Yes, with ol' Barney Collins (fast way to make a real DS fan mad, if you're interested) pining away for Victoria because she was the spitting image of his lost Josie. Heck, you could make a case for him being the first emo. Re: [scifinoir2] Depp Bites Into Dark Shadows
³Dark Shadows²...man. Besides ³Blake¹s 7², one of the most BRITISH series ever to grace American television, and by British, I mean...bloody miserable. I don¹t even think the series WAS British, but man was it ever representing. It was a delightfully miserable show about nothing, and that was the whole point. I remember this show coming on at the same time on ABC that the After School Specials would run, which was after Battle Of the Planets and Transformers. This was a time before Oprah...a time where it was either ³Dark Shadows², ³Donahue², or gasp -- do your homework. (but then what would I do at 11:30PM after Space:1999 went off on Channel 11?) I am almost ashamed to say I am happy to see that Johnny Depp is involved, because besides Alan Rickman, I can¹t see many other actors truly getting the unnecessarily dark and eerie nature of this property. This could quite possibly be the funniest thing ever filmed with a straight face. Y¹all know that this means ³Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman² is coming soon, right? Maybe they should just re-do everything EVER done in the genre. ³Abbott and Costello Go To Mars²...²Forbidden Planet²...²The Black Hole²...²They Live²...²C.H.U.D.²...²Night of the Comet²(hmmm, that one actually might work.). Beginning August 1, the next 30 movies that come on at 4am on any network should be remade. Re: [scifinoir2] Depp Bites Into Dark Shadows
Actually, from what I gather from it's fans, is what makes it so good is that it's so BAD! the shoddy production, the subpar but entertainning scipts, and the overall campiness of the show is what makes the show popular...Plus, it's it the first and only soap opera of its kind! I personally did not watch it, but I remember my older brother and sister (two out of nine of us) used to watch it religiously...
