Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Forbidden: settings/index.html
Yes. Due to long history of people leaving unprotected Lms instances connected to the internet new code now detects if requests come from the address of the default route and rejects them if so. There is a preference setting to disable this check. -Transcoded from Matt's brain by Tapatalk- -- Hardware: 3x Touch, 1x Radio, 2x Receivers, 1 HP Microserver NAS with Debian+LMS 7.9.0 Music: ~1300 CDs, as 450 GB of 16/44k FLACs. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Forbidden: settings/index.html
Wow, thanks for the prompt reply! I've just tried with the Pi connected to my router, and things work as expected. The problem is that I want this server to be standalone (actually the plan is for it to be in the car), and once it's installed I won't be able to connect it to the home network. This is why I was hoping to be able to administer it from the Mac... Yes, the Mac is acting as the gateway when it's directly connected. Does this have some bearing on what's going on? pag's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37706 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108599 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Forbidden: settings/index.html
I'm having the same issue trying to connect to the settings page. I have the simplest set up I could imagine: a Raspberry Pi connected directly to my Mac by an ethernet cable. Unfortunately it might be the simplest from a physical point of view. But it's more complicated from a networking POV. Just hook everything up to your router. The Mac's IP address is 192.168.10.1, and it's given the Pi an IP address of 192.168.10.2 Trying to connect using a browser on the Mac I get: 403 Forbidden: settings/server/wizard.html The logs show: Access to settings pages is restricted to the local network or localhost: 192.168.10.1 -> 192.168.10.2 (settings/server/wizard.html) Hmm... is the Mac acting as the gateway for your Pi? That could explain this. As I said: hook the Pi up to your router directly, and all should be fine. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I ran LMS on QNAP for quite a few years. Initially on a TS-109P and then on a 4 bay TS-419. Both are ARM. The 419 still hosts my media files but I now also have a TS-251 at a remote location and use the built in Remote Replication to keep them in sync. I run an old HP Microserver here with a single SSD which runs a hacked Vortexbox 2.4. The 419 is mounted via NFS and CDs rip straight to the QNAP - yes I know the host OS of VB is out of date but it does exactly what I want it to. The SSD holds only the VB install and LMS so the dB is very fast. At the remote location I have a Pi3 running piCorePlayer as LMS and player connecting to the 251 by NFS. Would I run LMS directly on the 251? I suppose I could but I need the Pi as a player there so I dont think Id gain much as at the Pi is more than capable as I only need a single player at that location. The remote replication afforded by the 2 x QNAP means I have a full remote backup and it works a treat. Anything I add to my main library is available the following morning at the remote site. Media is not the only data that is backed up this way. I also use the old TS-109 for a local weekly backup. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error when attempting to Open LMS control panel
Any file/folders beginning pdk in the local Temp are temporary. I would suggest stop LMS and Control panel. Delete all files/folders beginning pdk in the Temp directory and then try to restart Control panel and LMS. In the past we've had issues with antivirus programs blocking those files. What AV product are you using? Maybe it has some status feature where it would list such incidents? -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Some searching in google seems to suggest a missing .dll or an issue with the perl libraries... or perhaps microsoft visual basic.. I've also run an integrity check of my windows installation Any suggestions gratefully received... sutty81's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58392 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109428 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Nonetheless LMS was up from 12:27 to 12:40 waiting for that to be fixed. But then, after successful startup at 13:20 (what had you done before then?) and managing to load a number of plugins, it failed at 13:24. with Audio/Scan.pm line 64 followed by two failed start attempts. What happened at that point? Was there an network failure? Then LMS apparently started successfully at 20:38:58 and stayed up silently until at least 10:22:19 on the 8th On the 9th, LMS started at 15:39:23 and remained up until 16:38:06, when the decoder it reported an unsupported file format after finding a number of files that were shorter than 16 bytes. What did you change to cause this? Whatever it was, it was fatal because LMS then refused to run at all. Do you have much network trouble? Were there network problems or congestion on the 7th? Have you checked your PC's disks for damage and/or filesystem corruption?
