I'd like to see this. From what I know of Forth, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for us to disassemble it... Right? Simon Goodwin suggested some improvements to it. Okay. Sounds fun! Someone must surely have a copy? I've never really used Forth on any 8-bitter (only Sun's OBP). How good was compatability between different Forth implementations? How were programs saved -- as tokens, or plain text? I also have a version of Jupiter Ace Forth which ran on a SAM. It is not an emulator and requires an amended version of the Jupiter Ace ROM. In 1991 we were not sure of the legality of it, but the Ace ROM is now freely available in the internet. Ooh, I'd love to see that. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem, but how 'free' is it? John Avis wrote: Does anyone have a copy of SamForth ? It's not a title I own, unfortunately, so I don't have a handy image of it for you. Steve Parry-Thomas may well do though... my Samforth disk refuses to mutate into .dsk format If you're using a fairly recent SimCoupe build, select /dev/fd0 for drive 1 and try booting from the original disk. I'd still be surprised if it's copy-protected, unless Chris Pile had anything to do with it ;-) I'll also be in touch off the list to see what we can do to create an image of it, just in case nobody else has one. Re: SamForth
Hi John,I may be wrong, but SAM has not got a Forth,..Yet! unless, you are using a Forth83 via Pro-Dos? Which, in that case download the FDos disk images here http://www.samcoupe-pro-dos.co.uk/fdos_download.htmldisk 8 has the Forth on it, as seen here http://www.samcoupe-pro-dos.co.uk/cpmforth.htmlor mail me off list. That said, was there a Forth written on a diskzine? I'm sure, I read somewhere that there was such a file but, I don't have it. I would like to thou. Update... Sam Supplement seems to have a SamForth on the Christmas Special.I have not used it or seen it but will now look into it spt Over seven years, between September 1990 and September 1997 60 disks were produced (including the double disk issue 12) plus sundry extras like the Christmas Special, SAM Forth, and games compiled by Supplement publishers Daton. http://www.simon.mooli.org.uk/snarf/SUPPLEMENT/
