Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Help - LMS / Tidal has become skippy
Hi all, further to the above, I've now found that I have to restart LMS about every 3 days otherwise the track skipping behaviour mentioned above starts. I do this by adding or removing any Plugin that I'm not using, forcing a restart. After that, it's fine... for about 3 days. Anyone else have that? It's liveable, but would be real nice to get rid of. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Normalising artist tag characters to avoid duplicates
The issue with scripts is that you have to keep on running them. Yes the ideal is to fix the tags at source, but it's a nver ending task as one adds to the library. The LMS scanner would just do it in the database each time. The taste aspect could be catered for by specifying which would be the master (oops, sorry) primary character string to substitute for aliases e.g. "The [artist]" for ""[artist], The", "and" for "&" or "And" etc. There's a similar function 'Articles to Ignore When Sorting' already under My Music, with the default "The El La Los Las Le Les". mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112988 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Normalising artist tag characters to avoid duplicates
Hi Is it possible for the media scanner to ignore common variants of Artist names to avoid duplicates in the Artist list? (I'm sure this will have been asked before but I couldn't find the answer.) For example normalising "The", &, 'and', punctuations and case variants would prevent these from all being listed as different artists: The Smiths Smiths, The 2 many dj's 2 Many DJ's 2 many dj"s Babes in toyland Babes In Toyland Belle & Sebastian Belle and Sebastian Belle And Sebastian Yes I know I could spend (even more) time with mp3tag but it'd be really handy to have an LMS scanner option to do this automagically. mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112988 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] SlimP3 not connecting
Have just fired up my SliMP3 and all seem to work, this is with LMS 8 on a "Full Fat" Linux so not directly equivalent. I was wondering if SliMP3 had auto LMS discovery (it does) however in settings (at first boot) you can specify the LMS server IP Address. I would try to specify the LMS server IP first and if all OK then try to troubleshoot the autodiscovery failure. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can you connect Tidal/Deezer/Qobuz to LMS8 just like Spotify
Hi, Is there a way to connect TIDAL to LMS just like Spotify does? The LMS player should show up in the devices list of the TIDAL android app. To clarify what I would like to do: my setup: - me: on my couch, in front of my stereo, holding my android device - audio source: LMS8 running on a raspi4 with a digione signature hat Basically I want use my android phone as the only remote control to listen to HiRes music. This ist what works: - using "squeeze ctrl" to listen to Tidal HiRes Streams - using "squeeze ctrl" to playback audio files (from usb, network) - using "spotify" android app: connect to chromecast, google home, LMS - using "Tidal" android app: connect to chromecast, google home but NOT to LMS - using "Deezer" or "Qobuz" android app: connect to chromecast, google home but NOT to LMS So it's absolutely great, that I can already listen to HiRes streams with this setup and thanks for all the work gone into the plugins. But I really would enjoy a more seamless experience. Like discovering new music with Tidal, while listening on my prime stereo. Now I discover new music listening to spotify, then search it in Tidal and add it to favourites, then restart the Squeeze Ctrl app so it refreshes the favourites, then click through my apps --> Tidal --> my favourites --> titles --> and finally on the newly added song. The whole process feels very disruptive to the listening experience. Using only Spotify would be seamless but then there ist no point in using Tidal or any other HiRes streaming service at all. Does such a plugin or possibility already exist (and I'm just to stupid to find it)? Best regards and thanks for your support, Phil PS: This is what it lookes like (Wohnzimmer and Wohnzimmer TV are chromecast and google home devices, "signature" ist the LMS Player I want.
