Thanks for the swift reply Michael, but unfortunately LMS 8 does the
same.

Make sure you remove all customizations you applied: remove

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Unable to seek within a track using TIDAL plugin

2020-09-18 Thread bitsubatsu

I have successfully set up the TIDAL plugin on mysqueezebox.com and I'm
having fun trying out the hi res audio with a 1 month free
subscription. It all works very well and I'm very happy except that when
I try and seek to a certain point in a track, my players just skip to
the next track instead. This happens all the time. I haven't found
anyone else mentioning this, so I wondered if it might be some
configuration problem. I have tried creating a custom-convert.conf file
that uses SOX to transcode and that stopped the occasional stuttering I
was originally hearing, but this problem existed before that change.

I can't see any relevant entries in the server log.

I'm running LMS v7.9.3 on Windows Server 2012 streaming to Squeezebox
Booms and a Squeezebox Receiver and they all have the same problem.

Any thoughts on things to try would be much appreciated, thank you.

That's good. If the problem has gone away - the cause of the original
problem may have been something left in a cache somewhere.

Remember because of a UK court case - some station have been removed
from Tunein/Radiotime so a saved Favorite for such a station will fail.
Favorites can also fail if a station updates its URL and the Favorite
has the "old" URL.

Yes that's correct. I can build the latest ssl and I know it works
because I use it for squeezelite and Net::SSLeay builds without issue
but the tests fail as I've mentioned and the same happens if you install
it anyway and try to run LMS.

I'll spend some time in the coming days to see if I can figure out the
prototype mismatch problem. I could try to reach out to andyg as well,
if I still get no joy.

I did a quick test to try and build openssl using the AS perl supplied
gcc and it's a no go with gcc.

Code:

C:\Perl\cpan\build\openssl-1.1.1g>perl Configure Cygwin-x86 no-shared zlib
no-zlib-dynamic threads
  Configuring OpenSSL version 1.1.1g (0x1010107fL) for Cygwin-x86
  Using os-specific seed configuration
  Set up gcc environment - 3.4.5 (mingw-vista special r3)

  **
This perl implementation doesn't produce Unix like paths (with forward slash
directory separators). Please use an implementation that matches your
  building platform.

This Perl version: 5.14.2 for MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
  **

I've uploaded 2 zip files with the source and compiled binary files for
the modules, so I didn't miss anything as I just did an nmake install of
the modules directly into the AS perl site location on the VM. I think
you only need what's in the lib and blib folders.

I'd suggest we just add the modules to the windows nightly builds as
it's pretty simple to revert the changes in git and spin another build
if things go wrong.

have problems with Radiotime. This issue may manifest itself in other
ways with other plugins. It is usually a good thing to determine and
eliminate issues.

What specific time expiry issues are you talking about ? How did you
diagnose it ?
What URL are you trying to play ?

Your unplayable URL is most likely a format or possible geo locked
issue as it is most common cause or possibly the Radiotime issue in
another guise.

Ok, you're saying that you haven't succeeded updating the underlying

So far every attempt to build IO::Socket::SSL v2.068 against an OpenSSL
1.0.2u and 1.1.1g win32 I've built using visual studio 2010sp1 results
in prototype mismatch errors for the randomize calls.

Code:

Prototype mismatch: sub Net::SSLeay::randomize (;$$$) vs none at (eval 13)
line 1.

and some of the tests crash perl! I plan to try building openssl using
the activestate gcc compiler so see if that's the issue.
I'm not sure what compiler activestate used to build the 5.14.2 perl.
When I run perl -V in a command prompt it lists the gcc compiler and
when I run the same from a Visual Studio 2010 command prompt it lists
the VS 16.x compiler.

However, I have been able to build IO::Socket::SSL v2.068 against the
last updated Net:SSLeay v1.74 provided from activestate.

Code:

01loadmodule.t .. 1/3 # openssl version compiled=0x1000207f
linked=0x1000207f -- OpenSSL 1.0.2g  1 Mar 2016
  # Net::SSLeay version=1.74

Unfortunately, the openssl version used by activestate doesn't include
TLSv1.3 support.

Code:

t/protocol_version.t .. 1/? # looks like OpenSSL was compiled
without TLSv1_3 support
Use of uninitialized value $cmd in pattern match (m//) at
t/protocol_version.t line 119.

The IO::Socket::SSL v2.068 with the latest Mozilla-CA 20200520 root
certificate pem perl module fixes the extension downloader error I've
been getting.

Thanks, but this is clear. The question was: where is the process of
up-/downgrade via file in download share explained? It is not in the
README_ON_TROUBLE file. What kind of file has to be placed there? File
extension .tgz? Is it the normal download file from the
slimdevices/nightly page?
In my case for example
"logitechmediaserver-8.0.0-1600144351-arm-linux.tgz"?

But I think, I can answer myself and perhaps a few others the question
now.
I found something in the "QLogitechMediaServer version 2.x Help-file".
Perhaps Digimaster can place the actual one as a text file into the
installation root like the README_ON_TROUBLE file.

Here is a part of the answer:

QLogitechMediaServer version 2.x Help-file

[ command line options ]
...
...

./QlogitechMediaServer.sh upgrade

When there is a upgrade file available, will do a upgrade.
FOR A DOWNGRADE, PLACE THE FILE IN THE DOWNLOADSHARE, THEN WILL NOT
CHECK ON INSTALLED VERSION OF LMS !
( Will handle a upgraded, and if LMS is running will stop if first )

./QlogitechMediaServer.sh rollback

Lets you rollback, to earlier installed release of LMS if they have been
installed.
Will show a menu, where you can choice a older version. ( Only if that
version was installed earlier )
( Very usfull if a new release is causing trouble, don't forget to
disable updates with NOUPDATE=0 to stop updating/upgrading ! )
