Treasures has good prices on oil of oregano; the owner claims he gets the best
oils directly from Turkey. I recall the prices being quite attractive.

R.e. vitamin C: in Japan, every convenience store carries a lozenge product
that looks like a packet of candy, called VC 3000. It contains ten or so
lozenges (sugarfree), consisting mainly of Vitamin C and zinc.

When getting ill, I promptly buy several packs and take the lozenges at
regular intervals over the course of a day. It is one of the most powerful
medicines I have ever used, and cheap at ¥100 per pack.

Now Foods of Canada sells (through resellers...on the web) 100% pure
Oregano Oil, 1 fl. oz. (30 ml) for $10 or less. You will have to dilute it at 3
parts virgin olive oil and 1 part pure Oregano oil. This means that you end up
getting 4 fl. oz. (120 ml) for the bargain price of $10. I myself have
purchased it on the net for this price but forgot where. You will have to do a

My mother once had a similar problem involving her lower front teeth.
The dentist wanted to do expensive surgery for advanced pyrohhea. When Mom
said she simply didn't have the money, they told her of a simple procedure, but
added that no one ever would really do it. Anyway, it involved brushing in the
am and then holding grocery store hydrogen peroxide in the mouth for two
minutes (then spit it out) and she had to do this in the evening before bed
also. She was also given some antibiotics to take for a month or so.I
believe the antibiotics can be left out if you will swish four times per day
(for at least 30 secs and hopefully much longer) with colloidal silver with 3
or 4 drops of DMSO added to each mouthful. What that does for tooth and gum
problems is just about unbelievable. And she needs to take lots of Vit. C too.
Sorry I can't be more specific but this was about 40 years ago. n! bs! p; I
also can suggest oil of oregano (DILUTED WITH OLIVE OIL OR SOMETHING SIMILAR TO
A 50/50 CONCENTRATION) on the worst places. This will be uncomfortable but not
much can survive it. :) :) If you don't dilute it, you will have one of
those experiences of which time does not dull the memory. Best wishes. pj

CSCS Generator the Bio-available Ion vs. Particle Surface Debate

2004-03-02 Thread Jodi Waldman Menard

I'm new here, but let me
say that I'm very grateful to have found all of you in one place! This
is my first posting on my first list (hope I do it right). Many of you
are knowledgeable, generous, and helpful and I'm very grateful you take
the time out of your busy schedules to share what you know. Thank
you. I've been taking CS for a couple of years now, from several
different sources, and I'm convinced it helped to wipe out my Hep C. I
was very sick before, but not now. In fact, no one in my family has
been to a doctor since we started on it. Anyway, I've been researching
CS online hoping to learn enough to be able to get a good generator to
make it at home (I give it away to
everyone - family, animals and friends - so it doesn't make a lot of
sense to keep buying it at this rate), but I seem to need a little
input from those who aren't hoping to make a profit from me. While
reading up on it, 2 totally conflicting theories on CS came up. From
what I can gather, the first camp bases their theory on studies
performed outside of the body in laboratory dishes, and they insist
that only the surface of silver "particles" effectively kill germs.
They are convinced that silver particles must come into contact with
the offensive germ for the CS to be effective and that silver "ions"
will interact with salt in our saliva, stomachs and blood to form
silver chloride (? - please excuse me if I use an incorrect term) which
is useless. Whereas the second camp believes, especially when dealing
with viruses and germs inside of the body, that the bio-availability of
silver ions is the one and only thing that makes CS effective, and not
the silver particles, because the body is unable to break down the full
particles for use (?). They say that the body makes metallaproteins to
keep silver ions from interacting with saline in our bodies and that
metalloproteins safely transport silver ions throughout the body to
kill offensive germs. Now, I've been told that home CS generators make
only the ionic form of CS by Camp #1, but particles are still produced
as well according to the laboratory analysis reports I've seen! All of
the conflicting information has me frozen and can be very intimidating
when it's backed up by studies and professors, but I'm beginning to
wonder about that, because there is convincing evidence on both sides.
Everyone seems to be selling something and putting out the info that
goes with what they're selling (of course)! So - here I am. Can you
all tell me what, if anything, you've concluded about all of this? My
gut feeling is that probably any properly made CS is better than none
at all, and will do what we need it to, as long as it's made with
clean, distilled water (and no salt, baking soda or toxins). It
probably works even when it isn't properly made, it just might take
longer and require more. My gut also tells me that oftentimes, when
there are conflicting opinions with each side on very opposing poles,
as there seems to be with CS, the truth can lay somewhere in that
middle "grey" area where both sides contributed relevant truths, but
I'm hoping you all can shed some more light on this for me. Anyway,
can you all also tell me if there is a generator that is very safe,
very simple and economical, that produces CS that is clear? It would
be a big plus if there was a lab analysis of the CS the generator
produces online as well, but I'm interested in your recommendations
regardless. Thanks, Jodi

Bacteria Run Wild, Defying Antibiotics
By ABIGAIL ZUGER

A new chapter in the continuing story of antibiotic resistance is being
written in doctors' offices across the country, as a group of common
bacteria rapidly becomes resistant to the antibiotics that have been used
to treat them for decades.

The bacteria are called Staphylococcus aureus, or staph for short. Staph
are the most common cause of skin infections like boils and can also
cause lung infections, bloodstream infections and abscesses in the body's
internal organs.

In hospitalized patients, infections caused by antibiotic-resistant staph
have been common for years. Among healthy people, though, antibiotic
resistance in staph has not been a big problem. Since the 1970's, doctors
have routinely, and successfully, treated staph infections in healthy
patients with penicillin-like drugs.

Not anymore. Office doctors who follow this practice now may find their
patients getting sicker instead of better.

Over the last year, Dr. John Gullett, an infectious disease specialist in
Abilene, Tex., has grown accustomed to getting calls for help from local
doctors who have used the usual antibiotics to no effect.

One doctor treated a high school football player built like Charles
Atlas with a standard oral antibiotic for a little boil in the groin.
Even though the teenager was the picture of health, the antibiotic did
not work.

The boil, caused by resistant staph, grew into an large abscess tracking
into the leg, and the patient got sicker and sicker. Only when Dr.
Gullett treated him with an intravenous antibiotic generally reserved for
desperately ill hospitalized patients did he turn the corner.

Had the patient's first doctor been aware that the infection was caused
by resistant staph and chosen a different oral antibiotic, the entire
episode might have been milder.

Resistant staph, Dr. Gullet said, are more invasive and more pervasive
than the strains most primary care doctors are used to treating.

Dr. Gonzalo Ballon-Landa, an infectious disease specialist at Mercy
Hospital in San Diego, said he was very concerned about what we are
seeing.

Dr. Ballon-Landa has treated clusters of infections from resistant staph
in such disparate groups as prisoners, homeless people, student nurses
and football players.

Most doctors are just not aware of this, said Dr. Bonnie Bock, an
infectious disease specialist in Newport Beach, Calif., who has treated
resistant staph infections in groups of secretaries, surfers and gay men.

Dr. Bock estimated that about two-thirds of the large staph abscesses she
saw in her office now were caused by the resistant bacteria.

Over all, staph infections are extremely common and often quite minor.
Even staph abscesses, if they are drained properly, may heal without
requiring any antibiotics at all. The new resistant staph can be treated
with several common antibiotics — just not the ones doctors are
accustomed to using.

Still, the experts say that some infections caused by the new resistant
staph are unexpectedly aggressive, and delays in starting the right
antibiotics may be life-threatening.

Staph infections are such a common problem that the emergence of
infections resistant to common antibiotics has important public health
implications, said Dr. Daniel B. Jernigan, an epidemiologist at the
federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

But the infections are so common that they are not reportable to the
local or federal public health authorities. Because of this, detective
work to explain the appearance of the new resistant staph in this country
and track its progress is just beginning.

The resistant staph was first recognized in the United States among
children in Chicago in the mid-1990's. In 1999, the disease control
centers reported that four children in the Midwest had died of infections
with the new staph. Three of them had initially been treated with the
wrong antibiotics.

In the last several years, clusters of infections with the resistant
staph have been reported in jails and prisons in states around the
country, including California, Texas, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Clusters
of skin infections have also been reported among athletic team members
and military recruits.

Pediatricians in Miami and Los Angeles have found that 20 percent to 30
percent of the serious staph infections they see in nonhospitalized
children are caused by resistant strains. In Houston, rates in children
have approached 50 percent.

In the spring of 2002, the health department in Los Angeles learned of a
cluster of resistant staph infections in a group of healthy newborn
babies, followed in rapid succession by an outbreak at the county jail
that eventually involved more than 1,000 inmates, a cluster of infections

CSWalgreen Ultrasonic Humidifier

2004-03-02 Thread Dan Nave

Heather, or anyone else that has this humidifier,

I finally found and bought one of the Walgreen Personal Ultrasonic
Humidifiers. It has a water reservoir of about 1 cup volume. Sitting
in this water and suspended from the lid, which contains the ultrasonic
apparatus, is a filter cartridge of about 1 or 2 fluid ounce size. (It
is referred to as an antibacterial purifying water filter.) This has
a few holes in it covered by screen material. When it is shaken it
sounds like there are particles of charcoal in the filter. There is
also a little spring loaded holder in the center of the filter and
protruding out of the top of the filter, which holds the wick. I don't
think the wick is a problem for CS, but I think the filter cartridge is
filled with activated charcoal which should be a problem for the CS.
(On the other hand, it may take the stink out of the DMSO should one
decide to use that with the CS ;-))

What did you-all finally do about the filter? Did anyone test for the
CS coming through?

I was thinking that it may be possible to just make a hole in the bottom
of the filter and just let out the charcoal or whatever it is in the filter.

All you Personal Humidifier owners, please respond...

Dan

Hi Richard (and list),

I purchased the $20 Personal Ultrasonic Humidifier from Walgreen the
other day, but I noticed
in trying to set up the process that it has a charcoal filter as part of
the uptake. Did you
encounter this and if so, did you just leave it in place? I wonder about
it filtering out all
the CS/DMSO/MSM. On the other hand it is easily removable, but then
there is no way so siphon
up the mixture, since the filter portion reaches down into the
reservoir. Without the filter,
there is no reach. If you know what I'm referring to, can you recommend
a way to bypass the
little filter? Perhaps plastic tubing? I have the receipt could take
it back, but I really
like the size ( price) so if I can find a way to rearrange it that
would be the best thing.

If you changed it to suit you, I'd like to know how you did it. :o)

Thanks for any suggestions,
Heather King

I have only been using CS for a while as a mouthwash, but have white teeth
so far. My 86 yo mom has very gray teeth, and so does my 92 yo mil. They
don't use CS. I think there are probably lots of explanations as to why
teeth discolor- coffee, tea, blueberries, tetracyclin, etc, but using a
whitening toothpaste can probably make up for most. Then there are those
amazing dazzling white Da Vinci veneers they put on teeth on Extreme
Makeover. I'm wondering if they don't remove some tooth enamel to fit them
on. Anyway, I'm going to keep using CS as a mouthwash since I want to find
out how much it prevents tooth and gum problems.

2004-03-02 Thread Delmont P Neroni
I think you will find the majority of people on this and other silver lists
advocate the use of primarily ionic silver such as you can produce at home with
either the Silver Puppy or the Silvergen SG6 or SG7. Ionic silver solutions
are clearly the safest and are very effective.

The argument between the particulate and ionic camps is ongoing. I am no
expert, but I will quote someone who is, and from that you can make your own
decision:

Del
---

1. There is no silver in measureable existance smaller than a silver ion,
except the possibility of monoatomic silver.

2. Different particle sizes do not effect different conditions.
Ogliodynamic properties are soley responsible for silver effectiveness.
Whether or not different sized particles reach different areas of the body
is a different question all together. There is no direct biological
advantage to larger particles of silver, under any circumstances. A
silver ion will always be more effective directly than a silver particle.
Every single study in modern history supports this fact. There are some
properties to charged particles than may have a different and beneficial
biological effect; this has nothing to do with sizing, but rather, zeta
potential. Zeta potential is related to particle sizing, and smaller
particles will effect a larger surface area with a greater potential. This
is beneficial, as far as particles are concerned. However, no facts have
been documented concerning what these effects are. As far as anybody knows,
the silver particles may be converted to silver ions at-site, and it is
the silver ions that are actually being effective, but the initial
particulate form which allowed biological delivery. There is a precidence
for this: Silverlon wound care dressing. The minute energetic properties
of the different states of silver cannot be ignored. Unfortunately, they as
of yet cannot be directly correlated with a biological response. Direct
Current can and has. There is no reason to assume that colloids and ionic
solutions are any different. But it is important to keep the theories in
proper perspective: Theories.

There are alot of opinions on the benefit of particulate silver, and very
little documented data to support claims. I do believe some of the
ascertations are correct. I believe having a mix of both ions and the
smallest possible particles is certainly advantageous. I believe we reach a
point very quickly where the debate is simply splitting hairs, as far as
biological effectiveness is concerned.

HVAC sounds like a great idea, but it has been my experience that few
companies truly create a superior product via the high voltage method. I've
never liked how the particles tend to clump together with HVAC. I prefer a
product with proper particle dispersion, examples being TEM's from Natural
Immunogenics, and Trem's Silvergens.

We have no basis to compare products based on sales-focused terminology; we
require a TEM, AAS, and ideally an antibacterial time-kill study. These
three measurements, when compared with other products, give a fantastic
basis for evaluating CS. We expect a high particulate silver to perform
poorly against pathogens ( as compared with ionic silver ), as every test
we've seen has detailed. This does not negate the potential benefit of
silver particles. Particles are more chemically stable in the body. We've
never had, as an example, a report of Mesosilver being innefective in
comparison to ionic silver. It's hard to speculate on the differences
between particles and ions, as they perform in the human body.

For home brewers with good CS generators, keeping the PPM relatively
reasonable ( in the 5-10PPM range ) will, we believe, produce a product that
is very effective. I would never buy into a sales pitch pushing HVAC
without hard data being displayed. As an example, 'ole Bob has excellent
data on his methods of CS production. If a company is not displaying any of
this information, they either don't know what they have, or don't want you
to know what they have: They want to you have their sales pitch, which is
NEVER in your best interest, and ALWAYS in theirs. Their theorizing may or
may not be accurate, and theorizing should be presented in a manner
consistant with theory and not fact.

The public, it is my opinion, should not settle for less than accurate
information that is presented in an authentic manner.

If they state that fulvic acid and silver is better, then they should simply
demonstrate it, which is not difficult to do; not only would their
constituents be happy ( so to speak ), but it would be good to avoid
potential problems with the FTC.

Best Regards,

Jason

She could try the brushing with bar soap. Brooks Bradley sent a link to
this to the list. This may not be the original link but has the info.

I don't know if this does anything for loose teeth, but along with
swishing and holding diluted peroxide, and then rinsing and holding CS
for a few minutes, it has helped me.

and keep the CS in her mouth for 6 minutes.

I have followed the advice on the link and am very, very impressed. I
see slow and steady gum regeneration, a big surprise. I think a bar
of Ivory soap is more effective than even the best dentifrice I ever
used, AlphaOmega dentifrice, which is between 10 and 12 dollars for a
small bottle.
The cost savings over this and even conventional toothpaste are
dramatic, as are the results. Who would have believed such a thing?
Live and learn.

I'm getting good results too. And it isn't nearly as nasty as I feared.
And well worth trying, my teeth have never felt so clean,
and I wear a dental appliance nightly for TMJ, and tartar would build up
on that, too. Requiring periodic soaking in vinegar to remove it. Since
brushing with bar soap, and also brushing the appliance with bar soap,
there is zero tartar on it.
I am amazed. Who woulda thunk it? And it solved my problem of trying to
find toothpaste without carrageenan and/or algins.
