Re: [Samba] Problem of: Trust relationship between 2 linux domains
Maybe you can describe a little more your setup (NET-DOMAINS-DC-machines) Do you have Winbind up and running ? Does wbinfo -t show that the truted domain is OK ? Can you see the trusted domain users/group with wbinfo -u/-g ? I think that I had resolution problems even with using the same WINS. I had to create an LMHOST files on both DCs. [Samba] Problem of: Trust relationship between 2 linux domains
Hi, I've read John H Terpstra's discussion on Google Groups about Trust Relationship between 2 linux domains. http://groups.google.com/group/linux.samba/browse_thread/thread/61ca10be6b510910/472abfdb7bf62c34?lnk=gstq=trust+relationship#472abfdb7bf62c34 Follow these instructions, i 've done but there were errors, can you help me? When I used WinXP, it listed 2 domains, but I can't log in the remote domain! The error was: THE SYSTEM CANNOT LOG YOU ON NOW BECAUSE THE DOMAIN DOM2 IS NOT AVAILABLE I think the problem was when I typed on DOM1 command: net rpc trustdom establish dom2, the result was: Enter DOM1$'s password: Could not connect to server DOM2LN Trust to domain DOM2 established (note: DOM2LN is the computername of DOM2 domain). But the trusting and trusted domain were also showed in list command! Since this morning, some computers, mainly the ones with Windows 7, are getting trust relationship problems and I cannot find the source of the problem. Any new ideas? You need to re add the systems back to the domain after the trust expires. The registry entries are to prevent the expiration not to fix an already expired trust. Hi John and others, Tks for the feedback. I tried the configs you showed to me and unfortunally did not work. Also, there is a [small] number of windows xp and vista getting the same problem too. Any new ideas? You need to re add the systems back to the domain after the trust expires. The registry entries are to prevent the expiration not to fix an already expired trust. The easy way to test is to use the Windoze network wizard and keep the name the same. If the join works and on reboot the trust works then it is most definately the machine pass issue.
