I've been looking for a way to solve this for a while as I use one of my
Booms as an alarm clock. I am a complete novice with Linux, can you
explain to me where exactly this file is in the folder structure of the
QNAP NAS? In /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/ or
elsewhere?

I see, I had got confused with the release of V2 of
QLogitechMediaServer. Is the intention to eventually have QLMS supercede
QLogitechMediaServer?

And one other observation - both QLMS and QLogitechMediaServer are using
a different timezone to my NAS. For me in London both are one hour ahead
of the timezone displayed in the Web GUI of my NAS, even after the end
of daylight saving time. I know that timezone in a chroot environment is
different to the root timezone and can be changed by making a soft link
to the correct timezone file but I have no idea how to amend this in
QLMS or QLogitcheMediaServer.

That makes sense - I suspect I hadn't uninstalled the beta when I first
tried version 2.0. Thanks for the explanation

Seems there is a permission problem with writing slimserver.pl, is this

I removed 1.10.b2 and installed 1.10.b3, seems to be working fine here
in 4.3.4.0569 on a TS-251.
As a potential bug report I noticed yesterday with 1.10.b2 that the
clock display on my Booms is one hour fast. It is still one hour fast
with 1.10.b3, the QLMS package seems to be taking system time from my
NAS and adding an hour. Something to do with time zone or daylight
saving time? I don't see any relevant settings in .qpkg.CONF that I can
change to fix this.

Yes, my NAS is a dual-core J1800 Celeron with 8Gb RAM, but your library
is also 10 times larger than mine. I'd forgotten to check the
performance setting, but after a bit of experimentation there seems to
be <10% difference in scan time whether database memory config is set to
normal, high or maximum and whether scanner priority is set to normal 0
or -20. Presumably this is because the CPU and memory resources in this
NAS are more than enough for a smaller library.

I have now installed QLMS 1.10.b2 x86-64 on a TS-251 Firmware
4.3.4.0569
Installed over 1.10.b1, no QLogitechMediaServer install present.

It is working fine, thank you. 10,000 file full scan took about twice as
long as 1.10.b1 at 484 seconds. The LMS webGUI is very fast and
responsive. Shairtunes plugin working, Radio Paradise working, BBC
iPlayer working so I'm very happy, thank you!
As an added bonus it has nudged me to begin to learn linux in order to
locate, edit and save the .QLMS.conf file to enable nightly updates. It
took me a while to figure out it was hidden and how to reveal it!

I will report back tomorrow when I've tried some plugins but looks good
so far, well done!

2018-10-11 Thread SMC

Thanks Digimaster for your ongoing efforts with LMS implementation on
QNAP NAS.
I've tried 1.08 previously and was unable to set it up, gave up quickly
and waited for your next release.
I have previously run LMS within Container station using Oyvindo's very
helpful advice at https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=354=123933, I
gave up on this because it was unable to support Shairtunes

I've just installed the 1.10 X86_64 beta on a QNAP TS-251 FW 4.3.4.0569

so far:
- It installs OK but says 'unable to resolve IP address for
mysqueezbox.com' during the installation process when prompting for
mysqueezebox login (and subsequently if I enter this data via the
mysqueezebox.com tab in server settings)
- Music library scan works and I can connect to a Boom and play my
music, great!
- I can't update the plugin list to test various essentials (BBC
iPlayer, Shairtunes) because when updating plugin list this message
appears:

Bad repository
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154testrelease-repo.xml
- Couldn't resolve IP address for: downloads.sourceforge.net
Bad repository http://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml -
Couldn't resolve IP address for: repos.squeezecommunity.org

It looks to me like the QLMS 1.10 is not being permitted access to the
internet from my NAS. Any ideas how I resolve this?

> Michael

I have now thanks for the suggestion. I uploaded both 1513400996 and the
latest build which my LMS had downloaded to the cache and Kaspersky had
again quarantined as infected. 1513400996 and 1513951369 are both given
a clean bill of health by all but one service - Dr Web flags them both
as infected with a Trojan 1.56129.
If I download 1513951369 direct from downloads/slimdevices.com via
Firefox, a Kaspersky scan says it is clean. Once I run the .exe, both
Windows Defender and Kaspersky detect a Trojan and block the program
from running.
I suspect this is a problem specific to my machine.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Windows nightly build 7.9.1-1513400996 reported as infected with malware

2017-12-22 Thread SMC

On my local Windows PC running as LMS server, Kaspersky Internet
security 2018 has deleted the automatic download of
LogitechMediaServer-7.9.1-1513400996.exe and reports it is infected with
the malware Trojan-Banker.Win32.Banbra.wihm
Anybody else seeing this behaviour from AV software? Is it possible that
an LMS nightly has been infected?

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Qnap bad day!

2017-01-25 Thread SMC

Sorry I can't help you with logging in or surveillance station, hope you
get this fixed.

However, I do have a TS251 running LMS. Take a look at
https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=354=123933 - you may need to
register on QNAP forum if not already.
Oyvindo's helpful guide will take you through the process of installing
container station and setting up a virtual linux machine running
Logitech Media Server.
I have found the TS251 configured like this to be a fast and reliable
LMS machine.
