For tinnitis...take chromium picolinate or a good colloidal mineral
supplement. Also black strap molasses will help it (it has the chromium.)
Tinnitis from a deficiency standpoint, is due to too much white sugar. God
made sugar brown for a reason. The brown part has..guess what? chromium.
without the chromium, the body has trouble utilizing the sugar. Causing lots
of troubles in the body. Hope that helps.

RE: CS>Tinnitus (OT)

2009-07-31 Thread Rob Douglas
I used to have it bad, couldn't stand silence, it was like a jet plane going
through my head.

A few years ago I dechemicalized my diet, to try and rid myself of
migraines. It worked. And one of the positive side effects was that the
ringing completely stopped, and has never returned.

I am extremely diligent in eating, and will not eat any kind of chemical or
food that is remotely manufactured or processed. I also stay away from soy
or anything made out of soy (that's a huge task).

I never rely on what the food packages tell me, I stick to what information
I can find on the internet or in alt health books. I err on the side of
caution and avoid those things that are still up for debate, if there is
legitimate information that something could be bad, I avoid it. Also, I
don't take any vitamins or herbs, just diligently stay away from fake food.
Any kind of food can be home made from scratch.

The negative things that have disappeared from my life by doing this makes
it all worth while. No headaches, no ringing, feel better than I did at 17,
far less tooth problems, rarely tired (unless I earned it with hard work,
and it's a good tired then), sleep like the dead, no more muscle pain, no
more cramping feet (that was horrible), far clearer head, can think far
clearer, problems are all solveable, even mood, smarter, etc.

If you want more details, just ask.

Hi John...

I can tell you I have had this problem myself to the point of being nearly
deaf. I bought some CS and started putting some drops in my ears and by the
next day the ringing was nearly gone. I feel I must have had a bad ear
infection and was the cause of the tinnitus...actually I believe I have serious
inflammation throughout my whole body due to extremely bad teeth and was my
main reason for buying and using CS.

Best regards...

Hi John,

Well, that may or may not be true, depending upon your ability to learn
about what it is and isn't.

You have some studying to do...because there is a sufficiency of hype
and bs as well as folks who seem to know what they are talking about.

First, it is necessary to determine the type of tinnitus you
have...objective or subjective. Subjective tinnitus occurs in the
brain, not the ear. Objective can be in the ear and can be an
indication of something more serious.

A good otologist can do an exam, hearing test and a test for hyperacusis.

There is also Tinnitus Retraining Therapy...takes about 18-24mths...aka TRT.

Then there is a study being done at OHSU here in Portland using
acamprosate, which is a drug used to help alcholics stay sober...I have
heard that the test is loaded, no pun intended:)

Drugs can cause it, for example Welbutrin, Xanax and anti-biotics.
Xanax is also a drug which helps some folks with it as well.

You may develop hyperacusis...become very sensitive to sounds that
previously didn't bother you and by sensitive, I mean experience real
pain from them.

There is a device called Neuromonics:

http://www.neuromonics.com

Costs about $US5,000...and by the time you calculate the probability
that it will help you, its a toss up. However, the military has given
them a million dollar grant to test its effectiveness on
troops...tinnitus is becoming the most significant after-effect of the
Iraq war, following PTSD (and along with it).

I have tried it, made no progress in 30 days, so I returned it (there is
a 30 day trial period with a money back guarantee (less a fee for the
testing) and be sure to get that in writing.

This is a summary of other things that I have tried from a post on the
tinnitus list I belong to:

The DTM-6B system, annoyed the devil out of me.

http://www.contactassist.com/timacd.html

I also bought the Luxe Vivant set of Five CD's and I was surprised at
how differently I reacted to each of them and between digital and analog
as well. Wish they would do a White Fountain with analog white noise
because I like the analog better...ultimately ended up liking the White
Fountain best and have used it for nearly more than year all day, every
day and every night to sleep...all night long. I have never tired of
it. It isn't all that expensive for the five cd's:

http://www.luxevivant.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=82

Oddly enough, I have the two cd's from Immrama Institute and Luxe Vivant
seems to be using their Clarity sounds...They are very similar, but the
Luxe Vivant runs for an hour before starting again...I have found it to
be better.

I had intended to order the Fan cd, but never felt the need. On the
above page there are samples, but they are not long enough to evaluate
your "irritation" point:) I had to listen to a couple for a good while
to determine if they irritated me, a couple of others were just a few
minutes.

I use these (Amazon has them for two prices $160 and 49.95 the model is
A8) There are comments about the cheaper ones being knock offs, so I
bought the full priced ones:

http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=629

If I listen to music, I wear these with the white noise at a low level
and can hear the music very well...for ME...the white noise just doesn't
exist, but I believe part of the reason for that is that I tried a
number of them and found one that didn't annoy me.

These also allow you to hear conversations and are very comforable and
they are not EAR BUDS, they sit at the entrance to the ear not in the
ear. These will work when flying as well, not noise canceling, but I
turn the volume up a bit and do fine.

Also, at night I have a small cd player and use speakers and I play the
white noise all night...my two cats love it as well.

When I travel, I have a portable set of speakers that I plug my Sansa
mp3 player into so I can listen to the white noise at night, works fine.

In addition I have purchased a program called Neuro Programmer 2 from
the Luxe Vivant site...if you get your ears tested and get a graph of
everything then one might be able to use this program to set up some
custom sounds. I haven't had the time to do it yet.

I also use Etymotic ear plugs...they have a 20db reduction and when I am
going to have to deal with noise (like the movies, concerts) I wear
them...however...you get to hear your tinnitus very clearly, but you can
hear the music/movie too.

Beyond this, I am still looking, although I get along just fine for the
most part.

Apologize that this is so jumbled, but there is enough stuff here to get
you started.

Good luck,

Craig

Yah -- I have tinnitus -- and I've had to live with it. Have been for
about ten years. To answer the question regarding silver fillings -- yes I
do have them. I'm in the process of having them removed, so I'm hoping (and
praying) that that'll reduce or eliminate the tinnitus. For what it's worth
John -- you do sort of get used to it -- over time. I don't notice it
unless I'm thinking about it. And sometimes when I'm trying to go to sleep,
and of course the house is quiet, I'll notice it. But when it first

Hello,

Does anybody have suggestions on how to stop Tinnitus? (ringing in
the ear.)

I talked to my doctor. He pretty much said I have to live with it.

Thank you, John.

I fear you will have to just grin and bear it . I've had it for several
years and although there are many and varied remedies offered by all and sundry
to my knowledge there's no successful remedy. Turn the radio up . I think
the most popular method of putting up with it is to have 'white noise' in the
background, but to me that just replaces one 'noise' with another, or is an
additional 'noise' to the one I already have.

I wish you luck in finding a cure though.

Yah -- I have tinnitus -- and I've had to live with it.  Have been for about
ten years.  To answer the question regarding silver fillings -- yes I do have
them.  I'm in the process of having them removed, so I'm hoping (and praying)
that that'll reduce or eliminate the tinnitus.  For what it's worth John -- you
do sort of get used to it -- over time.  I don't notice it unless I'm thinking
about it.  And sometimes when I'm trying to go to sleep, and of course the
house is quiet, I'll notice it.  But when it first started, I was aware of it
all the time and it was very annoying.  So if you do have to live with it -- it
gets easier.  MA
