Ok, I understand. Ports aren't forwarded so I don't think that could be
the issue.

I need to check the settings when I get home, the local network
restriction is preventing me from accessing the settings over my VPN.

I did do a small experiment though last night before I saw your comment.
I observed that every time the player was powered on it immediately
started playing the previously played playlist. This is not the
behavior it had on the previous install. I hard powered off the player
and powered it back up. Will see today if it's playing automatically
again and I will also see if I play a playlist today if it starts
playing it again on its own later this week.

If you have a Raspberry Pi ... how about installing pCP on it and using
that to install LMS as well?
Then you get a self-container configuration that is known to be complete
and working (elsewhere at least).
It is harder to patch things to include extra debugging but it would
help to (probably) rule out any issue with local network and Internet
connection ... and if you use the same cable and router port then it
probably removes them from the equation as well.

Just to confirm - you have use a full LMS install - not a minimal one
such as Unix tarball without CPAN libraries

OK - I see that now. I see the _http_read reading in the deader and
then no message from _http_read_body - which implies read_entity got
zero bytes or the timer expires.

Is this a blocking issue ?
Could there be something going on in the LMS CPAN/Net/HTTPS/NB.pm or
CPAN/Net/HTTP/NB.pm which has read_entity - IIRC last summer there was a
blocking issue with https but this http URL does not redirect to https.

We can see from the old logs that data - headers at least - came back
(before the reinstall) from the header dump in the in the logs (I don't
think it came from cache based on the log data but I didn't' Tod a deep
check to see what a cache read would have logged).

Yes - so the next step whic as you suggets needs Wireshark - determine
1. Did a GET actually get sent to router ?
2. Was any data sent back ? if yes, then problem in LMS , if No - then
something in the request or local setup (i.e. try system in friends,
neighbours)

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right thread, but it's related to LMS8.

If anyone is using Inguz EQ, and is upgrading to LMS8, you will probably
see that Inguz EQ gives the following Error in the "Plugins" settings

Inactive Plugins > EQ > Plugin is incompatible with this version of
Logitech Media Server. Please update

To resolve this do the following:-
1. Edit the file ...\Squeezebox\server\Plugins\InguzEQ\install.xml,
using something like notepad.
2. Change the entry *7.** to
*8.**
3. Save the file, and then go back to the plugins setting and enable
Inguz EQ
4. Restart LMS and EQ should now be enabled.

I think there is no error message because the Timer expires

Code:

Time::HiRes::time() + $timeout, \&_http_socket_error, $self, $args );

It did not appear ... so ... add a similar piece of code just before the
line just after that point

Code:

# if not, keep going and read the body

But change the text to say something like "no callback on header rcvd"

One of those should always come out (in debug mode) if that area is
reached ... which proves that the edited code is running.

Earlier log points in you last example show that logging indicates when
"body" is processed ... but that did not appear in this situation.

Strange - the logged LMS error message is not returning the error
reason.  The code has

Code:

return $self->_http_error( "Error on HTTP socket: $!", $args );

so the $! should be reason followed by arguments.

in the log there is nothing after the "Error on HTTP socket"

Code:

I just want to compliment your work. I have a QNAP server the same model
as yours. I just discovered this link and was able to install the latest
version 2.10.06.
Works like a charm! I have been using piCore on a Raspberry B3 and it is
quite nice but I am glad I discovered your APP. It was so easy to
install and so far it is quite impressive.
Would love to contribute a donation but I can't find a viable link to
send support. All I could find was

https://www.qnapclub.eu/nl/qpkg/545

this link to QNAP Club but no way to sent funds. Anyway just want to say
thank you! I hope you continue to support this App!

That is the question we are trying to solve but not only why you but
also "how" - what is the trigger that is stopping the response.

Since you seem to be the only one affected - I'd first try to confirm
that it is in your internal setup and not an ISP issue.

Since one system is Pi based system and portable - is it possible to
test it with a different network connection - either in a friends house
(with different ISP) or a using a mobile hot-spot.

What I find strange is that in some logs there is a timeout on GET the
top level radiotime OPML menu - and in others is it is OK but error
occurs on station fetch. This would seem to imply the problem is not
100% consistent

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Touch loses (cable) connection, power cycling helps temporarily

2020-03-12 Thread dolodobendan

One of my touches started to somehow disconnect from LMS. It doesn't
look disconnected, but it's not available in iPeng, etc. Next time this
happens (saw this two times in a couple of days) I'll try and see if the
touch still has access to the server and it "just" lacks
controllability.

Un- and replugging the touch helps for a while. I've read here many
times that faulty wifi modules or power supplies sometimes cause some
trouble. Could this be it? I think I'll just switch the power supplies
for now and see what happens.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] No connection to radio stations via Tuneln Radio

2020-03-12 Thread Paul Webster

If you feel up to it ... you could put some more debug statements in the
code to see which path it is going down.

For example - in
Slim/Networking/Async/HTTP.pm
around line 479 there is this

Code:

  # Does the caller want a callback on headers?
if ( my $cb = $args->{onHeaders} ) {
my $passthrough = $args->{passthrough} || [];
return $cb->( $self, @{$passthrough} );
}

You could insert something like

Code:

if ( main::DEBUGLOG && $log->is_debug ) {

$log->debug("Caller wanted headers - so return");
}

immediately before

Code:

  my $passthrough = $args->{passthrough} || [];

and restart LMS

However, if you do this sort of thing then make sure that you make a
backup of the file(s) before editing - and edit with something that
knows about Linux line-endings.

Edit:
Note - have not tested this

Try this from the command line on the LMS system

1. The http network code is documented with log message which are only
generated when level is DEBUG - no extra message will be generated when
level is INFO
2. As Michael has said, logging message level changes are not normally
kept between restarts unless you have checked the necessary box.

If you do stop & then restart LMS server immediately, when LM is
stopped, I clear the cache.db to make sure behaviour is identical in
each run and cached results are not used.

Yes and No. Because I consider the option "Keep log settings the next
time you restart". Nevertheless I do it also wíthout restarting the

Do NOT restart the server because those changes by default do not
persist. If you want them to persist, then check the box towards the top

I asked a while back to try a fetch from the same machine ... which OP
did via wget and it was very quick.
So - assuming it was from the same machine as LMS is on - then perhaps a
small test program in Perl using same libraries as LMS would repeat the
issue.

The plugin index.html is generated by LMS and all WebUI template
generated pages are cached in Cache/templates directory.

The index.html page of Radio station is generated from the raw data
obtained from http://opml.radiotime.com/Index.aspx?partnerId=16 whic
results in the following OPML code which LMS then uses top egnerate sub
menus.

Code:

Plugin directories contain code and data file but no temporary data.
The Plugin for Tune-in is an LMS one and so would be found in
Slim/Plugin/InternetRadio

The current value is 30.

By the way. As I said selecting Application "Tuneln Radio" the same
connect error occiurs. The correspnding link behind this applciation is
on my LMS:

http://192.168.X.YYY:9000/plugins/radiotime/index.html?=00:04:20:28:a4:72

Furthermore my current setup displays the following plugin folder:

/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins,
/usr/sbin/Plugins, /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins

Unfortunatelly no folder contains any files/data!?

I would expext if the http access shown above contains
".../plugins/radiotime/index" that some data need to be found in
one of the folder?

Is that right?

Regards
Michael

What is the current setting ?

The time gap in the log message seems ot indicate a very small setting
when a "timeout" error occurs.

2020-03-12 Thread ericj

I took the link from the nightly downloads, put it in that box. After
2-3 restarts of LMS, it worked. Good luck.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0.0 Questions

2020-03-12 Thread Man in a van

I don't use M2P but it used to be possible to install an update by
putting the link in one of the dropdown boxes

http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/index.php?ver=8.0

Try on a spare card would be my advice
