If I were you, Id consider abandoning LMS in that rather ancient SSOTS environment. There is QLMS now, where updating is much easier to handle and with a more modern environment. I'm having exactly the same problem with my QNAP system, but this solution hasn't done it for me. That line 68 for me originally said "CPAN/arch/*/*/Compress/Raw/Zlib.pm", so I tried removing one of the "/*" bits to give just "CPAN/arch/*/Compress/Raw/Zlib.pm" as suggested, but it's made no difference. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can't add any 3rd party plugins
Hello, I have a problem very similar to https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107496-Can-t-add-any-3rd-party-plugins Where I cant install plugins... when I go to my Plugin page I can select certain 3rd party plugins (like Spotty, or Youtube, or any other). After I press 'Apply' and restart the server I would assume that the selected plugins are now listed under 'Active' plugins. But this does not happen, they are just back (unselected) under '3rd party plugins'. Sometimes it happens that they fall under a new section called 'Update available for plugins' (or something similar), but when I select them, Apply the changes, and restart the server again.. they will be brought back (unselected) under '3rd party plugins'. This happens with several 3rd party plugins I tried. If I want to enable certain plugins that were turned off, then it all works fine. So my guess it that somehow somewhere it can't get a certain 'package'.. I am running LMS on Centos 7 using my HP ProLiant server at home. Having LM version 7.9.2 (the latest one I could download). If anyone can help then that would be great! zwep's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68208 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109167 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

SSODS and SSOTS are for special version for QNAP NAS and some other brand of NAS I can't remember with own Linux base. What hardware and OS does your LMS run under ? LMS updates are usually done via a package. If a standard distro there is usually a build / reposiotry for your distro. The latest version depends on distro - packages for main distro and OS such as Debian, Windows, OSX are available from slimdevices.com Most Plugin (LMS & 3rd Party) are mainly from LMS Web GUI - Settings/Plugins page. Plugin U[date are done bvia this page as well. LMS development is now via community (mainly mherger). Current "release" is 7.9.2 and also other updates as they are made via github respository. Cache directory is for LMS user only - users should not go near it directly /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/updates/ Are you looking for a plugin update - if not then create your own topic ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107496 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

There are other older posts about missing 3rd party plugins that refer to an 'extension downloader' plugin (see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?99182-Third-Party-Plugins-Unaccessable=752486=1#post752486) . This plugin doesn't seem to be present in LMS 7.9.0. I wonder if you have upgraded from an older version of LMS and this extension was somehow disabled and has stayed that way. I'd certainly delete the cache.db file, and try reinstalling LMS to see if the 3rd party plugins re-appear. LMS 7.9.1 on VortexBox Midi box, Xubuntu 17.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. Touch & EDO. 2nd Touch standard. LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (to A308CR amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Alternatively Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones. Wireless Xubuntu 17.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. I run LMS in my Vortexbox which is plugged directly into my modem. I stream the music files through my Squeezebox which is connected direct to my Denon AVR in the lounge room by optical cable (I hope that's the system info you mean). I'm more interested in what server hardware you're using, what OS version, LMS version, server.log file etc. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Thank you for your reply. I apologize for not providing my system information. Not used to posting, only reading. I run LMS in my Vortexbox which is plugged directly into my modem. I stream the music files through my Squeezebox which is connected direct to my Denon AVR in the lounge room by optical cable (I hope that's the system info you mean). This problem first surfaced about one month ago when I bought an Oppo UDP-203 blu-ray player. I had read some comments where people had been able to connect their SBT to it to take advantage of the AKM DAC that is in the player. >From what I could find it seems that I connect via USB between the SBT and the Oppo and have the "Enhanced Digital Output" applet installed (which it has been for quite sometime now), and have the Oppo connected to the Denon AVR analogue. I had no success with this. I then noticed the "EDO Release Kernel" and "USB Test Kernel #7" Kernel Installer setting so tried to install them too. As I said in my first post, every time I tried to download them it would indicate thet were downloading, the SBT would reboot, but they would still appear in the Kernel Installer. I've also tried the optical connections between the SBT and Oppo and 3-4 factory resets with no success. After a factory reset had no problems getting LMS up-to-date. So, in frustration, I decided to use the Oppo UDP-20X smartphone app instead. Whilst this picks up the LMS in the VB and allows me to play my music files using the AKM DAC (the files do sound sensational BTW!) it is very "clunky" and not as good as the Squeezer app I used before. No gapless playing and it won't allow you to pick one song at-a-time and make up a playlist whilst the songs are playing. You have to wait for the song playing to finish before you can pick another one to play. So that is my situation. I'm afraid I'm very much a Newbie when it comes to actually delving into the "guts" of the SBT so I don't know how to access the server.log. Sorry! Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can't add any 3rd party plugins
The URL applied in the repository appears at the top of the Plugins page "Bad repository http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...44/repo-sf.xml - 404 Not Found", but I am able to access this URL via Google and download it to my Windows desktop. Do you lack the IO::Socket::SSL module on your system? Check your server.log. right after the restart there might be a warning about SSL. And a little more information about your system might help, too. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Have been trying to install philippe_44's "squeeze2upnp" plugin but every time I add the repository to the "Plugins" page and click APPLY the page flickers briefly than comes back exactly the same. There are no plugins page near the bottom of the page under "Philippe's LMS Plugins", nor is there any 3rd party list and no associated check box. The URL applied in the repository appears at the top of the Plugins page "Bad repository http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...44/repo-sf.xml - 404 Not Found", but I am able to access this URL via Google and download it to my Windows desktop. I have also noticed, on my Squeezebox Touch, that I cannot download "EDO Release Kernel" or "USB Test Kernel #7" from the Kernel Installer setting. Each time they download they appear back in that setting. I tried to use the Putty command to stop SSOTS "/opt/ssods4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods stop" but it returns the message "-sh: /opt/ssod4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods: not found" (please note that this is the first time I have used Putty). Would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks. 1. Use Putty to stop SSOTS. Command is: /opt/ssods4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods stop 2. Use WinScp to get to /opt/ssods4/share/sbs/ and open shipped-binaries 3. In shipped-binaries, change line 68 to include arch/*. It becomes CPAN/arch/*/Compress/Raw/Zlib.pm 4. Use Putty to start SSOTS. Command is: /opt/ssods4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods start karlek's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64321 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107496 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can't add any 3rd party plugins
I have a weird issue with LMS 7.9.1 (installed on a qnap NAS) whereby I can't install third party plugins. If I select a plugin and restart as requested it just doesn't show up in the installed list. Scroll down and there it is in the uninstalled list as if I hadn't done anything. Sometimes it shows "an updated version of x plugin is available" at the top of the page after I try and install, but if I choose to update the plugin then I get the same result. It seems to happen with *any* 3rd party plugin I try to install. I have tried disabling and enabling an already installed plugin (I tested with the flickr plugin) and that works absolutely fine. Anyone have any ideas? It's really irritating, I just want to install spotify protocol handler!
