Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Config backup/restore

2020-09-24 Thread Michael Herger

So, If I need to recover my LMS configuration again, or start over due
to some problem or other, on Windows I just restore
C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\
C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\prefs\

I'd only care about prefs. The cache is large and would be re-built anyway.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0 repository problem

2020-09-24 Thread cathcam

I installed LMS v8.0.0, 1600976618 to see if this resolved the problems
I was seeing on Windows 10 and can confirm after re-installing and
configuring my plug-ins, I'm getting no errors at startup and all my
plugins are working, inc. Spotty.

Thank you so much for the effort on this.

-- Windows VS Linux ---

I could indeed switch my LMS Server to Linux from Windows, but I suspect
a whole new set of problems would open up. I use 2x 2008-year ReadyNas
servers accessed from Windows via SMB, one is the primary, the other is
a backup of the primary and backs up weekly directly using rsync. The
primary is linked as a drive into LMS Windows system. The LMS Windows
system also does an incremental backup everyday of any new files in the
music/pictures/documents folder to the cloud using iDrive who allow the
backup of network drives from Windows.

I run the LMS on a 2014 Dell OptiPlex 3020 headless and access via
Remote Desktop Connection. Everything is automated. So yeah I could
switch, but I'd prefer not to.

If I can ever be of any help testing or debugging LMS on Windows, I'm
always willing...

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] How to prevent adding duplicate entries to playlists?

2020-09-24 Thread philchillbill

The MediaServer Alexa skill will tell you if a song you are adding to a
named playlist already contains that exact version of the song. If it’s
a different version it allows it. And you specify the name of the
playlist to target by voice so you can use as many as you like. If the
playlist does not exist yet it is created.

‘Alexa, add this track to my Workout playlist’.
‘No need. The song is already in your Workout playlist.’

Ha yes, seems to be working fine. Here are the lines from my log since
installing and restarting.

I have basically started over as of yesterday. Same WIN10 System,
installed 8.0 this morning and have been adding plug-ins and favorites
back as needed. Latest doesn't give errors, I have 3-things left to fix.
See below, Radio Fix, then Youtube API Key, and then to install Spotify
plug-in and everything will be back to how it was.

Thanks so much as always. Do you want me to post on the other thread to
confirm it's working for me?

I've been having exactly this problem for a few weeks on Windows 10
update 2004.

I've tried every release, 7.9.3 stable, various 7.9.4, and am now
running 8.0.0 1600604030 and actually logged on this morning to see
there there is any resolution. I've posted on numerous forums trying to
get help, but it seems to be mostly being discussed on this

Some of the most Senior of the LMS community at looking at ways to solve
the problem, but it may not be solvable.

This sucks. I'm using the same SQLite version as you, and I can run
those queries on your library just fine. I'll give it another try in a
build later today. I'm wondering whether I'm missing something here. The
log file seems to indicate there's a problem with a string in the query.
But as I said: I don't see this issue with your library :-(.

Thanks for testing!

I have LMS 7.9.3 and LMS 8 running on Windows 10 at version 2004 update.
It runs on a headless PC down in the basement that only has a single
Administrator userid, where LMS is started at login, which is
auto-logged on after booting.31681

How do you actually tell its running as Administrator? The screen image
is from a remote login to the server.

Thanks for taking this seriously enough to respond! I am accustomed to
my projects being too obscure and too weird to get any responses. I
think people usually read about them and think, "Why would you want to
do that? And why would you go to that much trouble?" But this being the
generous community it is, they're too polite to say that.

I was not aware of either of those Android apps, so I appreciate that
information. I use Mercury-SSH, which is similar to the SSH button.

Ok, figured something out: I was looking up stuff in the FTS index by
the track ID. But in some library versions this value would NOT be
