how hard it is to remove MainWin from Linux? If you guys can make
Softimage 100% Linux native then you guys can have multiple
installation targets, like Houdini.

centralized up to date tutorial. Make it a big one stop centre for a
beginner. That's the only way to help those who are about to learn
Softimage. There are many websites and youtube channels that do this too,
but it's on a whole new level if this is done and administered by Autodesk.
Also many top notch tutorials (like the ones on vimeo, for example) can be
"nominated" by the users and be included in the list and linked to by the
site.

Of course the success stories with good visual coverage would be extremely
helpful too.

fullbody IK system

Hi all,

  can anyone provide a pesudo code or general approach on how to implement
a fullbody IK system (much like human IK system in Maya)? Or any links or
references? I got a few links from googling around but much of the links
are down.

 Thanks.

 cheers,

Is it locked from the public?

 Thanks.

Re: Any interest in a Kinect for Windows and/or XBox controller capture driver?

2012-07-21 Thread Muhamad Faizol Abd. Halim
I'm interested in what you're offering at that price point, but it would
much more helpful if we can have more information about it (like a blog or
something detailing the tools you're promoting, some how tos etc).

Having said that, there's an article on phoronix.com about using kinect
devices with Qt toolkit on Linux (Maemo);
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTEyODY

The Qt Air Cursor is LGPL licensed and built atop the OpenNI library and
OpenCV. Code for Qt Air Cursor can be found here;
https://github.com/nemein/Qt_AirCursor

I imagine that if you can develop that using Qt toolkit, it would be cross
platform and can be maintained using just a single source, if done properly.

Cheers,
Faizol
