Edit the configuration file, search for $daemon_user, then change it to

Dazza,

thanks, after both chown and chmod as you suggested, it's starting OK:

==
# service amavisd start
Starting Mail Virus Scanner (amavisd): [ OK ]
# service amavisd status
amavisd (pid 11101 11100 11088) is running...
amavis-milter is stopped

slug.org.au/events/event.ics uses a custom written perl script
written by me (and with a few bugfixes by others ;)
Its written using HTML::Embperl, but it should be obvious how to
convert it to a simple CGI script.

It generates the iCal entry from a row in a PostgreSQL
database. Source is available from

[SLUG] Pine filtering extended ASCII?

2004-12-26 Thread r . polanskis
Since my ISP doesn't do procmail filtering,
how can I, using PINE filter all that extended ASCII spam I am starting to
get - the stuff that is made up of non-alphanumeric characters like
Sigma, Omicron, omega, square root symbols and other crazy junk
that is obviously from north korea or where ever?

I have tried filtering on Content-Type utf-8 and so on, but these
are not coming in any particular char set. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Is this something Mutt can do or am I going to have to resort to some other
method? My ISP won't give me filtering unless I change my email
acct to something else and I do not want to change my address as I
have had it for 10 years or so

[SLUG] Postfix/amavisd-new/clamav setup

2004-12-26 Thread Voytek
I'm looking at installing amavisd-new/clamav with Postfix 2 on RH73;

I've used amavisd-new-2.2.0-1.0.rh7.test.i386.rpm and
clamav-0.80-1.0.rh7.dag.i386.rpm from dag.wieers.com/packages/

so far, I have amavisd-new running

looking at various docs and howtos, they talk about a 'clamd', but, the
clamav I've installed doesn't seem to have such...? rpm only has:

rpm/usr/bin
clamscan
freshclam
sigtool

any advice appreciated
