Re: [silk] The Bhansali Stork

Congratulations.

Nice way to manage the new arrival.

My Mum was playing poker and was on a winning streak and was reportedly
extremely reluctant to retire gracefully. As the District Surgeon, a family
friend, was present, he pulled rank and restored discipline.

Sadly, nobody, then or later, noticed my own good looks, or if they did, they
didn't mention it as they ought to have. Life isn't, umm, a bed of roses.

Sharing some interesting news based on the SilkMeet from the 13th.
For people who were there and wondering why Surabhi disappeared halfway
through the evening ... She had just gone into labour!

Though it lasted longer and our baby Vir was only born on Sunday, I can
safely say that he did start kicking to get out during the SilkMeet (to meet
 my wonderful SilkList friends)

So thanks SilkList for having this meet at our place and literally
 kickstarting our baby's birth!

 Congratulations Vinit and Surabhi!

I did joke with Surabhi later that night that if we have a daughter, the
pressure to name (or atleast nickname) her Silk will be pretty crazy. And
no way, given the assumption that many would make that we are naming her
after a movie!

But no, we had a boy and a girl name selected a while ago and stuck with
that.
His name is Vir ;)

Aniruddh. That's my son's name. I'd have thought it'd be tough to make a
pun out of that but then I managed to read I.Allan Sealy's Hero, A Fable

Something about a south indian hero turned politician called Hero, with a
secretary called Zero, a heroine U.D.Cologne, vamp Flora Fountain and a
villain called Nero

Nero was apparently born because his father forgot to use a condom, so he
was named Anirodh - Without a Nirodh [1]

[1] for non indian types - the only brand of condom available in India till
say the 80s, made by a public sector unit so of doubtful quality etc.

Face-palm.

And warning to future parents, try very very hard to get a name for your
baby that gives Deepa lesser fodder for her awesome puns!!! You will fail
miserably, I assure you.

One day before, to be precise. One has to admire the kid's sense of timing.
