Years ago I wrote a "scriptlet" (plug-in Perl module code called via a higher-level driver program). Can this idea help for mappings? We do this kind of transliteration for the search, but not the sorting. But I'm not sure we want to use the transliterated character for the grouping, as this might result in really poor experience for eg. Asian languages. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Maybe this helps in any way: 26704 The album "Eybler: Christmas Oratorio" is the last entry of "pocket E" while "Eybler: Die vier letzten Dinge" is the first one in "pocket Ã". The album "Ãcho" is found not in the "Ã" but in the "E pocket". The "à pocket" does not contain any album starting with "Ã". The album "Å»eleÅski: ..." is correctly sorted between "Zelenka: ..." and "Zeller: ..." (while I have to use COMPOSERSORT to get the composer sorted correctly in Custom Browse). +---+ |Filename: lms_ef.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=26704| +---+ QLMS 7.9.2@2.03.21 x64 (digimaster) / QNAP 469L QTS 4.3.4 dolodobendan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67663 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110147 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Wow... now that I see this I wonder how this could possible have gone unseen... or how this changed recently... The problem is that while we do use a SQLite collation for the language specific sorting, extracting the first character does not apply the same logic. I have a similar issue with Artists where I have extra A and extra O type characters (cant type them on iOS easily). They appear in LMS default skin and in Material where extra buckets get dressed but not in ipeng where the listing is pure EN alphabetical. Clearly iPeng uses a different method of getting the list from the server. Whats annoying me further is that I cant detect the Artist with the A character. The O is caused by Olaf Arnaulds but he appears in the real O bucket. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Album grouping buckets
I'm posting this issue as a new thread to avoid (further) hijacking the Material Skin thread. The basic issue is that I believe Albums are not getting placed correctly into the Album letter groupings. It appears LMS is using the Album's actual name to generate first character groupings, and yet using ASCII looks-like canonicalization when placing the albums into the buckets (so A becomes its own bucket, and the album ÁGætis Byrjun gets placed there, and not into the Á - Av bucket where it belongs (that bucket contains Av to By). Material Skin has narrower groupings, and so this exaggerates the issue, in that bucket sizes differ wildly, and are too granular (the top 3 buckets have 9, 8, 5 albums, the next 117, 154, 118). Michael H asked some questions about the version of 7.9.2 being run, and if I was using English language settings, and I this grouping was always like this, but replies were getting confused in the other Material Skin posts. Maybe we should just start afresh. I'm running yesterday's build, always use English settings, and I don't know if this is a regression from previous versions. I found a way to do it by adding manually my Squeezbox screen each tittle in a new play list but that's really a pain. Going through the LMS interface, I can retrieve my play list but I can't add new tittle. No way do do it from the LMS interface ? At the end I would like to get a play list like I have in iTunes and organize in in a friendly manner. A thread could be exist but after to search within a lot, I stopped :( Have all a nice day Pascal Awazleon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68871 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110146 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Hello, I have room on the disks (12 TB of free) I deleted the SSD cache, Make sure you check the partition on which the LMS cache is being stored (see Settings/Information). -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music / LastMix
What mixer are you using? MusicIP. I'm not too familiar with MIP (any more). BUT I know that we never re-wrote it to use non-blocking requests to MIP. Which means that if LMS is just starting to buffer audio data to the player and gets blocked, then yes, playback could get interrupted. DSTM would not start immediately if it wasn't on the last track, but would let the player buffer first, for this very reason. But then this isn't for this thread ;-) -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I have room on the disks (12 TB of free) I deleted the SSD cache, I do not think that tied the rights of files, otherwise it would not work with small directories. I forced the scanner logs to "Debug" and relaunched a scan of the main "My Music" directory In attachments server.log and Scanner.log cordially SG +---+ |Filename: scanner.log.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=26695| +---+ Serge21's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32717 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108702 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

DSTM normally adds tracks unobtrusively but I have noticed that if I jump to the last track in a playlist then playback stalls while DSTM adds tracks. My server is max2play on a Pi3B. There are just too many variables... would it work if the > > files were local on the LMS machine? In that case it would be somewhere > > in the protocol or NAS configuration. > > -- > > Michael I thought about other reasons of such behavior. the Samba configuration on the NAS - no other programms or services have problems while access to NAS; the locale settings on the NAS - they are Ok. I have another windows copy of LMS installed on NAS. Scanner there works perfectly. the configuration of the mount point - what there could be wrong? All files are accessible from other audio players on RPi. Here is the mounting string: Code: //192.168.1.2/music /mnt/music cifs username=x,password=x,iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,vers=1.0 0 0 the mount parameters on the LMS side - what is it? option '--charset=utf8' is set. LMS itself - here I am powerless. As I have mentioned earliar, the problem occurs when scanner meets two paths, written in non-latin characters with equal filenames: /mnt/music/_Детские/Аудиокниги/Роулинг Джоан Кэтлин - Гарри Поттер [Александр Клюквин]/Книга 6 - Гарри Поттер и Принц-полукровка/CD1/0001.mp3 /mnt/music/_Детские/Аудиокниги/Роулинг Джоан Кэтлин - Гарри Поттер [Александр Клюквин]/Книга 6 - Гарри Поттер и Принц-полукровка/CD2/0001.mp3 Each single path doesn't lead to the problem. pppaul's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63259 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110037 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
