For the record, got this solved, finaly, sort of. After spending way too
much time reading and trying out any lead i could find i ran out of
patience.

Kicked out Spotify, in with Tidal + ickstream plugin. Done, works like a
charme. Bey bey spotify

these two where active since install of your update-lms

Question is if this is a LMS problem or a network issue. But what I want

Great, but no solution yet

Done this just now:
Removed player from mysqeeuzebox.com -> restart Synology -> restart
picoreplayer -> renamed player (at picoreplayer and in LMS) -> logged on
to msb.com and added the new player -> checked login spotify @ msb.com &
in LMS. 

Now listening to stream from Spotify, log still shows these kind of
errors every 10 seconds:

Hmm. Because I too am having some issues with Spotify, and the
suggestion from mnyb which I quoted was a potentially new solution to
me. I thought that was rather obvious from what I'd posted. Perhaps I

Thanks for handing me some suggestions.

I've been testing with different player (Max2Play, Moode, Rune, Volumio)
the last couple of weeks but all of them gave me some sort of problem.
This is because of my audio output: raspberry -> Allo Reclocker -> HDMI
module -> external I2S dac. Max2Play doesn't seem to have a i2S driver
that get's juice out of the reclocker, as do some others. Also the HDMI
has a switched L+R channel, i only know how to correct this in
piCorePlayer. Figuring out the right setup for each player and how to do
this is quite timeconsuming.

I've just deleted my audioplayer in mysqueezebox.com, let's see if i can
get it back in there again and do some testing tonight. 

Hope this problem can be solved. So many people seem to have a Rpi -
Spotify setup running smooth, no reason my setup should not do the same.

This is new to me.

I've been following all the various Spotify threads/problems, and my
system seems to be working OK. Occasionally I think there's some sort of
gremlin gets in and stops things, but by and large its OK. 

But, I think there are maybe a couple of my players, bought second hand
a while ago, that might still be registered to someone else account. I
never bothered much about it, because it never seemed to have any
impact. 

Perhaps with Spotify, coincidentally, Im just not using these players.

Should I track down which players, and sort this??

I'm running Spotify and SPH (so not the Triode 3rd party Spotify plugin)
without any problem on my Synology NAS (DSM6).

SPH and the oficial plugin works fine for me . Playlists and all ( it's
a flat list that's the limitations).
Don't forget to activate every single one of your players at my
squeezebox.com if your using the oficial solution.
If you entered you Spotify creeds year ago on my squeezebox.com you
migth have to remove your account and redo the procedure ( as explained
in the SPH tread )

Running my LMS on Linux mint 18 64 bit .

Yes SPH or Triode helper using its own port in the firewall.

It's very common for NAS distros to fail ofthen there are SSL or perl
incompatible problems .
Also SPH or Triode have some dependencies too ?
Hence why a less scaled down OS with the expected features is
preferable.
Max2play is basically raspian ( Debian for PI ).

I had been running LMS on a windows server & had very little trouble but
decided to upgrade to newer NAS. And I installed LMS on a virtual Linux
machine on the NAS. It worked pretty well but kept reading how it was
better to run it on a Raspberry. So I got a Pi3 & with Max2Play was able
to get it up and running in no time. It's such a good interface that I
bought a license though you can install for free LMS & a player on the
same Pi. 
Spotify was reputed to having trouble on the QNAP NAS but I never really
had that much trouble with it. I don't know what might be causing you
troubles but a lot of times with Spotify it's the firewall on the
machine and I read you have looked at that.
Recently I have been having trouble with Spotify in getting playlists to
load with Triode's plugin, just takes forever. So I changed to the stock
& Protocal Handler and it gave me such grief (couldn't find my playlists
& the GUI was not loading) I went back to Triode's plugin and apart from
playlists taking forever to load it's working. 
SO if no else gives you better advice I recommend trying an LMS install
on your PI. Max2Play makes it a breeze. You might read about the future
of Spotify with LMS. I was able to install Google music with Max2Play
but prefer Spotify for now.

My setup:
Source = Synology DS216Play, running LMS 7.9 and DSM 6
Player = Raspberry Pi 2, running PiCorePlayer 3.02
Network = gigabit, only wired

What is the problem:
Playback from spotify keeps shutting down after a short while (1 to 10
minutes). Playback stops in the middle of a song. Manualy skipping to
the next or previous song usualy solves this for a next short periode. 

Debug Log Protocol Handlers shows allways something like this, starting
the second a song from Spotify starts playing, repeating itself every 10
seconds up till the moment the song stops.

Done this allready:
- Removed LMS and updated to LMS 7.9 (done reboots in between and after
install)
- Combined Tiode's plugin with protocol handler and new protocol handler
and original Spotify plugin in every combination i can think of. 
- Settings in LMS: direct stream or via proxy, lowering stream quality,
tripple checking my login to spotify (plugin page telling me i am logged
in to Spotify), changing port of the helper app to 10 different options
(and changing firewall portforwarding at the same time), enableding and
disabling cache.
- Hooking up the Pi directly to the router, disconnecting everything but
the NAS and Pi from router
- Clean install of Pi and NAS
- Checking and rechecking Spotify was logged in at MySqeezebox.com, and
trying without it. 

Nothing i've done changed a thing. The problem is still here, allmost
ready to give up. Can someone figure out what is going wrong here?
