Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS into DLNA/UPNP end point: Real world experiences
I simply installed PhillipeÂs DLNA UPNP Bridge on LMS and my Naim Uniti Atom just showed up as a player in LMS. Not only did playing a song work great, but the album art and title showed perfectly on the Uniti display, and the metadata that the Naim App looks at to construct a cool booklet just worked as well (this is a little inconsistent, but that seems to be a bug in the Naim app) So far, the only negative IÂve found with the DLNA plugin is the lack of a donate button to show my appreciation to Phillipe for creating such a great plugin. I canÂt vouch for other players, but my case worked effortlessly mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115607 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] How does Advanced Search handle multiple genre tags?
Ran into something similar. If I tell Advanced Search to find songs in genre Funk, it works correctly. If I ask it to do a text search for the "Funk" genre, it also gives me songs whose genre is "Funk Rock," which seems to prevent text search from being accurately used to choose multiple genres. If people are OK with it, I would be interested in doing a PR to make the genre selection dropdown multi-select as well as add "genres to exclude" drop down (like I believe Multilibrary supported). mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112872 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

First, I created a shared folder name Scratch in the Storage section of the GUI, then I used the LMS Setting/Information to figure out that LMS was installed as /share/ZFS530_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer. Finally, I ssh'ed into the NAS and ran Code: cd /share/Scratch ln -s /share/ZFS530_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/ LogitechMediaServer Now, the LogitechMediaServer Folder appears in my Scratch share, and I can edit the perl code on my local machine using VSCode w/tabnine :) mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108702 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Thanks, Michael. No, I don't want to open to the Internet. I'm more concerned with the local browsing experience, which still seems to be degraded. In addition to the "Not secure" warning which appears in the browser, when I click on App Gallery, I get a frowny face, which I am wildly speculating is because Chrome won't let me mix http and https content (Firefox at least lets me open the app gallery in a different tab). I just downloaded QLogitechMediaServer to my brand new QNAP TVS-h1288x to migrate LMS off my ancient ReadyNAS Pro serving files to Windows. I expected an improvement in scan time, but I never expected my scan time would go down from 16 minutes and 11 seconds down to just 23 seconds! Way to go! A couple of quick questions. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] QLogitechMediaServer for Qnap with QTS 4.2 or higher and x86_64/I686/X86 support !
Based on my odyssey described in https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113274-Upgraded-from-7-9-1-gt-7-9-4-Logitech-Media-Server-died-Restarting, I have decided to replace my very old ReadyNAS PRO with a new NAS, mostly for running LMS, and I'd like whatever I get to last just as long, and I would appreciate it if anyone could share advice on the following - Is QLogitechMediaServer a good go-forward platform? - Are we are confident will continue to be supported for a long time? - I do occasional messing around with the Perl scripts in LMS and often ssh into my NAS to examine my LMS and restart it with debugging parameters. Will it be difficult for me to continue to do so? Sometime I use Windows, which is bad for this purpose because it compiles the perl scripts. Are there any similar gotchas for debugging/development on QLMS? - I use tons of plugins (mainly Erland's, which I remove the 7.9 version limitation on). Anything QNap-specific I need to be aware of? - I do have problems with responsiveness (esp. around scans and serving artwork when browsing). This is the main reason I'd like to run something onbox on a powerful NAS rather than connecting via a raspberry pi. Is this concern valid? If I get a good QNap NAS, will the performance be strong? I remember mherger mentioning slower performance on a NAS than pi. While I think that was on a synology, I figure I shouldn't just assume NAS performance will be better. mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108702 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Getting rid of the XSLoader loop no longer fixes it (I'm also a little hesitant about moving to v8 without Erland plugin official support as I use them extensively) While I'm happy to help debug the issue for other ReadyNAS users, I'm thinking it's maybe time to give up the ghost on the ReadyNAS Pro. I've certainly gotten my money's worth from it, but not only does it seem to require a lot of tweaking to get LMS >7.9.1 to run. It also has started getting the plugin repository timeout message discussed elsewhere due to old OpenSSL libraries that would require a lot of work to upgrade (apt-get seems to depend on a "Permanently Moved" ReadyNAS repository). What do you recommend for someone who wants to store music on a NAS (I have been saved multiple times from losing my music library due to a failed disk) and likes to install nightlies and hack on the code? mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113274 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Upgraded from 7.9.1 => 7.9.4: Logitech Media Server died. Restarting.
Hi Michael, OK. This fixes it, but seems insane. In /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/lib/Audio/Scan.pm Code: BEGIN { # foreach ('0.99', '0.93', '0.95', '0.94') {# Get rid of this line foreach ('0.95') { # And replace it with this one eval { XSLoader::load('Audio::Scan', $_); }; if (!$@) { $VERSION = $_; last; } } } My best guess is some stale state in XSLoader from the first two failed loop iterations (they return a version number mismatch, which is eaten by the eval). I've also verified that the Scan.so version is 0.95. Still, I've triple-checked that change allows LMS to come up and play music. I'm going to try running a scan next. mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113274 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

OK. Thanks for responding, Michael. Unfortunately, the log is also the same Code: prairie:/etc/frontview/addons/bin/SQUEEZEBOX# cat /c/.squeezeboxserver/log/server.log 2020-11-21 00:30:05 squeezeboxserver_safe started. 2020-11-21 00:30:20 Logitech Media Server died. Restarting. Did any binary modules change between 7.9.1 and 7.9.4? mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113274 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Upgraded from 7.9.1 => 7.9.4: Logitech Media Server died. Restarting.
A small update. Following the advice in https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113243-Media-Server-7-9-2-not-working-on-ReadyNAS-Ultra/page2, I set SLIMOPTIONS to --d_startup with absolutely no change in behavior :( mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113274 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Upgraded from 7.9.1 => 7.9.4: Logitech Media Server died. Restarting.
I just upgraded my ReadyNas Pro Logitech Media Server from 7.9.1 => 7.9.4, and it no longer starts :( slimserver.log just keeps repeating " Logitech Media Server died. Restarting." I tried manually running /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver and immediately get a segmentation fault. I am using perl 5.8.8. Any help in making sense of the above and getting it running again would be greatly appreciated. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Media scan terminates unexpectedly
I figured out how to ssh into the readyNAS (it uses a plugin) and install the missing module and the scan completed :) Crossing my fingers that I'm good now. mps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111027 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Media scan terminates unexpectedly
Hi, I did my first rescan of my music collection in a while, and get a "media scan terminated unexpectedly" error. This is on a ReadyNAS pro 6, on which I have run LMS without problem for years. I also tried upgrading from 7.9.0 to 7.9.1 but still get the same error. Any suggestions appreciated greatly.
