Re: [Savonet-users] Fwd: jack output blank...

2010-09-16 Thread Simon Renquin
Not really I must say. I did a small test where I was unable to hear
sound but everything seemed to be ok. I then had another project and
some holidays which brings me today.

We are now using a little hack over mplayer which does not do
everything as well as liquidsoap but works for now. (But I can't wait
to be able to reintroduce liquidsoap on our streams!)

Yours,
Simon

I can confirm a bug. I've had a freeze after a couple of hours
 here..

While we work on this bug, I just saw that pulseaudio can send and
 receive
 data from jack:
  http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio#Pulseaudio_through_JACK

Maybe you could use jack through the pulseaudio input/output in
 liquidsoap..

Sorry, I have had no time to work on this issue until now.

I am curious: did you try to do jack via pulse audio ?

I've got a similar problem. I'm running a Web radio and I'm using
liquidsoap to stream our station to an Icecast server. We've set up a
cron job to kill and restart our stream at 1 AM and everyday our stream
crashes at 14:31:38 with an Alsa.Unknown_error. I'm also running 0.9.2

That's interesting..

Since the crash is so regular, I wonder if there could be another
process/script run at this time by a cron for instance that would cause the
crash ?
