Modeling >
*Match Geometry* : Pretty sure you select a geo, click the button and pick
the one geo to match. They need to have the same point count. It's matching
the shape
*Symmetrize points* : You need a symmetry map fro this one. It's
resymmetrizing a geo if for some reason you have edit one side and forgot
to edit the other side. The sym map must be created when the geo is still
symmetrical
*Merge with clusers* : Select a bunch of geo and merge them while
preserving the clusters. That was a long time ago, maybe they fixed it a
few version later.
*Split polygon Islands* : Select a geo with multiple island, and it will
kick out a geo per island

Rigging >
*Renamer* : Select a bunch of object to rename

Deform >Shape Key>
I think you have to select points and a shape key, or just a shape key

transition to Maya. Crying everyday about all the things we're missing and
coding hard to implement them in Maya.

Thank you Jeremie. Well, I mostly don´t know how to fully (and which cases)
are to be used on the
following sections of the original Gear:

Modeling > Match Geometry
  Symmetrize points
 Merge with clusers
 Split polygon Islands

Rigging > Renamer

Deform >Shape Key>Symmetrize Shape points
   Mirror Shape Key / Match shape key
   > Envelope> Normalize weights
Copy weightpoints 2 point
Average central axis point weights
Import/Export > Import (export) skin.

>From all of those I get an error sometimes. I don´t know what to pick when
the pick session
activates for some of the tools I rememeber you had them all explained in
detailed and how to use those
for specific cases on a character, on your website.

So, basically that was what I was looking for: Detailed explanation on how
to use those options with
different rigging cases.

I´l check out Gear_MC (Though, there´s not much help on how to use this
kind of buttons):
(see attachment). I´d like to call ppgs with those buttons (a, b,c) or if
they are only used to select geometry,
what kind of geometry (could I select curves, points, clusters?)

So I guess ultimately, I´ll be moving to Gear MC.

If I remember correctly the topology nodes do wipe out the UV's and you
have to set the UVs via an ICE attribute to ensure they are kept. They then
live in ICE Attribute land and not actual UV property land.

ICE Delete Polygon removes UVs?

I must be missing something obvious, but when I use the ICE topology 
node Delete Polygon, all my UVs disappears. I want to keep the same UVs, 
just remove a few polygons. Can anyone point me towards what I'm doing 
wrong?

I would try uninstall and re-install.

BTW the shelf buttons actually just run code that setup the network for the
necessary 'tool' - so you could build the network yourself - it is just
easier to do it from the buttons. 

As modeling is pretty fundamental, and I think Apprentice is supposed to
provide a complete overview, it's a bit weird it's not there. I suspect

I have had shelf items not being there before, I realized after some time I
wasn't launching "Houdini FX", I was launching "Houdini"
Not sure if that helps..

Hi Chris,

Maybe it's turned off somehow?
Click the + on the right side of the tabs, and see in the 'Shelves" 
dropdown if the 'Model' option is checked.

Anybody know a good lipsync / facial animation artist?

Hi Folks,

Just wondered of anyone knows some good (facial) character animators?
(Surprisingly tricky to find without knowing someone already).

Just a face test, needs to be fairly expressive facial anim & lip-sync.
It's for a 15 sec test in this kind of style (different show though)

I have dialogue/script/model (unrigged)

2 weeks starting asap.
Remote so own kit needed.
Can be done in any package as I can just import alembic/geo sequence if
needed.
