[SLUG] dependible apt sources for debian ppc

Evening,

Following a recent discussion on laptops, I got myself an Apple
powerbook. Neat

I'm a little confused by the /etc/apt/sources.list . It seems that the 
mirrors don't stay stable for very long ...

The best I've had so far is 

deb http://mirror.pacific.net.au/debian unstable main contrib non-free

Is there a mirror I can use that's more reliable?

http://ftp.au.debian.org/ is the .au official one, but PlanetMirror (the guys
running it, thanks for that) have had some troubles with hardware and stuff,
so I sometimes use http://ftp.wa.au.debian.org/ instead.  

If you're an Internode customer, you can use
ftp://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/debian.  A few other providers also have
their own mirrors for their customers, but you'll have to find out from your
provider about that, and hassle them if it isn't up to snuff.

Over the last few weeks pacific net has been unreliable. It wasnt up 
last night either. I'd like a nice alternative to it.

Hmm, there are four cases for a match:
1,2,3
1,2,4
1,3,4
2,3,4
For each case there are six different orders the matches can be made in.
eg for 1,2,3
1,2,3
1,3,2
2,1,3
2,3,1
3,1,2
3,2,1
This gives you a regex with 24 different matches OR'ed together ... o_O
Only Dr Frankenstein would create such a monster.

Don't worry about the docs.
As Dave suggested, you probably need to post the results of
iptables -t nat -n -L
In any case, I would try the following:
- on 192.168.0.1 run the following to clear all firewall rules:
# Make sure the chains are empty
iptables -F
iptables -X
iptables -Z
# Set the default policy...
iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT
iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT
iptables -P OUTPUT ACCEPT
- now do the routing and so on as before. You should see ping's work
from 10.0.0.x to 192.168.0.x and vice-versa.
Note that this completely opens the machine. This is why I said in the
last email, it all depends on what level of security you want between
the 192.168.0.x and the 10.0.0.x networks. Remember both networks are
protected by the 10.0.0.x firewall. If you are running a DMZ
(de-militarised zone) type situation, where the 10.0.0.x machines run
services that are intented for world (internet) access), then you
probably want just as strong a firewall on the 192.168.0.1 machine
blocking access from 10.0.0.x to 192.168.0.x. It boils down to your
needs. If you want more info do a google for dmz.

[SLUG] Simple Search Engine

I'm running a LAP web server (Linux, Apache, PHP) and I'm looking for 
recommendations from sluggers for simple but effective software/tools 
for searching of the site content. The web page would just have a text 
field where users can type in key words and the search function would 
return links to the documents (html/php) found on the site that 
contained those words, order by some sort of relevance I guess would be 
neat to.
