Hi all. File this under stupid I guess. I deleted preferences files
and then cleared cache and re-scanned. It's all good now.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks for reminding me, Staribartfast. I went back to my old 2014 logs
and discovered I had found a work-a-round using the Web Interface. But
since it was a Windows 7 machine with different hardware system, I
hadn't considered that would work the same. However, here's what I have
determined. If I add a folder using the Web>Basic Settings page and
rescan, it keeps the folder and I can see and run the tracks on my SB
OK. However, if I apply and save this new list, then open Control Panel,
I do not see the change I made in the Web Interface. Further If I close
the CP and re launch it, it starts a rescan automatically and reverts
back to the original list(less the added folder). When I check the Web
Interface>Basic Settings, it has also been returned to the original list
minus the folder that I had added and used on my SB. The Control Panel
seems to be stuck on one list and rescans back to that list when any
changes are made. Is there a way to disable the auto-rescan when I first
launch the Control Panel? Is there some reason why the Web Interface and
Control Panel are not linked or synced? Would doing an update to the
most recent version(7.9.2) possibly cure this problem? BTW, thanks for
the other responses. I appreciate the suggestions and may try those if
need be.

Hi d6jg. Thanks, and I get that. When I browse to the sight, I am able
to sign in normally. And those credentials are the same as I entered
into the LMS Account tab. I may be thinking of this too simplistically.
Do you have any thoughts here of what I might be not doing.

Thanks again.

I run it headless. It’s in a cupboard in the loft on a ups. I Check it
every quarter physically when I read my pv meter. Apart from spotty
stopping (which was my fault probably) it has been ok. I like the fact
it will take larger hard drives over 2tb. I back up the whole lot to a
drobo then the drobo to another drobo at my office. I lost all my rips
years ago when a raid 5 card died. I may be rambling...

I must admit I'm not particularly keen on a new install of an OS that is
already out of extended support. But equally at work once a month
something stops working on my PC when the updates come in and it takes
hours or days to fix it. I don't want that constant load of maintenance
at home.

Windows 10 is my other option, but a) I hate it (use it at work) and b)
I already have a licence for WHS 2011 (I forget why) but I'd have to buy
Windows 10.

A Raspberry Pi will need an external power supply, then external discs
over USB3, and I hate the clutter. I want a neat single box solution.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS V7.7.6 issue

2020-03-18 Thread DanB

Hi all. I replied to this earlier but don't see it as a part of the
thread so I'll recreate it.

My situation where I was not able to connect to my Squeezebox classic is
now mostly resolved. What I ultimately did was to reimage (Clean
reimage) the machine. I was able to connect successfully to the
squeezebox afterwards, albeit I am not able to sync with
mysqueezebox.com, and so I don't have access to the apps that I manage
there. But I am able to play music managed on my desktop, and other
radio stations.

As info, before the reimage I found that not only was I unable to
connect to the squeezebox but I was unsuccessful in pinging the AT
router that I rent. I got a general failure message. After the
re-image I pinged the router successfully. And, after each program was
run I did the same - until I loaded the last one, the VPN I use
(NordVPN) which broke the setup. I unistalled it and brought it back to
a working condition again. NordVPN, I subsequently determined doesn't
support certain routers, and my router - the Pace 5268AC must have
finally been added to the list.

So, my question now is whether anyone has experience a failure to sync
with mysqueezebox.com? BTW, I control the squeezebox via an iOS V13 app
called iPeng V9.7.2. The Logitech app quit working a number of iOS OS
updates ago.

Thanks in advance. Dan

Windows Home Server 2011 (not really v2) is based on Windows Server 2008
R2. And yes, just run the regular LMS, not the LMS for WHSv1.

Headphones and car - Android phone/Bluetooth w/full library on MicroSD

Sorry but I don't actually use playlists in earnest so never come across
that. I can't see how LMS could actually block duplicates.

If you want to quickly edit a playlist you can do so with any text
editor - my Windows recommendation is Notepad++ - it can be plugged into
WinSCP as the Editor.

I searched for this issue, found this thread:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109074-Playlist-not-saving-to-LMS/page2=playlist+temp+folder

and after adding 'uid-1001,gid=50' in the mount settings in
PiCorePlayer, new playlists are stored in the playlistfolder.
Thanks a lot for your help, I'm kind of addicted to LMS so I appreciate
it very much:)

One last question. I noticed double entries in my playlists. Is there a
way to prevent this and if not to easily search for them?

I searched and read this thread:

So after adding 'uid=1001,gid=50' a new playlist is put in the playlist
folder! Fantastic. Thank you very much for all your help! I'm kind of
addicted to LMS so I appreciate this very much:)

Can I ask you one more thing. I have large playlists and I noticed that
sometimes I had put double entries in them. Is there a way to prevent
this or search for double entries?
