At school we have Digital Unix with built-in (Digital) cc (C compiler), but we have installed gcc too. The main reason I like gcc is that sources for gcc are fully portable to any operating system. If you aren't able to compile your gcc sources in your compiler, you can always install gcc. Also gcc is always in (i.e. follows latest standards - at least as far as possible). ...sorry for another reply... I only want to say: Windows' C compilers are better compatible with Unix than other people may think. Many people in the past said: You can't use this or that on Win32. Re: SAM on eBay - Messenger
It seems that Messenger saves 64k files. So you have a copy of ZX-ROM in each file. In our country we call this: "walking around a hot pap" In other words they (MGT) have no rights to include ZX ROM in Sam's ZX emulator, so they made a greatnothing: Messenger, which copies ROM to Sam. If you simply loads the rom: load "zxrom"code 65536 before starting that old very simple emulator provided with Sam, you can then run it and load and run almost any software. The only problem is tape. But most of the "protected" tapes work well, as I tried.
