What was left out however, is the remainder of his quote. In
the Huntsville Times this weekend was a comment or two about
this now-famous quote. The next sentence Kerry says has the
following meaning (I can't quote him, for I can't find the
 article on the Net):

http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/speeches/spc_2002_1009.html

Kerry voted for this resolution for one and only one reason;
he was too scared (politically) not too. See below.

And as we all know, the US didn't receive any support from
the UN and choose to go it alone. Kerry was supporting the
efforts to find the WMD but the use of force was to be a last
 and final resort.

No, we don't all know. We received some, not all, support
from the United Nations members and we did not go it alone.

Please define a last and final resort? How many years? How
many failed trips by inspectors? How many contracts for oil
to Russia and France?

My point is that all the quotes offered as evidence of
several other politicians supporting the war effort are
perhaps taken out of context in an effort to distort the
opinions of those quoted. Clever tactic unless you take time
to read the rest of the quotes.

Maybe you should take the time to read the reports of the
independent commission Bush has said he will appoints. Seems
like the press is not the only ones taking things out of
context.

And I guess I'm wrong in thinking that since Dubya has now
agreed to an independent probe into the faulty intelligence
that he is now admitting that the intelligence was indeed
 wrong?

I mean, if he is so sure as to the accuracy of the
intel, why spend more of our money to find out why it was
 wrong.

No, he's bowing to the political pressure. Bush is too
politically scared in an election year to tell the media and
all the scared congressmen to just wait and see what happens.

Politically speaking though it is a wise move. It will take
a while to name the commission, and for the commission to do
their work and issue their report. By then, the election will
be over. He displaces the political pressure until after the
election.

But as another topic, if 9-11 didn't happen, do y'all think
the rush to remove Saddam would have been as high a priority
 as it became?

No rush but it would still eventually come. Not only did 9-11
change the way we looked at Iraq, but it probably also changed
the way Iraq looked at its situation.

Eventually they would make a stupid mistake that even the
United Nations would have to acknowledge and we would be at
them again.

At least under the current environment we don't have to go back
to the United Nations and say pretty please can we advance 5
more miles, pretty please can we topple a statue, and have to
put up with months and months of useless speeched from that
idiot of a UN ambassodor from France.

The reason that gas prices have steadily climbed is that the US Government
is forced (by law) to replenish the oil reserves that Clinton dipped into
like an idiot before he left office, hence the higher prices, thank you Bill
(slick willy) Clinton. If we had more refineries, we could process more of
the oil that is readily available and then the prices would go down. But
nthat would get the greenie weenies in an uproar.
If you want cheaper gas prices, then tell the sierra club to take a hike and
allow the evil coorporations to build more oil refineries.

And as far as invading and occupying other countries...quit looking
for a was to twist reality into a pretzel to fit your skewed view of
America. You are one of those a$$holes that blame America first. Did you
ever stop to think that we stopped an evil, oppressive, mass murdering

that he had WMD. Israel observed many military convoys going from Iraq into

If you really believe that President BUSH lied - - THAT THERE NEVER WERE ANY
WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ AND HE TOOK US TO WAR SOLELY FOR HIS OIL
BUDDIES -- then read this

One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to
develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them.
   That is our bottom line.
  - President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear.
We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass
   destruction program.
   - President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

Iraq is a long way from [the USA], but what happens there matters a
great deal
here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear,
chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest
   security threat we face.
   -Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times
   since 1983.
   - Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the
U.S.
Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if
appropriate,
air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to
the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction
   programs.
   - Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin,
Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998

Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass
destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and
he
has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.
   - Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass
destruction and palaces for his cronies.
-Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons
programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear
programs
continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition,
Saddam
continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover
of a
licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten
the United States and our allies.
   - Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,)
   and others, December 5, 2001

We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a
threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the
mandated of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass
destruction
and the means of delivering them.
   - Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical
   weapons throughout his country.
  - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to
deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is
in
   power.
 - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and
developing
   weapons of mass destruction.
   - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are
confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and
biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to
build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence
reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons...
   - Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

I will be voting to give the President of the United States the
authority
to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe
that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a
real
and grave threat to our security.
   - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working
aggressively
to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within
the
next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated
the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass
destruction.
   - Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years,
every
significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy
his
chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has
   refused to do Rep.
   - Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show
that
Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weap ons

While this could easily be divided between party lines, it goes much deeper
than that I think. If everyone knew that he had WMD, why was the US the only
country (ignoring the British because they do what we tell them) to invade
 Iraq?

To sum it up simply, are the US and the rest of the free world better off
due to our invasion and occupation of Iraq? Do American's in particular feel
safer now since Saddam is out of power? I guess it depends on who you ask
and how you frame the question.

And are the people of Iraq better off now? Too earlier to tell I'm sure.
While the media focuses on the hunt (or lack thereof) for WMD, there are
many issues that linger just beyond the camera lens. Car bombs hardly make
the news now, choppers going down seldom get headlines, the delivery of
30,000 more troops was preceded by the latest on the MJ child molestation
trial (guilty I would guess), the elections in Iraq will go un-noticed until
a civil war breaks out and we're caught in the cross-fire.

Arguing as to why we invaded or why we should have waited is now useless.
The question should now become How long do we stay and was the invasion
 worth the lives lost?

Here's something to consider: Here it is, election year. The economy is
still struggling. Thousands of high-tech jobs are going over-seas while
millions of low wage jobs are being lost to illegal immigrants. The hunt for
WMD isn't going so well. So Bush needs a bright spot, a shining beacon if
you will. Bush has, through the military, stated that Bin Laden WILL be
'caught' within the year. Very bold of him to make this statement don't ya
think? Very, very bold indeed. Unless, of course his is 100% certain he can
accomplish this goal. I'm suspecting there already has been a 'capture' of
sorts. Ole Bin is most likely being held prisoner by some mountain tribe (US
funded and fed), just waiting for these 30,000 new troops to arrive. Soon
after their arrival, but strategically before the election, these troops
will 'capture' Ole Bin and low and beholdhe will be 'guarding the mass
stock piles of WMD'. Two birds with one stone, if you will. Bush's approval
rating sky rockets pass 100% and the elections are called off due to the
Dem's obvious chance of not winning.

I can see the parades now.

Sorry, but that is too shallow of a statement. We were not
the only country and you cannot ignore the British, or the
Spanish, or the Austrailians, or any of the other countries
who supported the deposing of the Baathist regime.

It's obvious why the other Arab countries didn't want to
invade, but why not France and Russia? Are they so wise and
so humane that we should have listened to them? What have
they ever done to show us their way is the right way? Name
one accomplishment they've made? I can't and I'm not going
to follow their appeasing attitude so they can continue to
get their oil contracts.

What should we have done? Stretched this thing out 10, 20
or 30 years more, continued talks and inspections and
wait for Saddam Hussein to die, and let Uday or Qusay then
take over and start all over again? I don't think so.

We tried the diplomatic approach for 15 years and all it got
us was a bunch of lies and deceptions.

To sum it up simply, are the US and the rest of the free

To sum it up simply, obviously, yes.

Yes. You can always find a Martin Sheen, Howard Dean, or
Michael Moore out there. But let put their offices at the
top of the new World Trade Center once it built, or in the
middle of downtown Baghdad and then ask them the question
again.

And are the people of Iraq better off now? Too earlier to
 tell I'm sure.

Without a doubt, the people of Iraq are better off now. There
is no sensible argument otherwise. But it's up to them as to
where it goes from here.

Dean's comment about the dead not being better off was a
ridculous statement.

Are the hundreds of thousands of Kurds masacred by Saddam
Hussein, after the coalition during the Gulf War listened to
the appeasers at the United Nations and ended the confict,
better off now?

Are the hundreds of thousands of soldiers and millions of Jews
killed during World War II better off now?

Are all the men and women killed during the Revolutionary War,
the Spanish American War, the Civil War, World War I, better
off now?

 While the media focuses on...

The media goes for the show, the big story. Every time a
helicopter goes down it makes the news for a day and then
goes away.

More people are killed every month in the United States due
to violent crime then soldiers have been killed in Iraq, but
where are the reports on these deaths? Are these people any
less important? No, but it's not news except for the local
news where it happened, and then only for a day.

Here's something to consider: Here it is, election year...

Sorry, but this it total bullshit. If you want to live in
your conspiracy theory world then go ahead. Say high to
Michael, Martin, and Sean while you're there. I hear
Michael has a new game out, Bowling for Bush.

By the way, the FBI is monitoring this list. They know who
you are and where you are going.

Check out that salt shaker the next time you go to McDonalds.

Those little dark glass domes at Wal-Mart hanging from the
ceiling, they're not security cameras, they're really staffed
by the FBI.

That infrared sensor on your remote, it's not just changing
the cable box, it's also sending information to the FBI on
what you are doing when you're at home.

Those utility workers who are always standing on the side of
the road pretending to be working on electric lines and
telephone box. Nope. Their planting surveilance devices.
The utility company and the phone company have been working
with the Government for years.

Here's something to consider: Here it is, election year...

Also, when we all were born, before our skulls hardened,
we were implanted with GPS devices, so the Government can
track us whereever we go.

It's also a secret control device. At the right time,
they'll activate them all and we will be under their
control.

Here's something else to consider...

Microsoft was founded in 1975. Who was running for
President then... Ronald Reagan. That's when it all
began. They didn't win that year, but they made a pact,
Gates would build up Microsoft and then after he
infiltrated all the homes and businesses, he would then
help the Government monitor all it's people.

Think about it. When did Microsoft really take off, in
the 1980's. Who was president then, Ronald Reagan. Why
did IBM go to a pimple face kid to get it's operating
system? Was it because of his technical ability?
Obviously not. Why did IBM stupidly agree to let Gates
keep the rights to MS-DOS? The Government sent IBM to
Gates, and forced them to allow him to keep MS-DOS.
All so they could build up Microsoft to be the source
of all information for the Government.

Why call the next version Windows? Obviously so the
Government would have a window into your life!

But this was all part of the master plan to get George
W. Bush elected president. Doesn't it seem funny that
Reagan made the pact, built up Microsoft, and then who
do we have for President now but the son of Reagan's
second in command.

All along we've been worried about big oil. It really
been big byte!

They waited, and waited, and waited. All along collecting
all kinds of information about you from your computer and
sending it to Microsoft who then fowarded straight to the
Government.

The Election in 2000... Undoubtedly they used Microsoft
product to help count the votes. That's why it came out
in Bush's favor when Gore obviously should have won.

Think your safe with an Apple or Linux. Think again.
Who do you think gave money to Apple so they could stay
afloat? Microsoft. Steven Jobs and Steve Wosniak were
both Microsoft agents. They've kept Apple running along
with it's measly little 2% or 3% of the market so all
the academics would think they're safe. Why do you think
Apple gave away so many Macs?

Linus Torvalis is really a Microsoft agent. Microsoft
gave him the Unix code and told him what information he
needed to collect and how to forward it to them.

Microsoft is also behind all the GNU licensing and it has
worked great. Look at all the foreign governments who are
using Linux and think they're safe.

It's all part of the master plan.

Beware!!!

As pointed out in many news articles of late, the President (Doesn't matter
what party he belongs to) was acting on intelligence provided by our
military and other governmental agencies. If, as Mrs. Rice has recently
stated, the intelligence was flawed, the main concern now should be to find
out why the intel was faulty and what needs to be done to correct it.
Several articles and comments {In all kinds of ways, both subtle and
major, the fact that the White House knew what answer it wanted from the
intelligence community had a very large effect on the way the intelligence
community presented information, says Greg Thielmann, who retired as the
director of the strategic intelligence office at the State Department's
Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) in October 2002. } seem to suggest
that the US wanted to oust SH, but we needed a particular reason to do so.
By spreading propaganda about the imminent threat from Iraq's WMD, the
government made its case in a way that few American's would be willing to
argue against. Please ignore the blatant lie Bush used in his speech when he
declared Iraq was buying (attempting to buy?) uranium from Nigeria. So the
war was on and now its over. (please see the Top Gun plane ride to the

I see that you can't state your opinion without degressing to personal
attacks. So I'll leave you with this short list of things we can thank
Dubya
for. This list, sent to me by a friend, may be accurate or it may not be.
I'm not about to research each topic since I am 'damned stupid and
 uninformed'.

As far as 'the truth', I'm sure you being in the military gives you access
to confidential documents about the war and the search for WMD. There is
obviously no way I can defend my opinions in light of your facts. I'm
assuming you have forwarded your itelligence about the convoys to the
White
House so they can follow-up on your leads. In the meantime, I'll sit tight
and wait for the invasion of Syria to begin. I just hope they don't
pre-empt
the final night of The Bachelorette to show the invasion - I just love
that
 show

 The short list:

*I attacked and took over 2 countries.
*I spent the U.S. surplus and bankrupted the US Treasury.
*I shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in history (not
 easy!).
*I set an economic record for the most personal bankruptcies filed in any
12
 month period.

*I set all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the stock

If you really believe that President BUSH lied - - THAT THERE NEVER WERE
ANY
WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ AND HE TOOK US TO WAR SOLELY FOR HIS
OIL
 BUDDIES -- then read this

One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to
develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them.
That is our bottom line.
   - President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is
clear.
We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of
mass
destruction program.
- President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

Iraq is a long way from [the USA], but what happens there matters a
 great deal
here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use
nuclear,
chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest
security threat we face.
-Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten
times
since 1983.
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the
 U.S.
Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if
 appropriate,
air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively
to
the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass
destruction

In addition,
 Saddam
continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover
 of a
licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will
threaten
the United States and our allies.

Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to
deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam
is
 in

I will be voting to give the President of the United States the
 authority
to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I
believe
that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a
 real
and grave threat to our security.
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working
 aggressively
to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within
 the
next five years ... We also should remember we have always
underestimated
the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass
 destruction.
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years,
 every
significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy
 his
chemical and biological weapons

I truly hope you utilized copy\paste for that stuff below. For someone to

 does believe his\her musings.

As pointed out in many news articles of late, the President (Doesn't
matter
what party he belongs to) was acting on intelligence provided by our
military and other governmental agencies. If, as Mrs. Rice has recently
stated, the intelligence was flawed, the main concern now should be to
find
out why the intel was faulty and what needs to be done to correct it.
} seem to
suggest
that the US wanted to oust SH, but we needed a particular reason to do so.
By spreading propaganda about the imminent threat from Iraq's WMD, the
government made its case in a way that few American's would be willing to
argue against. Please ignore the blatant lie Bush used in his speech when
he
declared Iraq was buying (attempting to buy?) uranium from Nigeria. So the
war was on and now its over. (please see the Top Gun plane ride to the
aircraft carrier for details.) The US is in a bit of a hurt if WMD are not
found. Of course we are not in a bit of a hurt if you choose to ignore the
#1 reason as to why the war was launched: WMD. We can always look back and
say that WMD were never found, but at least the world knows we're not
afraid
to launch an attack on any country we deem 'might' have WMD.

Linus Torvalis is really a Microsoft

Never believe what you read on the Internet.

Please ignore the blatant lie Bush used in his speech when
he declared Iraq was buying (attempting to buy?) uranium
  from Nigeria.

I'd ignore it if it were true, but it's not. He specifically
cited British Intelligence during the speech, British
Intelligence which to this very day is still endorsed by
the British Government. You know, the same British Government
which was just cleared of sexing up its intelligence reports.

So the war was on and now its over. (please see the Top Gun
plane ride to the aircraft carrier for details.)

 You mean this speech:

 http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/05/01/bush.transcript/index.html

I listened that speech and he never said the war was over. He
declared an end to major combat operations, which was
absolutely true, and a progression to securing and
reconstructing the country which is exactly what we are doing.

It was the anti-war group who are perpetuating the lie that it
was a declartion the war was over. But we already know we
can't trust there opinion or judgements, otherwise we would
still be bent over taking it from the French and Russians as
they grease up with their oil contracts.

Several articles and comments seem to suggest that the US
wanted to oust SH, but we needed a particular reason to do

can always look back and say that WMD were never found, but at
least the world knows we're not afraid to launch an attack on
any country we deem 'might' have WMD.

Nothing to ignore. The reason why the war was launched was
because SH had 12 years to demonstrate he had destroyed his
WMD programs and was not pursing them any further.

It's an undisputed fact that he had them and would use them. So
where did they go? Iraq was well know to document the tinest of
details, so where are the document showing that the weapons had
been destroyed. He was building missles to deliver WMD, so why
did he need them if he didn't have any WMD. 4th of July
 celebration?

He was given one last chance, and it was made very clear that it
was one last chance, to submit to full and open inspections.
But he continued to stall and evade? Why?

The reason was clear and the consequences were also. He ignored
 and he paid the price.

Excuse me..North Korea on Line 1

No doubt. Go ahead, launch a missle. Wake the sleeping giant.

I love puppies too. Kittens are fun to watch also.

Sometimes though, puppies are just too sick and need to be put out of their
suffering. It is our responsibility to recognize this situation and act
accordingly. I've had to do this twice within the past year, most recently
on December the 6th.

What I don't get, among other things you write, is why does the assumption
of 'loving your country' and re-electing Dubya have to correspond? Is it
that only the Republicans love their country while the Dem's do not? Please,
enlighten me.

I don't think I have ever said I didn't want Dubya to win or for Kerry to
win the election. Since you seem to have kept my previous emails, you can
check to be sure. Dubya has done some good things, but I can't think of one
right now. What stands out are his errors. Invasion of a country without
irrefutable evidence of there being a threat to the US (while the majority
of the highjackers were Saudi's, we haven't occupied their country. Uh,
wait...yes we have occupied their countryand are still therem),
still no WMD, porous borders with a proposal to legalize all the illegals
presently in this country.

I guess his tax cuts helped someone. Although the State of Alabama
essentially raised our taxes and wiped out the Federal tax break.

All in all, I lean toward the Republican side more than the Dem's, but that
doesn't mean I'll wrap myself in the flag and believe everything Dubya says
or proposes. Don't tell me its raining while you're pissing down my leg. I
think his war effort is a farce and has caused the US great embarrassment in
the world order. We invaded Iraq to liberate the people from the repressive
dictatorship that ruled the country and\or to seize the massive stockpiles
of WMD that posed an imminent threat to the US. So far, Bush is 1-1.

I just wonder sometimes what the $120+ billion spent so far could have done
here at home. That equates to about $2.4 billion per state. Enough to spade
and neuter all the pets with money leftover to get all of them a chew-bone
or a squeaky toy.

In the meantime, I'll be working on my Perot in '08 poster.

Re: [RollTideFan] September 11 Audio Tapes

2004-01-29 Thread Joe Goodson

Did you
ever stop to think that we stopped an evil, oppressive, mass murdering
dictator and freed a terrorized populace ON TOP of enforcing 17 UN
Resolutions that Hussein thumbed his nose at for over 12 years while he
built oppulant palaces while his people starved? And everyone is saying
that he did not have WMD.blah, blah, blah. EVERYBODY in the UN knew
that he had WMD. Israel observed many military convoys going from Iraq into
Syria in the weeks preceding the war. What pray tell was in those convoys?
If he did not have WMD, then why didn't he just comply with the UN weapon's
inspectors? HMMM? All of this crap could have been avoided if he had only
complied with the treaty that he signed in 1992! But you don't want to
think about the truththat would make reality impact and you would be
forced to admit how damned stupid and uninformed you really are.
