Thanks for the comment. Maybe I'm being partiicularly dim but I don't see how I even open LMS if it is running solely on the external HDD that is attached via USB to the SBT. You can't. That embedded LMS (aka. "TinyLMS") is a stripped down version of LMS which lacks the web UI, support for plugins and much more. As I said before I strongly suggest you run LMS off something else, like eg. a Raspberry Pi. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

My lms has been running for long years too, but for one strange reason it started to crash few months ago. For now i have had no crash since yesterday. Hi Rudi, It is possible to get LMS with SSOTS running on QNAP's but it takes a bit of tech knowledge, editing/replacing specific files etc... there's a good thread on how to do it on the QNAP community forums: https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=123=111583 (you will need to be a registered user on the QNAP forum to access that link). The problem with that method is there are some old modules and libraries in an SSOTS install that suffer from more recently found security flaws and it won't support some of the latest plugins that have been developed by the community here, such as Spotty (for Spotify support) and maybe Shairtunes (use an Apple airplay receiver device as a Squeezebox player) and the latest high quality streams from some radio stations e.g. BBC. Having said that I think someone got the SSL libraries required for Spotty working here: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108066-My-fix-for-IO-Socket-SSL-error-with-LMS-installed-on-QNAP-ARM-NAS-(219P-) digimaster (on this forum, freaksat on the QNAP forums) has built a directly installable Q package QLMS which is what this thread is about but I believe it needs a NAS with an Intel Processor, your 419+ has a Marvell processor so I do not think it is supported by his QLMS What I, and many other would recommend is to get a Raspberry PI and install LMS on that, keep your music collection on your NAS and serve that out to the LMS installation on the Raspberry PI. There are many advantages of going down this route - RPI's are small, cheap to buy and run and are well supported for security patches and well supported here for latest versions of LMS and Plugins. The easiest way to get LMS running on a Raspberry PI is to either: use a Max2Play build for RPI's which includes LMS and gives you a web browser based management page for updates stopping and starting not unlike port 9099 in SSOTS. or a PiCorePlayer build for RPI's which also includes LMS and is well supported by the superb PiCorePlayer (PCP) Team here in this community and again uses a web browser based management More details on Max2Play here: https://www.max2play.com More details on PCP here: https://www.picoreplayer.org plus many threads on this forum, for example: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109404-ANNOUNCE-piCorePlayer-4-0-0 Hope this helps Kev KeBul's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32883 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108702 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
