I tested to uninstall the app and install it again. right from the start, when I enter the app I can't see my squeeze players, if I hit apply in the server the immediately appear, same as before. I will try it out with a different phone just to rule out the possibility of being related with the phone itself. Just to be clear, on a different network, with only local disabled in the Android app and with "Don't announce Squeezebox players running in Spotify Connect mode in your network" disabled in the server, I should see the player in my phone! Correct!? Ok, I just did the test. I went to the Squeezebox server, hit apply in the plugin (I need to change something and hit apply, probably because it assumes that nothing changed and does not submit), and my players instantly appear in my Android phone with "Spotify Connect". Some minutes latter it disappears and I have to repeat the process to it to appear. In my /var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log I don't have errors, actually I don't have nothing from today (the last line is from 2 days ago, any way to incresse the verbosity level?). Ok, I found one thing that it's strange... If I go to the Spotty Plugin in The Squeedbox server and hit apply, or reboot the squeezebox server... The Player appears in the Android App, some minutes latter it disappears and I have to go back to the Spotty Plugin Squeedbox server and hit apply or reboot it Check your server.log, or the process list. The helper application might be dying for whatever reasons. Which means that if it's not checked, then players should be announced locally (in the local network). being broadcasted to the network. In my desktop I can see the players when I'm in a different network and I enable Avahi in my router (when I I have no idea what enabling avahi on the router means. Normally I'd assume this would enable announcing services on the router to the network. But I certainly hope this doesn't proxy announcements from the LAN to other networks. disable Avahi the player disappears, this is correct). In Android the player never appears, even when I have avahi enabled. Please double check Spotify settings. You should probably use a better title for this thread, as it didn't really tell what your problem is about. It's about Spotty, isn't it? It only caught my attention because it showed up in the moderator's list (for whatever reason...). If I got your question right, then what you want is your visitors to have access to your Spotty installation? This likely will not work: in order to see Spotty your Spotify app (desktop or mobile) either needs to be in the same network, with local announcement in Spotty enabled. Or they need to be configured using the same account as Spotty and "only show local players" disabled in the Spotify app. But you can't have a user in the visitor's network stream to spotty using his own account.
