My internet connection is stable for some time now. So the problem did not reappear for some time. I have to manually unplug the cable to simulate this behavior again. I will try later this day. The possible causes i suspected ( but did not prove) are some of the plugins. I did an update more then two weeks ago. In fact i did three updates and every time i am loosing all my settings. Restoring cache and prefs solves most but even the scan location is lost. Well... that took some time.. after unplugging the cable every action takes ages.. in fact several minutes to complete. The windows service does not crash but seems to freeze for some time (several minutes) and then shows the info. all players are normal in the info during that stage. ip, Mac etc.. good. The diagnostic part in the windows control panel ( as administrator) works a little faster but after some time port 9000 is not working. After some time.. port 9000 is back. In the server log this appears: [19-11-12 18:17:25.8192] Slim::Networking::Discovery::Players::_players_error (146) Unable to get players: Timed out waiting for data No webpage will act during that periode.. so it seems related to port 9000? reconnecting the internet and everything comes back to narmal. Ping to router, and logitech players without errors. Router: Asus RT-AC3200 with Merlin firmware. Yes Fing is able to block internet traffic and blacklist devices. None of that active of course. That's not the problem. its purely related to the internet connection with the Logitech media server. No spotty installed . Just tried it again.. just pulling the internet cable. I started a local song and unplugged the cable. The song kept playing. When i switched off the player and switched it on after a minute the server was lost. The service on the server was running. I copied the server log from the start of the local song. Several notifications of lost connections seems normal. Yes, my network services about 25 devices and Fing monitoring all of them. all good. Nope, just cables in the area. They did it for a second time last week with the same result. So no internet = no logitech media server. The provider did some maintenance work. (that's how i noticed it, the alarm went to its default music) So everything connected as normal. Recent i noticed ( as a result of the set alarm) that the logitech mediaserver installed on my HP server did not worked while the internet was down. I tried it the same day again with the same result. No internet, no logitech server working. It is possible i missed a setting or installed a plug in with this effect but it is quite annoying. The reason i have a very large library on my server is to run my music without a connection to the internet. Please advice. if i do maps with 200 or 300 files it seem to work. The only step i did some time ago was running a songkong session. http://www.jthink.net/songkong/ The program changes file info etc.. maybe it broke something. i have to group the numbers in some collections to get some useful results. I experienced lots of strange errors and decided to reinstall my server. I first tried linux mint ( mate) and ended with a fresh install of Debian 9 ( more stable) Everything works as expected execpt the scanning of the approx 70K mp3 and Flac files. The scanner sees the files and starts scanning.. it "stops unexpectedly "" and sometimes the scanner log is empty. If there is something in the log ( mostly after a rescan at wich i manually deleted the db files) there a a lot of errors on some files but not sure if that should matter.
