It -never- ceases to amaze me how I -still- sometimes don't think through all (directory and file) permissions consequences even after more than a dozen years since converting virtually everything over to Linux and other *nix flavors. [ Here I had just increased access security -- so I could quickly surmise permissions were likely the problem, but I -really- didn't "see" folder execute (off) as the logical reason for the breakage. ] That handy link you referenced is also a great reminder to take better advantage of the "sticky bit." I think many of us can forget the (strong!) utility of that at our peril! You could just give it a try, even without mounting your NAS as a library (say, put a few albums on a USB Thumb drive). Hi. An update as requested. I downloaded LMS 8.2.1 whcih allowed me to upgrade my Touch to version 7.8.0 r16754. I then installed the EDO add in. It took a few attempts with some error messages and reboots needed. I turned off LMS for the Roon link to be reenabled. It all seems to work - i can play 24/192 audio tracks from Qobuz and the rates show on my DAC. Only issue i have is that i sometimes hear a click when there is a track change with different bit rates. That said, it coudl be my DAC Anyway... great to be abel to use the Touch again. I am running LMS on a Mini-PC (Celeron/8Gb Ram, Music locally on a SATA-SSD, Debian 11, LMS 8.2.0) and have, as I said above, exactly the same problem with my SB Radio. Bevore that I was running LMS on a very low powered NAS (QNAP TS-110, local SATA-HDD, 256MB Ram, LMS 7.7.6) for years and it didn't have that problem. I don't think it's caused by whatever hardware you are running your LMS on.
