I had this problem when I used the .sys file included with the Windows driver package instead of mgmt.o from the linux driver package. Which are you using? I tried both mgmt.o and alcaudsl.sys. I doubt its the driver itself per-se. Do you have any processor load figures? Does the driver take a lot of time? I suspect a potential buggy USB chipset that windows copes with better. What chipset have you got? It's a D850MV board from Intel (850 chipset, 82801BA I/O controller ICH2). The load remains low (0.03). After 7 minutes downloading only pppoa shows a CPU time of 0:03 (also low); the rest (modem_run, pppd) show 0:00. I read on the Intel site something about a new BIOS which supports legacy USB devices. I'm not sure what they mean with legacy, but I think I'll try upgrading the BIOS. Many messages stating that a CRC error is present in AAL5. Sometimes I even have to stop because internet work is completely frustrated. But I use Linux (Mandrake 9.0) AND recent drivers. I start to ask myself if there is something terribly wrong with what the sourceforge produced for speedtouch. Bonjour je viens d'essayer de configurer mon modem adsl speedtouch 330 en suivant d'abord la procedure propose par Mandrake (Mandrake-9). Vu que cela ne marchait pas jai ensuite essayer la methode decrite dans le SpeedTouchUSB-HOWTO. Cela ne marche pas non plus. Pour ces deux methodes j'ai essaye avec le microcode trouve sur leur site (mais qui est pour le modem SpeedTouch USB) et avec le fichier fournit pour windows par wanadoo (alcaudsl.sys). [speedtouch] FreeBSD: instabilité avec un speedtouch USB
Bonjour, J'ai un problème sous FreeBSD avec mon modem speedtouch: 1/ J'avais un FreeBSD 4.5 qui a tourné pendant plusieurs mois avec le modem speedtouch sans problème. 2/ J'ai commencé à avoir des problèmes un jour ou j'ai rajouté une ligne dans mon fichier /etc/fstab. Je voulais mounter une partition DOS au démarrage. Le modem a arrété de fonctionner. Symptômes: - Les 2 LEDs du modem s'allume lorsque le PC s'allume - Lorsque au démarrage je lance le modem_run (par rc.d), la 2eme LEDs clignote mais ne cesse jamais de clignoter. - modem_run reste bloqué et je dois le débloquer avec un Ctrl-C - Rien dans les logs /var/log/ppp 3/ En enlevant la ligne dans /etc/fstab tout redevient normal!! 4/ J'ai changé mon système et j'utilise maintenant un FreeBSD 4.7. Le modem fonctionne normalement sans mn 2eme disque dur. 5/ J'ai rajouté mon deuxième disque dur (IDE également). Les problèmes réapparaissent (voir 2/) 6/ En enlevant le disque dur tuot remarche. 7/ J'ai fait un CVSup et reinstallé les drivers. Tout marche maintenant avec le nouveau disque dur. C'est étrange car le nouveau CVS ne semble pas avoir fait quelque chose au port net/ppo3 Pour finir, ces problèmes ont également eu lieu après d'autres modifications diverses dans mon système. Maintenant je n'ose plus rien changé dans mon FreeBSD! Tout cela est vraiment étrange. Je suis a peu prêt sur que le problèmes vont réapparaitre.
