[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Setting Unicode on LMS for Windows?
I'm running LMS on a small Win10 box. I have a large music collection that has many artists and works with foreign accents in the file and folder names, and LMS is refusing to scan those files. I see elsewhere that, for various Linux versions, the situation is to run LMS with ---charset=utf8- as an argument, but I can't figure out how to do that with Windows, where it's run from SqueezeTray.exe, which is part of my startup items. I don't see anything in SqueezeTray that allows me to pass arguments to the server, nor anything in the current server's Prefs directory that would allow me to do so. Advice, anyone? the nightfly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42075 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114753 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

So thanks again. > I am still working on organlive, organ experience and positively > baroque. Radionet does not seem to work for me on these. The method that I described was for RadioNet. As bpa said, RadioNet is a directory and URL's can get out of date. The default radio station directory used by LMS is TuneIn. If you do a search via Radio => Search, a search is done in the TuneIn directory. I found all 3 stations that you mention via Radio => Search, but "The Organ Experience" does not play (I get an error "401 Unauthorized"). The other 2 stations (Organ Live and Positively Baroque) work for me. To save these stations with icon using the LMS web GUI, do the following: 1) Go to Radio => Search. Do NOT click on Search (see (*) below), but hover over Search, enter your search text in the search box, and click on the search button at the right side of the search box. This is illustrated in the picture below. 2) In the Search result list that you then get, hover over the station that you want to add as a favorite, and click the favorite (save) button. The station is then stored as a favorite with icon. 3) Check if the station plays by clicking the play button. (*) Note: If I click on Search and enter the search text in the next screen, I do get a search result, but the option to save the found station as a favorite is missing. Like with RadioNet, not all stations in the TuneIn directory play. It also depends on the country that you live in. What I read in this forum is that when you happen to live in the UK, many radio stations in the TuneIn directory are blocked because of Geo-blocking policies. 35062 +---+ |Filename: Radio_Search.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35062| +---+ | LMS 8.1.2 | Squeezebox Boom | RPi0W + pCP 7.0.1 + HiFiBerry DAC Zero | SqueezeAMP | CJS's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68700 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114729 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Songs disappear from LMS' database when NAS is not (yet) connected
Hi all, I am using LMS on a Raspberry Pi (piCorePlayer) with a network share as music source. Sometimes it happens the network share is not mounted properly during LMS' boot phase because the NAS is not yet up and ready (see also 'piCorePlayer v7.0.0: network disk mount -- retry settings not working' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113837-piCorePlayer-v7-0-0-network-disk-mount-retry-settings-not-working)). When attempting to play songs, LMS can't do that of course (because the corresponding files are not visible to it). Here is an example of what server.log is telling me: Code: [21-06-23 09:42:42.8585] Slim::Formats::readTags (176) File missing: /mnt/music/Black Sabbath/1980 - Heaven and Hell/02 - Black Sabbath - Children of the Sea.mp3 [21-06-23 09:42:42.8770] Slim::Player::Protocols::File::open (91) Warning: [file:///mnt/music/Black%20Sabbath/1980%20-%20Heaven%20and%20Hell/02%20-%20Black%20Sabbath%20-%20Children%20of%20the%20Sea.mp3] not bothering opening file with zero size or duration [21-06-23 09:42:42.8790] Slim::Player::Song::open (480) Warning: stream failed to open [file:///mnt/music/Black%20Sabbath/1980%20-%20Heaven%20and%20Hell/02%20-%20Black%20Sabbath%20-%20Children%20of%20the%20Sea.mp3]. The actual problem now is that LMS removes those songs from its database. And the only way to get the songs back into the database (once the network share is properly mounted) is to do a full rescan ("Clear library and rescan everything"). This is pretty annoying as it always takes a while to complete the rescan operation (approx. 1 hour). Is there any way to avoid songs being removed from the database in such situations? If not, is there any quicker way get "lost" songs back into the database?
