Re: XSI camera animation to After effects or XSII camera animation to Cinema 4D

2013-10-03 Thread John Richard Sanchez
Thanks adam. it worked great. Still wish the workflow was better fine tuned
such as c4d or even fine tuned getting a simple xsi animated camera into
c4d.

it does the job. You can export null positions as well although I think
you need to scale them down.

Give it a try see if it suits your needs.

 thanks

Will try that adam. I am still not sure why animated cameras dont come
into c4D. The c4d to AFX workflow is so great. I wish xsi had something
 similar.

 Hi,

This worked last time I tried it for AE.

 Bottom of the page.

I've included a rar file which has the AE import script tweaked for CS6.

You can export polys as well but it creates a layer per polygon. Fine for
 ground planes, walls etc.

 Good luck,

 Adam.

I will try that Olivier. Thanks. Paul I tried exporting from the oldest
fbx format that 2013 would allow me to. Not working.

Try an older FBX version when you export. I think I've had similar

Re: Laser scan to point cloud to mesh

2013-10-03 Thread Steven Caron
various options, agisoft comes to mind but i don't know if you can import
point clouds for meshing?
maybe eric mootz has some sort of workflow with his plugins?
maybe openvdb. they have meshing algorithms for point clouds... i have a
really basic softimage plugin that could be extended, but i don't have the
time (i mean no one is paying me to do it) to add that functionality.

  Hi All

For one of my next projects I am wanting to get a rather large point
 cloud +_ 10 million points.

each point has their xyz value , a rgb value and hopefully a normal
 value.(although not always the case)

I need to be able to bring this into Soft and generate an accurate mesh.

From that I need to be able to extract a useful mesh, do some cleanup
 and then light and render.

Note this is not for a simulation its rather for a visualization
 project. (so only 1 frame)

Has anyone has success in doing something like this. ICE is not my area
and the results I an getting from typical mesh cloud type apps are not
 great.

  Kind regards

  Angus

The opensource software MeshLab http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/ can do a
good job too from what I've heard.

Some tuts I found via google:
