Tested again today, it is working perfectly.

I am somewhat confused, I do not see that option available for download
on the releases page, or did you mean something else?

I did try to install LMS on a 64 bit version of Pi OS. I was not able to
get any sort of webUI access to LMS. This post was the the one that lead
me to believe there was no 64bit version available

if there are any plans for a Debian ARM 64bit version of the beloved LMS

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Config backup/restore

2020-12-25 Thread justjason

Settings would be easy. But the plugins? I always say "don't mess with
the LMS managed plugins", because it can be a mess. Backup might work,
but restore not. Might help in cases where a plugin disappears from the

net. But in general it's not a good idea.

I was not thinkng of backing up the actual plugin, but rather something
using a list of installed plaugins so that the freshly installed LMS
knows what plugins it would would need to install in order to be
restored to its previous state. What ever works best.

One option would be make this only availible on a fresh install.

What other option does LMS offer ?

I would have a hard time recreating a lost photo, however a LMS setup
can be recreated, it just takes time to set it all up and I would be
happy to fiind a more streamlined way of doing that.

I would like to see a backup function that covers installed plugins and
there settings as well as any settings that have been configured in the
LMS. I imagine something like a function "Save configuration" that would
generate a downloadable file and a function like "Restore from
configuration file" where I could upload such a file on a fresh install
and click "Restore" and in a few minutes, I will have a fully setup LMS
just as before.
I do not mind if this is done as a separate plugin, but as a beginner,
searching through the file system and hoping that I have copied the
correct file to be later replaced has a hit and miss kind of success.
When you say a backup through the OS I take it you mean an entire OS
image backup including all other installed software ? If so, yes, that
is one way to do it, but if i break something in LMS
I would like to be able to restore LMS without a full OS restore.

I think a backup and restore fuction would be a great addotion to the
LMS platform, I know I would use it often.

yes, It looks like the output from
dpkg --print-architecture
is
armhf
so it would not match a package version

Sure, So what I want is a script that can download and install the
latest version of LMS 8.0 , not to update it, just the initial setup of
a device.
I used the example of 7.9.3 to show how I am doing it for that version.
This works because the 7.9.3 version is not updated very often, so the
package name remains the same ( at least for a long time ) . The LMS 8.0
is however is in constant development so the package name changes with
the version number for each new release. this means a simple script like
this
mkdir lms
cd lms
wget
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/8.0/lms/a119a1cd8dee685b58652204a248e1f45f9056e9/logitechmediaserver_8.0.0~1605106581_arm.deb
&&
sudo dpkg -i llogitechmediaserver_8.0.0~1605106581_arm.deb
cd
rm -R lms

would work today, but on the next release, it would fail

Does anyone have a script that they use for intalling LMS 8.0 on linux
systems. I am having a hard time doing it as the version changes break
my simple script.
This would be what I use for 7.9 as it is generaly stable

mkdir lms
cd lms
wget
http://downloads-origin.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v7.9.3/logitechmediaserver_7.9.3_arm.deb
&&
sudo dpkg -i logitechmediaserver_7.9.3_arm.deb
cd
rm -R lms

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Stop button display setting not remaining on reboot

2020-10-27 Thread justjason

Good questions, I should have given a few more details. So I am using
LMS 8.0-1603273434 and I am running material skin. This is on a pi so
arm - Debian The display stop button option is found in the settings
menu ( just settings, not server / player settings)
On activation the stop button will appear in the bottom left corner.
This is perfect. Unfortunately on reboot, this setting is lost and stop
button is gone until it is once again activated in the settings menu.

I use the stop button instead of pause. It helps when switching

This is the first time using LMS for me on Linux,. I have used it in
windows and have used the same files and settings pointed to my Music
folder, but the scan does not identify any of them. Is there something
else I need to add or install for using LMS in Mint?
