So I'd found a company that makes keyboard membranes and send them a Sam membrane to look at... The company has given me a cost statement and sadly I think its too expensive. 100 Sam membranes would cost about 8 Pounds each, but because it's the first run they have to adjust their machines etc. which costs about 800 Pounds as a one time fee... In the end each membrane (at least the first 100) would cost about 17 Pounds... I don't think I can sell 100 membranes, I'll see if I can find a cheaper factory but don't get your hopes up... You may ask people send you messages with their names, amount of membranes they would like to have and a price they can pay per each membrane. I've already done that a couple of weeks ago, 5 for 15 Pounds 13 for 10 Pounds Hardly enough don't you think? The same here - it's only a matter of time before this membrane goes, so I'll need a couple more. Also, my mouse interface seems to be getting dodgy. Does anyone still tinker with them? -howard I'm in the process of talking to a company to have them create new SAM keyboard membranes, I'm sending them one to look at... Before I complete an order with them I have to have some sort of idea how many I should order and how much people would be willing to spend on a membrane (excluding postage from the Netherlands to you)... My idea is if they'll do it to get them to make 100 which may keep the price low enough to be interesting... So guys, please tell me I will not be stuck with 100 membranes myself (I only need 3) ? Hi Frans. In our SPC magazin December 2000 and also in January/February 2001 I had the same theme. In connection with MacBuster (Hi, I know you read this) we have tried to find a company in Russia which did such membranes. MacBuster had found one, they would do them for about a price of 2-3 US$/piece (very cheep!) when they could produce 100 pieces of them. When it came to an order, they said no, to less pieces. I have talked with Thomas Eberle from Sintech. He had also an producer for membranes as he sold Spectrum membranes. He wrotes me, that by a mass of 100 pieces he can sold them for 40 DM per piece (wich is about 12 british Pounds). Also he would pre-pay for the production at his own risk. It would be for my interest, what price you can handle out. It makes no sense, that two person runs in the same direction. So if you have a good offer, let me and all of us know about. For the Spectrum and SAM Profi Club I think I can say, that by an reasonable price 10 membranes would be needed. Less if they are very expensive, more when they are in the range I think about up to 10 british Pound (about 35 nfl or 30 german Mark). Wish you every effort!
