I am very happy to be welcoming you to the group! It's overdue on our
part. It's really great to have you onboard. This is a license to
learn. There will be questions. Ask away! It's a team effort.
Learning in this case is somewhat like the game of Colossal Cave
Adventure. Go explore! Ask questions. Have fun! :-)

[Savannah-hackers-public] Welcome Svetlana!

2023-11-02 Thread Corwin Brust
I'm pleased to announce Svetlana (irc: gry) has joined the Savannah
Hackers. You may have already noticed her helping reviewing
submissions and participating in other discussions, and agree with me
this is simply due recognition of her contributions with --in the fine
tradition of all volunteer lead projects-- more work :)

She starts as an apprentice with limited shell access (but full site
access, now granted). She is particularly interested in working on
localization and helping us be a "front door" for people to learn and
grow excited about Free Software.

Thank you in advance for joining me in welcoming her to the team and
introducing her further to the insides of our project!

Corwin

Yes, it is not your problem. I would have closed the ticket if I'd known how
to.

After 2020, nobody requested membership. Closing without developing a Savane
feature to reject requests in 'dead' groups.

Out of curiosity: doesn't this reproduce with other window managers? I would
expect it does.

At any rate, it looks like a release-specific bug, so it doesn't seem to me
that the efforts to find out a workaround will be justified.
