For instance, while cunt in English or con in French means stupid, figa in Italian means attractive - now used by women as often as men and even turned into figo to define a good-looking male. As far as I can tell nobody in Italy, so far, has discovered that such a car actually exists. And apparently nobody in India knows that there is a place where its name has a peculiar meaning. Maybe a few Figos could be sold here as a collector's item. There are, of course, several other examples of words and names having different meanings in different places. Such as escort being used in Italy (sometimes also elsewhere) as an euphemism for hooker. Ignoring the fact that it has other meanings in English - including a Ford car. I don't know if Ford meant it to mean anything, or just picked a 'cute Italian word'. What the car is can be explained rather more easily. A small light peppy hatchback, very affordable, yet pleasant to drive, not too powerful, sufficient for city traffic but also not entirely unsuitable for medium length journeys (300 kms? 500 kms?) on Indian highways of startlingly different quality.
