated by someone
else. ie, Ticket1: Thing1 updated it yesterday because of an invoice
received, Thing2 updated it today because of the items received. Ticket

Re: [rt-users] One get two emails when sendiing emails to queue

2012-02-09 Thread 20/20 Lab
Sounds like you have yourself set as the admincc of the queue? It was
something I noticed when I started using rt. Turned it off as we
started to add more and more users simply because I was getting tons of
emails about tickets I had nothing to do with.

Re: [rt-users] Help installing RT4 on Ubuntu

2012-02-01 Thread 20/20 Lab
It looks like your running this as a dedicated server (or a virtual host
[ie rt.place.tld]). I run it as a page. Its on the same server as my
nagios install. here is my rt section. There are a number of
differences, but its someplace to start trying.

I also had to add LoadModule perl_module
/usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_perl.so to my apache2.conf. This config
is in my apache2.conf.

Location /rt
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

SetHandler perl-script
PerlResponseHandler Plack::Handler::Apache2
PerlSetVar psgi_app /opt/rt4/sbin/rt-server
/Location
Perl
use Plack::Handler::Apache2;
Plack::Handler::Apache2-preload(/opt/rt4/sbin/rt-server);
/Perl

Now, I dont even begin think that I understand why this works. I had to
try a ton of things to get the two to play nice with eachother. I'm
running 11.10 (I think)

It looks like your running from an elevated prompt (in case your not I'd
start there). If you have no data in your database yet, do a make
dropdb and redo your make initialize-database.

Hope this helps,
Matt

Re: [rt-users] Apache2.2 won't start at boot. RT4.0.4 on debian 6

2012-01-13 Thread 20/20 Lab
What does your default site conf look like? Are there server specific
settings there that might be causing the trip up? Have you tried
enabling both? Have you tried changing the boot order(?)? Try setting
the LogLevel to debug (apache2.conf/httpd.conf), then restarting your
server and see if something appears in the logs about it. I'm not
familiar with a2ensite/a2dissite so that may be the issue. If it
assumes that once you disable the default site that you wont be using
apache, it may be removing the appropriate link in your rc3.d / rc5.d
directory. After you enable the rt site, and disable the default, do
you have any links in those directories?

I'm not on a debian machine, so I'm not horribly familiar with the
specific distro layout.

Hi,

I'm having a major headache trying to get apache2 (for a clean install

If I leave the default apache site enabled, with no RT site in the
config, then apache will start at boot with no problem. If I enable
the RT site and disable the default one then apache will not start at
boot.

However there is absolutely nothing in **any** log file to suggest
that apache has even attempted to start, let alone why it has not
started.

I can start apache manually by running /etc/init.d/apache2 start
which works perfectly.

I've followed the RT4 install readme to the letter and I've gone
through the whole process from scratch (and I mean installing debian
from scratch) at least 4 times now and it's getting frustrating to say
the least.

My RT site apache conf is as follows, and is only different from the
default as suggested in web_deployment.pod in that my VirtualHost
has been changed to my own:

VirtualHost rtir.abuse
  ### Optional apache logs for RT
  ErrorLog /opt/rt4/var/log/apache2.error
  TransferLog /opt/rt4/var/log/apache2.access
  LogLevel debug

  AddDefaultCharset UTF-8

  /Location
  Perl
   use Plack::Handler::Apache2;
   Plack::Handler::Apache2-preload(/opt/rt4/sbin/rt-server);
  /Perl
/VirtualHost

I use the commands a2ensite a2dissite to enable/disable both the
default apache site and my RT site

There doesn't seem to be any other reports from anyone else having
this issue so what the hell is going on, and how do I fix it?!

Cheers,
Glenn

Re: [rt-users] Question on apache config

I managed to get this to work without a separate virtual host for each.
We have nagios, rt, the nagios rt interface for when something irksome
comes up when the office is closed, and an intra-office website. Works
really well, tho we have a smaller setup. This way its just domain/
for the web doman/rt and domain/nagios.

Hope this helps. Tho a simple virtual host for a nagios.domain.tld
would work just as well.

I ended up sticking with our tickets going to our main mail server, and

setup sendmail to masquerade the outgoing. That way its not visible to

   * *OPTION A: Re-addressed*
 Incoming mail comes into the mail server and is readdressed to RT
 server and forwarded
 Outgoing mail coming from the RT server goes to the mail server and
 is readdressed before going out to the world
 Pro: one mail server to admin; Con: pain to set up,
   * *OPTION B: Redirect*
 Incoming mail comes into the mail server and is redirected to the RT
 server
 Outgoing mail coming from the RT server goes to the mail server and
 is redirected to the rest of the world
 Pro: one mail server, simpler to set up; Con: less of a setup pain,
 but still
   * *OPTION C: Direct*
 Incoming mail goes straight to the RT server
 Outgoing mail coming from the RT server goes out to the world directly

Have you tried getmail? (http://pyropus.ca/software/getmail/) It seems
to be the same idea, but a lot of people who have had problems with
fetchmail seem to like it.

Can someone show me what the fetchmail config should look like in that

I would imagine that the only way to do something like this would to use
a VM. If it would work at all. VMWare would be the only way I can

I remember when I set this up, there were a number of dependencies that
I used CPAN to install, and there were around four that I had to
manually download and install.

Ideally, it will say something along the lines of 'can not find
XXX::XXX' which you would just cpan XXX::. Now for the few that
don't install; I grabbed them from the cpan site anyway, manually
compiled and installed. Not sure how long it took, as I was working on
other systems and machines at the time and came back every 10~30mins to
check on it and do the next step.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys,

I've googled it, some people also have this problem, but no solutions
were provided by anyone.
The problem is:

/usr/sbin/apache2ctl: line 107: 11712 Segmentation fault  $HTTPD
${APACHE_ARGUMENTS} -t 2  /dev/null

/usr/sbin/apache2ctl: line 107: 11715 Segmentation fault  $HTTPD
${APACHE_ARGUMENTS} -t
Action 'restart' failed.
The Apache error log may have more information.
testrt:/opt/rt4/etc# /etc/init.d/apache2 reload
Syntax OK
/usr/sbin/apache2ctl: line 107: 11729 Segmentation fault  $HTTPD
${APACHE_ARGUMENTS} -t

  failed!

The way of restarting apache which doesn't cause error to be thrown is
just:
/etc/init.d/apache2 stop; /etc/init.d/apache2 start
but it's, well, inelegant.

The issue is probably related to Plack.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Looks like its cause you have your $APACHE_ARGUMENTS set with a -t by
default. On my system, apache2ctl wont restart my server with a -t
argument. It does, however, restart it perfectly fine without the -t
argument. Looking into the /usr/sbin/apache2ctl file, line 107 is
where it takes in the command line arguments. Try clearing the
$APACHE_ARGUMENTS variable and try again.

And Kevin makes a valid point. Version and distro information would be
very helpful.

Good luck,
Matt

what `In-Reply-To' says and everybody makes naive assumptions about what
`References' supplies).

In any case, I dare you to go here:

   http://www.nntp.perl.org/group/perl.perl5.porters/2011/05/msg172431.html

and play around with `Thread Previous' and `Thread Next', and then provide
an explanation for WTF is going on (note dates too).

Now, admittedly, this isn't necessarily a problem with perlbug or
rt.perl.org's software, but I would add that the request tracker
exacerbates this situation by flinging copies of emails all over the
place with various Message-Ids and semi-spoofed `From' headers.

Surely something can be done to make working via email more seamless;
the request tracker should just be a third-party recording the
discussion (and only spoofing messages sent explicitly via its
interface).

Sincerely,
Michael Witten

Looks like whatever software is threading the messages is not
compensating for time zones and/or is running on utc.

If you wanted a guess.
