So Audacity was experiencing a similar to what LMS appears to be showing here. Although was it only certain 24bit ALAC files or all? I haven't yet had a chance to do further testing, but my ffmpeg version is "2.8.14-0ubuntu0.16.04.1" which may not be the very latest but is the most up to date for my OS. From what I can work out it has bug fixes up to April this year. I will try to download and compile the very latest version, but that will have to wait until I have a bit of time. Until I get around to doing further testing, does anyone know exactly where these file properties are read from? The reason I ask, is that although these files are encoded with ffmpeg, they have been tagged with atomicparsley. . Tidal tech support is telling me to disable ickStream and then reenable it. Before the last time I updated LMS to the current version, I had an ickStream plugin on the Settings page. It appears to be gone now and there is only the Tidal plugin? Note: I have started my own Tidal account for a month to make it easier to troubleshoot this problem. This seems clearly to be an issue with LMS 2) The second part is what effect does this have on playback? I've tried playing them through squeezlite and they "seem" to play OK. Whether or not they are playing correctly and efficiently I can't say. Also, whether or not the bridge is at fault, I'm sure it would be helpful if it was receiving the correct information about the file from LMS. I'd be happy to do further testing to try and isolate the issue. Well. I am using LMS and Squeezebox since more than 10 years. Just recently, I dicovered something strange. When, I am streaming MP3 files there are clicks between the tracks. With my Flac files, I do not have any problems. My config: - LMS on Win10 (newly installed, only a couple of weeks ago. I am using 9.7.2 - MP3 and FLAC files are stereamed nativ to SB3 over WLAN. - all related plugins and settings such as replay gain, fading, ect are off. - SB3 is connected w/ analog audio cable to amplifier AND via COAX and optical calble to an external DAC (all three only for test purposes with same result) - I need to say as well, that I have bought new loudspeakers (major improvement). I do see the following reasons for the clicks: - Mp3 files are not ok (I have them since ages) and I could hear the clicks because my old loudspeakers where not "good" enough. - LMS installation or 7.9.2 version has a problem/bug. - SB3 is broken (this would be most sad) I would appreciate any comments and thoughts (specifically whether others have similar expericence and test strategies): I was also wondering whether I can "see" these "clicks" with Audacity on the mp3 files. Any ideas? Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm having nearly exactly the same issue. The only difference for me is that the problem encoder is ffmpeg. I am wondering if max uses ffmpeg under the hood to do the encoding? I have a group of 24bit files that were converted from flac to alac using ffmpeg. Other players such as iTunes, JRiver Media Centre and Kodi report them as being 24bit. 24bit files encoded using other software are reported correctly as being 24bit in LMS. I've just re-encoded one of those albums using JRiver (alac-alac) and rescanned the library. That album is now showing as 24bit. I'm not sure that this necessarily causes any playback issues except when using the UPnP/DLNA bridge. Playing these files through the bridge produces static only. This is feeling like a bug in the scanner. Anybody got any thoughts? Is it time to report it?
