Based on my odyssey described in
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113274-Upgraded-from-7-9-1-gt-7-9-4-Logitech-Media-Server-died-Restarting,
I have decided to replace my very old ReadyNAS PRO with a new NAS,
mostly for running LMS, and I'd like whatever I get to last just as
long, and I would appreciate it if anyone could share advice on the
following

- Is QLogitechMediaServer a good go-forward platform?
- Are we are confident will continue to be supported for a long
  time?
- I do occasional messing around with the Perl scripts in LMS and
often ssh into my NAS to examine my LMS and restart it with debugging
parameters. Will it be difficult for me to continue to do so? Sometime
I use Windows, which is bad for this purpose because it compiles the
perl scripts. Are there any similar gotchas for debugging/development
  on QLMS?
- I use tons of plugins (mainly Erland's, which I remove the 7.9
version limitation on). Anything QNap-specific I need to be aware of?
- I do have problems with responsiveness (esp. around scans and
serving artwork when browsing). This is the main reason I'd like to
run something onbox on a powerful NAS rather than connecting via a
raspberry pi. Is this concern valid? If I get a good QNap NAS, will
the performance be strong? I remember mherger mentioning slower
performance on a NAS than pi. While I think that was on a synology, I
figure I shouldn't just assume NAS performance will be better.
