I think this is the via chipset too... Is there web page where we can
get the list of buggy chipsets ?
I have the modem during w-e only, so I'll try on an other computer. Of
course, the definitive solution is to buy
an ethernet modem, but this is for a school, and they have no money.

No big upload too long time, no disconnections (what a shame for a
1024/**256** line...)
After many many tests, the last thing I have to try is to change my motherboard
because of this crappy VIA chipset... or get an Ethernet modem/router ... :p
I have two workstations, 1 FreeBSD, 1 Windows, same problem on both... same
motherboards... same VIA chipset. Tried all firmwares available. I now use
the most
recent one.

This is for one hour that I read post about this problem and there are
no clear answers.
- Is it a problem with the driver ? (I tryed 2 different drivers
open-source)
- Is it a problem with the usb driver ? (I tryed with uhci and usb-uchi)
- Is it a problem with some buggy via chipsets ?
- Is this the firmware ? (I'm using the firmware from the windows driver
because it's an isdn model)
- Should we try the close source driver ?
- Is this a solution to make QOS ? Did somebody tried ?
