That's right folks. The original creators of the once loved Mighty Morphin
Power Rangers have reacquired the rights to the teenage super hero crew.
Haim Saban's newly created Saban Brands stepped up to the plate and snagged
the rights back from Disney, who has owned the franchise since they acquired
Fox Family back in 2001, according to Variety.

DNA shows Adolf Hitler likely to have had Jewish or African roots, reports
 Daily Mail. Photographer: Keystone/Getty Images

Adolf Hitler may have been descended from both Jews and Africans, DNA
tests are indicating, the Daily Mail reported.

Journalist Jean-Paul Mulders and historian Marc Vermeeren used DNA to
trace 39 of the Nazi leader’s relatives earlier this year, the Daily Mail
 said.

The relatives included an Austrian farmer, indentified only as a cousin
named Norbert H, the Daily Mail reported.

A chromosome called Haplogroup E1b1b, or Y-DNA, in the relatives’ saliva
samples is rare in Germany, as well as Western Europe, the newspaper said.

It is most commonly found in the Berbers of Morocco, in Algeria, Libya
and Tunisia as well as among Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews, Vermeeren said.

Mulders told Belgian magazine Knack that [o]ne can from this postulate
that Hitler was related to people whom he despised, the Daily Mail
 reported.

 Evil

 By [ http://thephoenix. com/Boston/ Authors/EDITORIA L/ ]EDITORIAL | August
 11, 201

Want evidence that Google is just another avaricious, monopoly-minded
corporate behemoth? Consider this: Google has retreated from its long-held
support for net neutrality and teamed with Verizon to suggest that new
laws allow Internet providers to favor some Web services over others.
Google and Verizon also want Congress to exempt mobile devices from net
neutrality and to limit the Federal Communications Commission's regulation
 of the Internet.

Google and Verizon have proposed this in a very simple and undeniably
clever way, which - unless thoughtfully considered - appears to be
 eminently reasonable.

Under this plan, the Internet as it now exists and is currently understood
would remain net neutral. All content would be treated as equal.

The Internet as it develops in the future, however, would be different.
 Tiered service would be allowed.

In other words, the giant corporate providers who effectively govern
access and regulate traffic would be able to give preferential treatment
to certain content or content providers.

This is, in and of itself, a nasty piece of snake-oil salesmanship,
especially given the speed and unpredictability with which the digital
world evolves. But when mobile access is stirred into the brew, it becomes
positively toxic. All trends favor more and more mobile access. Morgan
Stanley predicts that within five years, the mobile Web will outstrip the
 desktop Internet.

Given the extent to which the Internet governs economic development and
the extent to which it is the medium for free speech, it is clear that the
Google-Verizon plan is bad news. So much for Google's motto, Don't be
 evil.

To understand this pledge, it must be considered in context. The pithy
slogan appears as the first three words in Google's corporate code of
conduct governing relations with investors. Yet no corporation can
survive, let alone thrive, without turning a profit. So it stands to
reason that Googlers (yes, that's how the company refers to its employees)
may have a less restricted view of how to interpret the motto than, say,
 the world's non-Googlers.

If net neutrality were a simple code of conduct, then the FCC last year
defined it as follows: providers cannot favor their own content; they need
 to explain when and why variable Internet speeds are imposed on consumers;
and they can not limit access to lawful content.

As neat and clean as these principles seem, their implementation could
prove to be difficult to impossible, thanks to the Court of Appeals for
the DC Circuit, which in April ratified rules adopted by the Bush
administration that were intended to derail Internet regulation.

The court's decision undoubtedly contributed to the break-up last week of
the closed-door discussions the FCC was holding with big Internet
corporate players. Whether those talks should have been conducted in
secret is now a moot point. But the parallels with former first lady
 Hillary Clinton's private health-care deliberations and Vice-President
Dick Cheney's closed energy sessions are certainly troubling.

Power, of course, abhors a vacuum. So while Google's joint proposal with
Verizon was a vicious slap in the face to advocates of net neutrality

(CNN) -- Spain won the World Cup for the first time as an extra-time goal

A game littered with no less than 13 yellow cards and one red was settled by

His 116th-minute strike was the goal all Spaniards were waiting for and

The goal came after the Dutch had been reduced to 10 men, after John Heitinga

It's incredible, Iniesta told gathered media in a post-match press

The International Basketball League seems to have no national broadcasts

During the tournament, the World Baseball Classic is shown on ESPN2.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are many national broadcasts for FIBA

If they were to do a rewrite I guess that they could change the focus of the

a book or comic. Or a remake to a movie or comic book based movie. What title
would you put on the list?

Here are some examples that should have never been made:

Cat in the hat
The Punisher
Max Payne (Max Payne was a cooler video game version of the Punisher without

Anything written by Anne Rice (If you can't do it right don't write it.)

What would you add to this?

So I've been trying to write a review for this film for 3 days now. It's THAT
 BAD.

But one thing I wanna say straight away: It's not the race of the actors that
ruins this film. It's a horribly written, horribly directed picture. And it
didn't need to be. I can see this working with the cast he chose, honestly,
but
the actors are horribly directed. The MAIN problem seems to be the dialogue.
I'm
AMAZED that the same person who did Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs did
this
film. It's like M.Night is really two people. If you get the good one, you
get
a great film with great attention to detail and solid dialogue...even some
humor. But if you get the OTHER guy...sheesh. The Last Airbender's poster
should say from the director of The Happening and The Lady In The Water.
 Not the good films.

Let me be clear. This film makes the live-action Dragonball look like a
classic. It makes Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li look like THAT
should
have been in 3-D. The Last Airbender should be the best action movie of the
decade, and instead it's an over-the-top mess.

a big, beautiful contender with an almost-Imax screen (4.3 inches

The Droid X battery gets you through a full day easily, Pogue continues,

there's also Verizon's expensive but not-call-dropping network, as well as
the
handset's ability to act as a mobile hotspot for other Wi-Fi devices. That

the Droid X isn't for everyone, Pogue warns, saying that the absolutely
huge
shell makes you feel as if you're talking into a frozen waffle when you're

the

said,
the Droid X isn't for everyone, Pogue warns, saying that the absolutely huge
shell makes you feel as if you're talking into a frozen waffle when you're
making a call, and that although Android is a great OS for technically
proficient high-end users, it's more complicated and less polished than
Apple's iOS.

   California
startup HDI is already creating buzz with the 100-inch laser-based 3D
HDTV it’s been demoing. If the claims made by the company rep I
corresponded with today turn out to be true, we could be looking at a
Holy Grail of sorts for the next generation of television.
According to the spokesperson, the set draws 80-percent less power
than a 100-inch plasma, which equates to 200 watts instead of 1.5
kilowatts. More green claims about HDI technology: It reduces
manufacturing pollution by 95 percent and offers a 60-percent cut in
chemical and radioactive materials compared to current HDTV
manufacturing. HDI also says that its technology could be used by a
third-party manufacturer to create the laser set that would have a
street price 60-percent lower than an equivalently sized plasma. Of
course, that plasma would set you back 50 grand, more or less, so you
wouldn’t be an 100-inch HDI-powered TV at Wal-mart, but the
manufacturer could create a smaller set (say, 65 or 70 inches) with a
market that wouldn’t exclusively be multimillionaires. As for such a
manufacturers, HDI would not comment on if it was in discussion with
any to actually produce this set commercially.
The HDI prototype’s most eye-popping spec is its 1080Hz refresh
rate, which means that over 1,000 frames per second are being sent to
each eye (for the brain to pull together as the 3D effect). The rep
claims that it solves the issues with shutter-based 3D glasses, such as
the nausea and headache that some people suffer from after watching 3D
video using slower refresh rates. I guess it would be a (literal) case
of seeing is believing.
HDI has been invited to be part of Intel CTO Justin Rattner’s
keynote address on the future of television at the upcoming Intel
Developers Conference later this week. The company also quotes Steve
Wozniak’s reaction to a demo of the laser 3D TV: “Without a doubt, this
is the best demonstration of 3D technology I have ever seen.” The
question that remains for the rest of us is when will the viewing
public get a demonstration of the technology in the form of a set it
can purchase.

First of all, if you are creating the sexiest woman, you don't start with a

For my money, the sexiest blue woman was the pregnant Sue Storm as essayed by

In 1968, Mr. Kirby couldn't realistically portray Sue Storm's pregnancy (they
never showed a baby bump) he blew up Sue's breasts and gave her a stupid hip to
waist ratio.

Zing! went the strings of my 12 year-old heart! Alas, the powers that be had
Kirby tone down Sue's bodaciousness in the next issue and for the rest of his

A lot of people forget that AOL actually bought Time Warner. Back then, they
was making money hand over fist mainly due to the lack of ISP's in rural or
non-metropolitan areas. Back then, AOL was the world's largest ISP, in fact, I
still used them until about 6 years ago. AOL hung on for a while longer because
a lot of people didn't know about or couldn't afford broadband. Once the
telco's and cable companies started offering broadband at decent prices, AOL
died on the vine. As usual, AOL execs are at fault because they didn't see the
obvious coming and waited too late to change the business model. Frankly, I'm
surprised shareholders allowed the companies to stay merged for so long.

You've Got Freedom: AOL ends ties with Time Warner

By RACHEL METZ

AOL is shaking loose from Time Warner Inc. and heading into the next decade
the way it began this one, as an independent company. Unlike the 1990s,
though, when AOL got rich selling dial-up Internet access, it starts the
2010s as an underdog, trying to beef up its Web sites and grab more
advertising revenue.

Despite a few bright spots in its portfolio of sites, such as tech blog
Engadget, AOL has a long way to go until Web advertising can replace the
revenue it still gets from selling dial-up Internet access. One especially
popular property, entertainment site TMZ, is a joint venture with a Time
Warner unit that will keep TMZ and its revenue after AOL splits off.

Now investors are getting a chance to place bets on AOL. On Wednesday, Time
Warner shareholders as of Nov. 27 will get one share of AOL for every 11 of
their Time Warner shares. The next morning, AOL CEO Tim Armstrong is set to
ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, and AOL will begin
trading under the ticker symbol of the same name -- the one it had when it
was known as America Online and used $147 billion worth of its inflated stock
to buy Time Warner in 2001.

140 characters? 'Nuff said
By Mark Milian

Tribune Newspapers

May 12, 2009

To understand how the wizards of Twitter settled on 140 as the magic number of
characters in a single tweet, you have to go back two decades to Bonn, Germany.

One day in 1985, Friedhelm Hillebrand sat at the typewriter in his home there,
tapping out random sentences and questions on a sheet of paper.

As he went along, the communications researcher counted the number of letters,
numbers, punctuation marks and spaces on the page. The blurbs nearly always
clocked in under 160 characters.

This is perfectly sufficient, he recalled thinking. Perfectly sufficient.

Hillebrand and a dozen others had been developing plans to standardize a
technology that would allow cellphones to transmit and display text messages.

Because of the tight bandwidth constraints of the wireless networks at the time
-- they were used mostly for car phones -- each message would have to be as
short as possible.

Before his typewriter experiment, Hillebrand argued with a friend about whether
160 characters provided enough space to communicate most thoughts. My friend
said this was impossible for the mass market, Hillebrand said. I was more
optimistic.

His optimism was warranted. Americans last year started sending more texts than
they made cellphone calls, according to a report from research firm Nielsen
Mobile.

It's been a boon for telecoms. Giants Verizon Wireless and ATT Inc. each
charge 20 to 25 cents a message, or $20 a month for unlimited texts.

Just 10 years ago, however, there were none. Verizon Wireless adopted the
technology in the early part of this decade as a way to deliver daily news and
weather forecasts to cellphone users.

Later, mobile-to-mobile communication took footing in America, but even then,
users could communicate only with people on the same carrier. It really
hindered the growth, Verizon spokesman John Johnson said.

But adoption skyrocketed when telecoms pushed CTIA -- the Wireless Assn., an
industry trade group, to set American standards for interoperability and short
codes (the five-digit numbers used in text-in voting systems like those on
American Idol), Johnson said..

Twitter, the fastest-growing online social network, which is being adopted
practically en masse by politicians, celebrities and news outlets, has its very
DNA in text messaging.

To avoid the need for splitting text messages into multiple parts, the creators
of Twitter capped the length of a tweet at 140 characters. They reserved the
extra 20 for the user's unique address.

In 1985, of course, the thirty-something guys who invented Twitter were
probably still playing with Matchbox cars.

Hillebrand's unscientific investigations at his typewriter gave him new
confidence in the ability of 160 characters to be useful while not tying up too
much space on the carriers' networks. And he was in position to push the
format; he was serving as chairman of the non-voice services committee within
the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), a group that sets standards
for the majority of the global mobile market.

All cellular carriers and mobile phones must support the short message service
(SMS), the group decreed in 1986.

The group included Matti Makkonen, who is sometimes credited as the inventor
of text messaging because of an oft-translated Finnish newspaper article in
2002. Makkonen now refuses to accept

2009-03-08 Thread Gerald Haynes
OK, I saw Watchmen Friday and, quite frankly, I didn't like it. I haven't read
the comic but I was hoping that the film would stand on its own. I am aware
that the comic is an icon within the genre and I do plan on reading it once the
hype dies down and I can find it for a reasonable price. As I was walking out
of the theater, I thought to myself that the audience for this thing will drop
dramatically next weekend.

I understood the symbolism and the over-arching statement of the story, but it
just didn't work as a movie. Maybe if I'd read the comic before watching it I
would have a different opinion, but that shouldn't be the case.

The problem nowadays is that everything is too micro-analyzed and watched.
Whether it's Obama's performance, TV series, or movies, they are monitored on a
minute-by-minute, second-by-second basis. A sixty-plus million dollar haul is
great for a nearly three-hour, R-rated movie based on a comic that most
people outside the fanbase never heard of. And even among comic fans, the
majority have never read Watchmen. So, while the hype might have been way up
there, i personally try to avoid it. I think it's doing well, it will do fairly
well the next few weeks, even if box office drops greatly. It'll do well in
countries like Britian where they appreciate a little more intelligent fare,
and then it'll have great legs on DVD.

But people calling this a failure? Well, that's the problem with Hollywood
nowadays. Nothing gets a chance to prove itself in the long haul.

Watchmen's First Day... Disappoints
By Graeme McMillan, 9:00 AM on Sat Mar 7 2009, 15,320 views
Well, this wasn't what we expected. According to initial estimations, Watchmen
made less money in its first day than Zack Snyder's 300, despite playing in
more theaters. Has the backlash happened early?
According to Exhibitor Relations, Watchmen made $25.1 million yesterday,
including the $4.6 million from the Thursday night screenings, from 3,611
theaters; 300's first day gross was $28.1 million from 3,103 theaters.. The box
office tracking site now projects an opening weekend gross for Snyder's latest
movie of around $60 million, which is below 300's $70.8 million... as well as,
worryingly for Warners, Ice Age 2, the movie to hold the March opening weekend
record prior to the swords and Spartans flick. Deadline Hollywood's Nikki Finke
agrees, saying that [i]t's now certain that $70M, even if Thursday's 1,600
midnight shows are included in the total, is impossible, and quoting an
unnamed marketing guru warning that things could get worse:
They will get a lot of initial interest because it's an event movie in March —
and then the bottom falls out. Whether Warner Bros can broaden the campaign to
sustain interest in Watchmen is what movie analysts will be watching after this
Sunday.
While there's no doubting that Watchmen's opening weekend will be huge - at $60
million, it'll still be the third largest March opening ever - it's far below
what now look, in hindsight, like unrealistic expectations; even yesterday,
after all, we were being told that advance tickets were outselling 300 and that
that a $70 million weekend was the target (although /Film pretty much hit the
target with their estimate of $63 million in the first weekend). Now, because
of such excitement - and because 300 was being set up as the movie to compare
this to, Watchmen's big weekend looks somewhat less impressive. But who knows?
Maybe word of mouth will boost the movie's Saturday and Sunday.

Which ep was that one? Is it the one when the people flee their planet in a
spaceship because they fear nuclear annihilation is nigh?
You're so right about the depth of the show. Even now, I will catch an ep I've
never seen before--or at least, not in its entirety. I'm still amazed at the
power of such shows.

SO ahead of his time with these episodes, and top 10 lists that

series has some of the best writing and acting on TV right now.
I've seen most of the Zone eps many times over: Anthony, the evil
little kid who sends bad people to the cornfield... William
Shatner freaking out at the gremlin jumping on the wing of his
plane during a storm...the diabolical little Talking Tina doll
who determines to kill abusive stepdad Telly Savalas...Robert
Redford's TV debut as the handsome spirit of Death stalking a
fearful old woman... --and on and on.

Some of the shows are a bit dated now, if only because their
endings are no longer a surprise to someone steeped in decades of
scifi lore (such as the man and woman astronauts stranded on an
unknown planet who at the end reveal their names to be Adam and
Eve). But despite that, the Zone is still an engaging, intelligent,
and relevant show. One can't help watch the ep where everyone is
forced to get a new body as a teen, even though all the bodies look
alike, without thinking of the group think the soon departing
administration foisted on this country. Or how can you look at
Burgess Meredith's bookish character, sentenced to death for being
obsolete in a State where reading old books and the Bible is
banned, and not feel the sting of fundamentalists who try to force
one moral stricture on all people? All of it wrapped in some of the
best writing TV's ever seen, with Rod Serling and others' sharp
dialogue firing off like the writings of a great play, language
  wielded like a fine to
ol, with even the names of the characters a treat. And who can
forget Serling himself, delivering that inimitable clipped-speak
  that introduces each show.

Twilight Zone may be older than me, its shows all black and white
and lacking in fancy CGI and FX, its plots sometimes predictable.
But it still has messages that resonate at any time, warnings we
all need to heed, humour we can all share, and a professionalism of
writing and acting that i wish more creators nowadays would mimic.

Netflix Friends allows you to share movie ideas and notes with your
friends. First you invite friends to connect with you and when they
accept, they are part of your Friends list. With Netflix friends, you
can see what each of your friends think about specific movies, suggest
movies them and add comments next to films that will help your friends
choose movies or avoid those you didn't enjoy.

So lets see if those of us who get films from Netflix, can all come
together via Netflix to make recommendations to eachother, share
reviews, and who knows what.

I have a 30gb iPod that I have used for 2 years now. I like it, but it's

For an extremely cheap player: Creative Zen Stone. Video review here:

 Since you asked:

First and foremost, if I layout money for an MP3 Player, I want to

 be

able to drag and drop what I want on to and off of the player. I do

not want to have to use proprietary software to use the device. I

definitely do not want the software to attempt to convert my

 library

to another file format automatically. Additionally, any software

 that

comes with the device should be super intuitive and easy to use.

 (If

as an avid and well seasoned mp3 collector, I need a For Dummies

 book

to use your MP3 software, it's a failure.)

Additionally, the device should be smart enough to automatically

 sort

my files in the file folders as they are arranged on my computer

drive. I went to a lot of trouble to organize them. The device

 should

be able to accomodate and understand a simple filing system

automatically and display it back to me on screen. Also, the player

should sync easily and readily with any purchasing site that I want

to use rather than simply the manufacturer' s site. Finally, battery

replacement should be simple and affordable.

I've got a fifty dollar one gig player that can do all these

 things.

It lacks some of the more robust features of the I-pod but it has

better basic functionality. The I-Pod has a lot of bells and

 whistles

but it's basic functioning is utter and completely worthless. I

 might

even be willing to overlook these issues with the I-Pod if the

 price

were more reasonable and I did not suspect that the shortcomings

 were

designed on purpose to keep my in financial servitude to the

 device's

 manufacturer.

Re: [scifinoir2] Bill Maher Kicks Butt

2007-10-21 Thread Gerald Haynes
So, who can a person with liberal leanings rally behind? Politicians
(Democratic party mostly) mire in double speak to appeal to the masses. There
aren't a lot of options. Talk radio (with the exception of Air America) is
right wing. In spite of how much the right wing claims it to be, television
news has been and is beginning to lean even more to the right with Glenn Beck,
Fox News, etc. The right wing machine drummed Dan Rather out in disgrace
because the documents he used weren't the originals NOT because they weren't
true. It's to the point where left leaning folks have to look HARD for unbiased
journalism, so it seems appropriate that they flock to anyone in the news and
entertainment media that share their own opinions. Maybe that's the problem of
which you speak.

I've often said that America NEEDS a third party. A party of the middle class.
Maybe if we ever take the money out of politics through public financing, it
would be possible.

Honestly, it did ruin the show.

While it's true that Real Time and The Daily Show aren't public forums

for the audience's agenda, when you run a show that is live with no

commercials and you lean on the audience for laughs, you set the illusion

that the show is run by the audience. This doesn't happen on the Daily

Show. I've attended some tapings of that show, and you're not sneaking in

with huge signs. How this happened at CBS Studios is beyond me. It's a

potentially dangerous situation, and in my opinion, Bill handled this

horribly.

It is a symptom of a larger problem.

Bill Maher is a comedian. Jon Stewart is a comedian. Stephen Colbert and

Whoopi Goldberg are comedians. Rallying behind comedians who have large

audiences because they are saying things that sound like common sense is

no more logical than the folks who swear by something because it was on

Fox. Corporate people-herding is how we got into this problem (and by

problem, I mean the stripping of personal freedoms). Forming a new clique

and not questioning the would-be leadership of the new clique is silly.

Bill Maher is not a leader. He is a guy with a show.

However, those hecklers simply reinforced the perception that anyone who

what the hecklers did is no solution. I hope they realize this and seek

2007-09-01 Thread Gerald Haynes
This is actually a more sinister plot being hatched by Universal. They are
cutting out iTunes as much as possible if not altogether. Universal has begun
to offer portions of their new music DRM free, but not on iTunes. This move is
in line with their feud with Apple over iTunes' pricing structure. I've also
heard that they are working on other partnerships to offer their content
digitally. So, it's not that Universal isn't going to offer their content on
the web, or even offer it a higher price. It just won't be offered on iTunes.

Don't expect to get your fix of Battlestar Galactica, Heroes or even

Bionic Woman through iTunes this coming season.

NBC Universal, the parent company of networks including NBC and the

SciFi Channel, has decided to pull the plug on its offerings with

Apple's iTunes service, eliminating what was the computer company's

 largest supplier of videos.

The issues aren't with quality or the number of downloads. Instead, it

seems the two sides couldn't agree to financial terms. And now there's

rumblings that NBCU might be taking a route similar to Viacom in looking

 to start a competing service.

According to the New York Times, this parting of the ways seems to be

the latest battle in an overall war between media outlets and Apple over

pricing. NBCU will now joined the Universal Music Group -- which is part

of Universal's old company Vivendi -- as not maintaining full-time

contracts with Apple. NBCU's programs would be available until November

when the company's two-year deal is set to expire.

NBCU says its most popular shows sold through iTunes are Battlestar

Galactica, The Office and Heroes, but company officials say they

have not been reassured that Apple is tackling piracy issues which are

plaguing the shows on the Internet. However, that doesn't mean that the

two sides may not return to the negotiating table and hammer out an

agreement before the current contract expires in December.

Some of the complaints coming from nearly every entertainment company

that uses iTunes (except ABC and Disney, since Apple CEO Steve Jobs sits

on the board) are that selling shows for $2 is too cheap. NBCU is

looking to try and maximize profits by bundling some of its programming

together, like having the Steve Carell film The 40-Year-Old Virgin

with Carell's hit series The Office.

Apple, however, has resisted such moves, saying that keeping prices

consistent and simplified is one of the reasons iTunes has become one of

the leaders in music and television content providers.

Re: [scifinoir2] NBC, iTunes Part Ways On Series Downloads

2007-09-01 Thread Gerald Haynes
More to the point, entertainment companies NEVER liked Jobs' price structure in
iTunes. They always thought the prices were too low but they agreed to go along
because 1) distributing through iTunes was a quick and easy way to offer an
alternative to file sharing and they were desperate and 2) iTunes came with a
quantifiable audience: iPod owners. Now that Jobs has shown them that people
are willing to pay for downloads, greed and arrogance have come to the
forefront for the executives of media companies like Viacom and Universal. They
have totally ignored Jobs' theory of attractive price point and now believe
people will pay whatever they ask for digital content. Proving yet again that
old media still doesn't completely get the way new media works.

NBC Orders Second Heroes Series
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0id=41492

NBC announced that it has ordered six segments of a new series called
Heroes: Origins, which will air in the main show's Monday-night timeslot
when it goes on hiatus, Variety reported.

The new series will center on new characters that haven't yet been
introduced on the original show, and will feature an interactive
element. Viewers will have a chance to vote for their favorite
character, who will later cross over to the regular Heroes.

According to Variety, the move is intended to avoid repeats, which have
been earning record low ratings this year on all five networks.

I hope they were able to re-sign the entire writing
staff. When Futurama first premiered, I wasn't
impressed, but what hooked me over time was the
writing. Chracters where fleshed out beyond
stereotypes and the interaction was great.

 Futurama Pulls a Family Guy

Comedy Central is going back to the Futurama.

Three years after the show last aired on prime time,
 the cable net has
signed a deal to resurrect the former Fox animated
 series for a minimum
 13-episode run.

The great part was when he eventually came across
