I personally never have called them "birls", always "cuts". I've heard
cuttings on the mando before. It can be done! :-)

We appreciate your suggestions. With that in mind we will chronologically
list the International touring performers first along with a description/quote

We SCORE! The action won’t be confined to the ice when the NHL
All-Star Game Comes to Denver the first weekend of February. For their private
party the NHL is bringing in one of Canada’s most popular bands GREAT

Friday February 2, 8:00pm, at the Gothic Theatre 3263 S. Broadway.
The four singer/multi-instrumentalists who comprise the group – Doyle, Bob
Hallett, Sean McCann and Darrell Power – write and perform music
that’s based in the traditions of their seafaring ancestors, yet infused
with the youthful energy and free-spirited attitude of modern rock. Or, as
The New York Times observed. "The songs on Great Big Sea’s
recordings are as evocative of Newfoundland as were the Beach Boys of
California."
The band released three gold and multi-platinum albums, Up (1995),
Play (1997) and Turn (1999). Five time winners of the Entertainer
of the Year Award at the East Coast Music Awards, the band also has a slew of
Juno nominations and other awards to their credit.  Known for their
incendiary and powerful performances, Great Big Sea has released a live album in
Canada. The title Road Rage reflects their hard-working ethos and
documents a band in love with traveling, their music, and the excitement of
standing on stage in front of a crowd.
8:00pm show, 7:15pmdoors. All ages show. General Admission. Of course
there is a dance floor! Call Celtic Events at 303-777-0502.
Show note: When we were going to press with The Celtic Connection
we got a call from GBS in regards to a possible show. That is why our CC
readers did not see much in the January issue.  Thanks to a little
luck, the Gothic Theatre, and Yo Flaco!, we were able to quickly put the show
together.

Yes, I need to do something about boosting the number of connections.
I'm shooting on making about 10 concurrent connections. I'll annouce it
when I add the additional connections.

Kind of like all those eggs from the first Aliens movie. Sitting,
chilling out on that barren planet, until some hapless human accidently
gets too curious and gets infected by one of them. Involuntarily
surrendering himself as a host for the seductively efficient and
relentless xenomorphic predator? :-)

Please put up the E minor version. If I like it, I'll play it in a set
with some of Stan Chapman's very nice E jigs. BTW Stan, in addition to
being an incredible music teacher (He taught Natalie MacMaster, Ashley
MacIsaac, Jackie Dunn, and too many excellent players to name) has
composed some nice tunes. All this in addition to being incredibly
modest and soft-spoken. What a cool guy! :-)

I would think that it's alot easier to play in D minor, at least on the
fiddle. Can it even be played on wind insturments in Em?

Yes, actually I could do that. That's actually a really good idea.
Last night I moved the server to a location with alot more bandwidth
which fixed alot of the frequent rebuffering. Then I experimented with
increaing the streaming rate, but I found that it made it rebuffer even
more for people connecting with modems. So I left it at 32 bits, which
is the same as FM radio, which made the rebuffering rate more
acceptable. The fidelty of FM radio sounds good enough for my purposes.
I was able to sucessfully boost the maximum number of connections up to
7.

Because I can't be there all day to DJ :-) Actually Win Amp prints the
name of the tune and the performer in the little box at the top.
Unfortunately the Real Audio player doesn't.

Yes, Lallans, Gaelic and English are official languages of the list.
John, the best Scottish music is from that era. All the new stuff wishes
