I build my own kernels from 2008. I don’t remember something new. Only that 
compile times are more slow :)

I have a private kernel simple build script. You need ‘make bzImage’ and ‘make 
modules’ as always.

The real pain is the kernel configuration. For example I managed to not have a 
working memory card reader although I supposedly complied the appropriate 
driver.

All others systems work thankfully.

Try strace zoom/ZoomLauncher 1>zoom.log and check the log file for clues.

Pseudo code - untested:
Add this before cd $PRGNAM-$VERSION

$VERSION = $(echo $VERSION | sed ‘s/-1//’)

or better change the version to 3.2.7

There is a better solution with more lines, this is just to build the script.

Latest version of Ekiga is from 2012.

Try Linphone. In 2008 I was using a freeware closed source, also available on 
Linux but I forgot the name.

I try now to fix yate

1. maybe with it works with linking
2. maybe it’s better to have a fluidsynth1 version.

In the meantime, you can downgrade to fluidsynth1

Thank you about your care and your solution. (I also prefer jack name over 
jack-audio-connection-kit)

I had a no-go problem (years ago) with jack2 but I don’t remember anything 
about the problem.

I don’t have too much time, but I will try to migrate to jack2 and test my 
builds.

I don’t use jack2 but jack1 (in fact many times I prefer alsa)

I use it sporadically. I manually Download the iso and unebootin does the rest. 
Let it  sink if you don’t have time, no reason to abandon. If someone want 
newer version can use as your work as starting point.

There is no ending to security measures. You stop to take measures when they’re 
is no threat, not possibility of threat.

1. Crackers are not stupid to waste time to tamper source code to match the 
same  md5sum, it’s way too much complicated. And it’s very easy to notice. It’s 
easier for them to write a virus for autorun usb flash’s for other kind of 
users, not for slackers.

2. If the original coder can’t understand the difference in code after the 
tampering (I suppose  will be huge) whatever measure is useless.
